In California, Auburn Woman Warns She Saw Grandfather’s Aide Die After COVID Vaccine. He’d tested positive for the virus in December and died hours after getting the vaccine Thursday. An Auburn woman says she saw her grandfather’s aide (age 56) get the vaccine at a senior facility on Thursday. “Twenty minutes later he realized his legs felt tingly, and he was having shortness of breath. 1 hour later he was in ICU on a ventilator, and three hours later he passed away,” she wrote in a Facebook post.
In Israel, 63 people who received second vaccine dose contracted COVID. Though that’s a small percentage compared to the number who’ve received the vaccine, it’s something to be aware of.

Tropical depression near Fiji to intensify into a tropical cyclone. Tropical depression 05F developed near Fiji on January 28, and was forecast over the next 24 hours to develop into a tropical cyclone Category 1 on January 30.

Shallow M7.1 earthquake hits South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. Over 30,000 earthquakes have been registered in Bransfield Strait, ocean channel between South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula, from August to December 2020. The M7.1/M6.9 is the strongest in the sequence.
Indonesia’s Mount Merapi volcano on Java island erupted on Wednesday, sending up a cloud of ash and prompting authorities to warn of the risk of lava flows reaching roads.
ISLAMIC TERRORISM
ISIS terrorism returns to target women in Syria. Two women, both officials of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, were abducted and murdered in Syria. These appear to be the latest murders carried out by ISIS against US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces and their civilian authorities. In recent weeks, the jihadist group appears to have begun a resurgence, attacking Syrian regime forces west of the Euphrates and carrying out a large twin bombing in Baghdad.

Nukes, terror, Syria, Iraq, Hezbollah – Iran’s tentacles are spreading. Israel is preparing a full-court press to discuss Iran’s threats with the new US administration, according to various media reports.
Israel threatens to attack Iran if US eases sanctions, rejoins 2015 nuke deal. Tzachi Hanegbi, cabinet member and top advisor to Netanyahu, threatened that Israel will take action to prevent Iran from advancing its nuclear program. Habegbi said, “If the US government rejoins the nuclear deal — and that seems to be the stated policy as of now — the practical result will be that Israel will again be alone against Iran. This we will not allow. We’ve already twice done what needed to be done, in 1981 against the Iraqi nuclear program and in 2007 against the Syrian nuclear program.”
Israel’s top general says its military is refreshing operational plans against Iran in an apparent signal to Biden to tread cautiously in any diplomatic engagement with Iran. Such comments by Israel’s military chief of staff on U.S. policymaking are rare and likely would’ve been pre-approved by the Israeli government. “A return to the 2015 nuclear agreement, or even if it is a similar accord with several improvements, is bad and wrong from an operational and strategic point of view,” Lieutenant-General Aviv Kochavi said. “In light of this fundamental analysis, I have instructed the Israel Defense Forces to prepare a number of operational plans, in addition to those already in place. It will be up to the political leadership, of course, to decide on implementation, but these plans need to be on the table,” he said.
Syrian Arab Army troops reportedly positioned on Lebanese section of Mount Hermon near Israel’s border. The cluster of mountains that is Mount Hermon, or Jabal al-Shaykh – is the apex of the Golan Heights – and splits between Israel and Lebanon at its summit. Recently, reports have surfaced of both Israeli and Syrian airstrikes in areas close to the border. IDF military doctrine insists it will not permit foreign forces to embed anywhere near Israel’s borders. The Syrian Army is under the directive of President Bashar Assad and consists largely of Sunni Muslims.
