A historic water spring that has supplied Damascus for thousands of years is now reduced to a trickle, following the driest winter Syria has seen in decades, raising alarms over worsening water shortages across the capital. George Floyd: five years on
Much of the local reaction to the Post‘s recent visit focuses on the comments of current Minneapolis police chief Brian O’Hara. He took over the department in 2022. He tells the Post: O’Hara said he was accustomed to a very Democratic city after working in Newark, but said nothing prepared him for the ultra-liberal orthodoxy he encountered in Minneapolis. “Here it’s very, very ideological and a lot of times it’s like reality and facts can’t get through the filter. It’s a very detached, bourgeois liberal mentality … It’s bizarre.” He’s not wrong, if anything, O’Hara understates the underlying problem with Minneapolis

I support the anti-Israel protests
I am sure that many will be surprised at the headline of this editorial. I really must explain, though my reason is quite simple. I want every person who hates Israel to go out to the streets and scream this at the top of their lungs. I want them to carry signs expressing exactly how they feel. Even better, I want them to form organizations and write up member lists. I want them to make as many TikTok and Instagram videos as possible. I love that Keffiyehs have become hipster swastikas. I want them to have pins so they can be identified on the streets. I liked the ‘bloody hands’ pins the Hollywood folks wore at the Oscars. They were clueless but they made their intentions clear. They wanted to lynch and murder Jews.

What Israel seems to be doing now, after 19 months of war with Hamas, is a drastically watered-down version of that, neither fighting with full conviction nor negotiating without an eye on the war.

DEI, transgender policies are being wiped out at dizzying pace across America
The political “vibe shift” inaugurated by Donald Trump’s election continues, with rollbacks of progressive projects proceeding across the country. The pace of these reversals is matched only by the dizzying speech with which DEI and transgender policies descended in the first place; the thing about top-down policy impositions, as I’ve noted before, is that Astroturf can be pulled up and discarded with surprising ease. Consider just a few recent examples.

Kanye West’s Song ‘Heil Hitler’ Shows Just How Trendy Antisemitism Has Become In The Entertainment Industry
Kanye’s music is almost always controversial and very often laced with explicit language. I guess that is one way to garner attention from the public. In the last couple of years, Kanye’s antisemitic rants have increased to the point where they are very difficult to ignore or brush off, and assign them a different meaning altogether. There is also a video of that same song, and they are both titled “Heil Hitler” Kanye’s behavior and multiple antisemitic rants are not even cloaked in anything else. Others are wondering if the weird behavior of the Sun has anything to do with the disasters that we are now seeing. But what everyone should be able to agree on is that what we are witnessing right now is certainly not normal.
