Domestic Terrorists

The leftist establishment has made a fighting handful in going after Trump to going after the people who supported him. They seek to dehumanize everyone they see as the enemies of the state. They have a monopoly on truth, which allows them to fact-check everyone on the right.

John Brennan, the former CIA director under President Obama, has been an active cheerleader in calling for the Biden administration to seek out domestic terrorists. He speaks authoritatively for the Deep State.

He said on MSNBC that “the members of the Biden team who have been nominated or have been appointed are now moving in laser-like fashion to try to uncover as much as they can about what looks very similar to insurgency movements that we’ve seen overseas, where they germinate in different parts of the country and they gain strength and it brings together an unholy alliance frequently of religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists, even libertarians.”

This “guilt by labeling” is the antithesis of fair play or justice. Rep. Ilhan Omar claims [a] ‘looney tunes’ white supremacist movement is taking over the GOP. Never mind that she made numerous anti-Semitic statements. Omar will never lose a house committee seat because hate is what the Democratic Party runs on.

I’ve long quit using Yahoo News as a source of current event information. I only visit the site to see who is their latest target for destruction. They must have the names of all conservatives on a roulette-style wheel, and they spin it each morning to see whose life they are going to seek to slander.

The name of My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell must have recently hit on a spin. He is under attack for repeatedly citing conspiracy theories about election fraud. March for Our Lives co-founder David Hogg tweeted that he and software developer William LeGate are launching a pillow company to drive My Pillow into bankruptcy. There are so many pillow companies in America that I don’t foresee Hogg putting a dent in Lindell’s market share. I thought Mr. Hogg was all into gun-control activism because of his connection to the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. Maybe this vindictive wonder boy is working on a bulletproof pillow.

Another target of Yahoo was Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. This woman clearly has some strange beliefs. She supports the ‘Pizzagate’ conspiracy that alleges that some Democratic Party leaders were running a human-trafficking and pedophilia ring that was being run from the basement of a pizza restaurant in Washington DC. She accused Barack Obama of being a secret Muslim. My favorite was her belief that a group of Jews had space lasers that they used to start wildfires in the western states. The Democrats voted to remove Rep. Greene from two committees. You can still be a flake in Washington, DC, but you have to be one from the left.

The most shocking example of this Big Brother culture was when Douglass Mackey of Delray Beach, Fla., was arrested for creating memes that allegedly misled voters in 2016 to think they could vote by texting instead of by actually going to the polls. This type of humor should be protected as free speech simply because it’s so absurd. The FBI offered no evidence that Mackey actually convinced anyone not to vote, but even if it did, so what? Would you rather live in a country where the FBI is hunting down pranksters — four years after the supposed transgression — or a country where voters are expected to be able to recognize a joke when they see one?

I remember the time when Johnny Carson caused a toilet paper shortage in 1973 after making a joke on The Tonight Show. “You know, we’ve got all sorts of shortages these days. But have you heard the latest? I’m not kidding. I saw it in the papers. There’s an acute shortage of toilet paper!” said Carson. The shortage he read about involved commercial-grade toilet paper. If Carson had made those comments about a talent shortage, people would call for him to be fired.

We didn’t declare war on the establishment; it declared war on us. If you step outside the lines, be prepared to be shamed, silenced and ostracized. Here is just a short list of some of the areas where we have lost ground:

• Our religious beliefs did not deserve the protection of the First Amendment.
• Some of our children are not good enough because they are white.
• Boys can compete against girls in high school sports.
• Our ideas are not worthy of debate and discussion.
• We have to trust the government’s official pronouncements about elections.
• Defending the Constitution’s rules for federal elections is sedition.
• We get labeled as racists if we want better protection of our borders.

If Christians had been more organized and more prayerful about who we let rule over us, our nation would not be in such a sad state. I’m relieved in knowing we will likely escape this world, but we may have to explain to our Lord why we needed to be rescued.

“Exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).

What manner?

The student of Bible prophecy from the pre-Trib perspective can spiritually sense it. This generation is bumping up against the extreme edge of the end of the age.

Although the Apostle Peter was given Holy Spirit foreknowledge of the time I believe we are now a part of, he had no way of knowing the expansive time frame that was involved in his prophecy.

He wrote in one intensively compact burst of inspiration the entire scope of history yet future from the time of his writing. It came out as the following:

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. (2 Peter 3:9–14)

That sweeping vista of the future is stunning when we stop to contemplate it, study it, and dissect it!

The great apostle, emerging out of the shores of the Galilee and other fishing holes of the time as a simple fisherman, was given by the Holy Spirit the spectacular vista. It was a stupendous vision of earth’s timeline that will conclude with God’s entire creation being completely dissolved, then remade into the perfection He first produced.

Peter begins by addressing, it seems, the question so many of us who watch current evil machinations are asking today: “How long, oh Lord?” Why is God taking so much time to deal with the wickedness that is causing all of humanity to spiral downward so rapidly?

God had Peter write those words because He isn’t willing for a single person to perish—that is, perish eternally, with their soul being lost forever, apart from God.

When we look at that single line Peter was directed to write, we can get a look into our God’s wonderful character—His matchless love for each individual ever to be allowed into the world in the human birth process.

He is having Peter tell us that this is the reason He seems slow to anger, slow to punish with judgment and wrath. We can, as believers who hold to Luke 21:28, Titus 2:13, and other such scriptural encouragements, look to Peter’s words  to get some degree of understanding of why He lets things become increasingly wicked.

What we are really saying—I guess I should say, “what yours truly is really saying”—when posing the question is: “Why doesn’t the Lord act against this evil as I think he should?” Or “Why doesn’t the Lord hurry up and call us to be with Him in the Rapture?”

The next thing that pops into the gray matter, then, is: “Do you really not care that so many will have to face the evil of Antichrist and the Tribulation following that thief-in-the-night moment?” It’s a humbling prodding by the Holy Spirit. We should try our best to think as our Lord does. After all, He indwells us and has given us the ability to do so.

He further gives Peter the words to pass along in the form of a question:

What manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God?

Part of looking for the soon coming of our Lord should be, I am convicted, to have compassion for those about whom we often feel quite the opposite. Godliness, you see, is not being willing for anyone to perish, but wanting all to come to repentance.

This is a truth from the heart and mind of God that I truly will have to get serious about as we proceed into that dark future Mr. Biden has forewarned. It won’t be easy; there is much uneasiness as we consider prophetic developments. But the Holy Spirit has given Peter the words from which we must not turn away.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

This is the manner in which we should be—“in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God”—which, incidentally, comes as a thief in the night!

Selling America Short

The website Reddit has caused a great deal of excitement in the public financial markets. The social media site caused several heavily shorted stocks to soar in price, forcing hedge fund managers to suffer huge losses. Melvin Capital, which saw losses from its short positions quickly pile up, was forced to get an emergency loan of more than 2 billion dollars from another hedge fund, Citadel.

At first glance, it appears to be a story of the little guy getting the best of Wall Street fat cats. After a few days, the incident is just more evidence that the financial markets are rigged by the rich and powerful.

The 52-week low for the GameStop company is $2.57. After Reddit users began buying the stock, it rose from the $20 range to a high of nearly $500 per share. This is an insane price level for a company that is almost certainly headed for bankruptcy.

The AMC Entertainment Holdings company is involved in the theatrical exhibition business. The company owns, operates, or has interests in theatres. Because of Covid-19, AMC’s stock has traded as low as $1.91. During the buying spree, its stock ran all the way up to $20.

Short squeezes result when short sellers of a stock move to cover their positions, purchasing large volumes of stock relative to the market volume. Purchasing the stock to cover their short positions raises the value of the shorted stock, thus triggering more short sellers to cover their positions by buying the stock.

When you short a stock, the most you can make on your trade is 100%. Your losses are unlimited if the stock rises dramatically in price. If someone shorted GameStop at $20 and closed the trade at the $483 high, they have to pay out 24 times their original investment.

The Reddit crowd then tried to create a short squeeze in the silver market. In early morning trading last Monday, the price of silver was pushed up to $30. Shares of silver miners surged, and retailers of bars and coins around the world struggled to meet demand.

The ruckus began after posts on the Reddit message board urged investors to buy physical silver. One post encouraged the buying of iShares Silver Trust (SLV), an exchange-traded fund whose shares represent ounces of silver sitting in a vault.

This would force the fund to create new shares and buy silver to back them, exposing a shortage of supply and pushing prices up, said the post under the headline “THE BIGGEST SHORT SQUEEZE IN THE WORLD $SLV Silver 25$ to 1000$.”

The problem with buying SLV is that it is likely backed by paper silver contracts that can be created at will. If the price of SLV is driven up past the spot price, the trust can create new shares by buying the physical metal.

Some people promoted the idea of purchasing Comex futures and demanding delivery of the metal when their contract came due. The exchange has changed the rules, which now allow it to settle any contract in cash only. To suppress the price of silver, the Comex increased the margin requirement to $16,500 per contract from $14,000. The increase means those who want to trade silver futures will need to put up more collateral to ensure they can meet their obligations.

The GameStop surge may have caused a few hedge fund managers to spill their coffee when the stock traded in the hundreds. The stock quickly tanked once people realized the company is likely to go the way of Blockbuster. I’m sure there are some hedge funds that shorted like crazy when it hit $480. Now that GameStop is way down, the hedge fund folks are probably out shopping for a new Rolls Royce.

I don’t have a problem with someone taking a short bet against a company. I think it becomes destructive when hedge funds use it to devalue whole industries. Many firms have gone under because they could not raise capital in the market or get a loan because their stock price was too low. We have a deficit in several key metals because big banks have sat on their prices for years.

I know we already have plenty of indications that we are living in the end times. This massive greed on Wall Street is just one more example of the depravity that is the lead-up to the last days.

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also . . . No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon . . . But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:19-21, 24, 33, KJV).

There’s Method to the Madness

I’m in agreement with my close friend and colleague in Bible prophecy commentary, Daymond Duck. I read where he wrote in effect that he really would like to move away from things surrounding the evils of the political, societal, and cultural war today and deal with strictly Bible prophecy study. But all of this is so closely related to where this generation stands on God’s prophetic timeline that, for the moment, at least, I, like Daymond, must deal yet again with these matters.

It is all maddening to those who still retain rationality while observing the things going on. It’s maddening because thinking from the other side—the side that wants to change America from the nation founded upon Judeo-Christian principles to one along the lines championed by Marx and Mao—seems to have lost all sanity in their plans to force us into compliance. This, we have alluded to before, is because, as Paul points out in Romans chapter 1, their rejection of God has caused development of the collective reprobate mind of verse 28.

Evangelist Mike Gendron correctly assesses a large part of the American populace turning their backs on God.

America has become a moral cesspool that is overflowing with ungodliness, unrighteousness and wickedness. Our government has given women the right to murder their babies in the womb, and as a result, tens of millions of human beings have been killed in abortion clinics. Sexual perversions of all types are defiantly flaunted and widely accepted. God’s unique design for marriage was overturned in a landmark decision by the Supreme Court in 2013. Our country has also become the largest supplier of pornography throughout the world. These are all symptoms of a greater evil which is the sin of idolatry (Col. 3:5). Our nation has turned its back on the one true God by worshipping gods of all the false religions (Exo. 20:3). As a nation, we should no longer ask for God’s blessings but instead expect His judgment. “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness” (Rom. 1:18). Again, half of the voting population, it is evident from developments since the 2020 presidential election, have observably rejected Heaven’s prescription for living under godly morality. The problems that have burgeoned in the nation’s division are from those who want America transformed and are determined to brutally enforce quickly accumulating executive dictates. Yet those against America as founded blame those of us who want to continue life under the Constitution as framed by men who claimed our rights as God-given to be the troublemakers.

They continue to tell lies through every venue available. Yet their chief cry as of late is that it is those who oppose their lawlessness and godlessness who are telling the “big lie.” The “big lie” accusation by the man currently occupying the White House claims that political opposition in constantly proclaiming the election to be fraudulent is alien in the same vein of Adolf Hitler’s and Josef Goebbels’ “Big lie” against the Jews that eventually brought on the Holocaust and the genocide against Europe’s Jewish people.

Mazie Hirono went on Anderson Cooper to accuse the Republican senators of a “Big Lie”; Dominion Voting Systems has alleged a “Big Lie” in their lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani; Jake Tapper has used the term repeatedly on Twitter and on air to describe allegations of fraud in the 2020 election.

Bloomberg explained the analogy in September: “Adolf Hitler and Goebbels, his minister of propaganda, espoused a technique known as the ‘Big Lie,’ which involved repeating a colossal falsehood until the public came to believe it was true.”…

[In his book, Mein Kamf] Hitler charges the Jews with destabilizing society by promulgating a big lie—the narrative that provided a sinister rationale for the detainment and mass murder of the Jewish people.

In the Hitler/Goebbels “Big Lie” analogy flowing freely from the mouths of Biden, Tapper, and others, the accuser would be analogous to Hitler, and the person being accused of lying would be analogous to the Jews.

In other words, the Hitlerian strategy is to accuse one’s enemies of using a “Big Lie” to gain and consolidate control. To accuse your opponent of a “Big Lie” is to borrow a murderous, anti-Semitic slander directly from “Mein Kampf”—and to align oneself with Hitler in the analogy. So, to try to clear up a deliberately convoluted tactic by the present regime in the White House, the administration and their many mouthpieces are accusing those who claim the election was stolen through fraud are evil like Hitler. These rant that to claim the 2020 election fraudulent through illegal mail-in votes and the crooked Dominion Voting System is a Nazi tactic, using a “Big Lie” in the way Hitler employed the tactic.

In fact, it is these leftist operatives who are doing the very thing they accuse their opposition of doing. They are using Nazi-like methods with their “Big Lie” against those who see and report the fraud the left has perpetrated.

So there is method to their madness. All lies are from the father of lies, Lucifer the fallen one. His method hasn’t changed since the time of the Garden of Eden when He told Eve, upon tempting her to eat of the forbidden fruit, “Ye shall not surely die.”

Let us pray that many will turn from the father of lies to the Father of Truth, and be saved from the sin that ensnares them.
