It was a bizarre scene yesterday in the state House of Representatives’ Education Policy Committee. The Commissioner of the state Dept. of Education (MDE), Willie Jett, time and again deferred questions to his Dept.’s attorney. Gov. Tim Walz appointed Jett as Education Commissioner in Dec. 2022, three months after the first indictments were handed down in the case. MDE hid behind the excuse of “human resources (HR)/personnel privacy” concerns (1:31:50 mark). $250 million of taxpayer money went missing, 40 people have been convicted of fraud, and the state agency responsible won’t answer a single question about what happened.

USAID Sent Over $18 Billion to Islamic Terror States. Somalia, along with other Islamic terrorist entities, including the Taliban in Afghanistan, the Houthis in Yemen, and Hamas in Gaza, were among the top beneficiaries of USAID cash. USAID boasted of having sent $2.1 billion to Gaza and the West Bank since the Hamas attacks of Oct 7, 2023. In 2024 alone, $917 million was programmed for the terrorist areas occupying Israel.

Italy: Severe Storm Hits Isola d’Elba, Dozens Rescued Amid Flooding in Portoferraio. Firefighters were called into action as rising waters trapped residents in their homes. Three rescue missions were carried out to evacuate those in danger, while 28 people were saved from stalled vehicles along the main road.

Trump Wants Peace, But Egypt Prepares for War. Over the last few weeks, Egypt has poured more and more troops, tanks, and armaments into the Sinai, close to the border with Israel. This is in direct conflict with the 1978 Peace Treaty with Israel, which required the Sinai to remain demilitarized.

Pentagon threatens to cut aid if Egypt refuses to take in Gazans, as Arab states race to find alternative to Trump plan. The Trump administration is upping the pressure on Cairo to accept the U.S. president’s plan to resettle large parts of Gaza’s population on Egyptian territory. On Thursday, the Qatari outlet Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported that the Pentagon reached out to warn Egyptian officials that part of the over $1.4 billion in annual military aid might be cut if Cairo won’t accept President Trump’s plan.

Hamas announced it’s suspending release of hostages until further notice due to so-called “Israeli violations.” Update: After President Trump then called for all hostages to be released by Saturday…or else, Hamas decided to abide by the original plan and released three more hostages.

Hamas official threatens: ‘October 7th was just a prelude.’ Khaled al-Qa’id, one of the few remaining Hamas leaders, claimed a military victory in Gaza and warned, “The October 7 attack was merely a prelude to the complete liberation of the entire Land of Israel from Jewish control.”
