At Long Last

Some of us have been waiting for Israel’s attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities for the better part of two decades. Some of us have made predictions that failed! I’ve said more than once that I thought the attacks were imminent…15 years ago. Fortunately for all of us, amateurs like me are not in charge of Israeli strategy.

In fact, as someone pointed out yesterday, this operation—so complex and fraught with danger—had to take years to plan. A main consideration was that Iran’s lethal proxies (Hezbollah, Syria, Hamas, etc.) were going to jump into the fray if and when Israel did what was necessary.

Fortunately, 2024 changed all that. The catalyst of course was the demonic Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023. That decision will go down as one of the most catastrophic priorities in all of history. It will rival Napoleon’s disastrous battle at Waterloo (in today’s Belgium) in 1815, and Hitler’s goofs at Dunkirk and Stalingrad.

Hamas gave Israel a reason to take them all down. Like Michael Corleone taking out all five families in “The Godfather.” He eliminated all his rivals in a single stroke.

We now know that hours before Shabbat, Israel sent her elite air force eastward, and a lightning strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, which also included the assassinations of key military leaders and nuclear scientists, rocked not only the Middle East but also the global community. In fact, so breathtaking was Israel’s audacious plan and execution, even the most notorious Jew-haters have been relatively quiet. Resolve and power can blunt even the most obnoxious propaganda.

Right now, Iran has counter-attacked, launching ballistic missiles at population centers, mostly in Tel Aviv. Three Israelis have been killed and a few dozen injured. For their part, Israeli officials have said this will be a two-week operation. Last year’s strikes on Iran left the terror state defenseless for all practical purposes. The elimination of their air defenses made it clear this Israeli strike was coming.

Yesterday I watched a webinar sponsored by JINSA—Jewish Institute for National Security of America—led by Dr. David Makovsky. He interviewed three Israel generals and John Hanna, a senior fellow for JINSA. Fascinating conversation.

Major General Amikam Norkin said, “We are in an historical setting.” He noted that the 1,500-mile flight for the Israelis resulted in first, attacks on Iran’s S-400 and S-300 defense systems. “Our first mission was to have air superiority,” Norkin said.

He also said that this operation will take two weeks.

As Makovsky made clear, many retired U.S. generals claimed Israel was not capable of such a knock-out blow. This narrative should embarrass scores of defense types and their media lapdogs. Already, Tucker Carlson’s predictions of catastrophic deaths among American interests in the Middle East have been false. I wonder: will his credibility take the hit it deserves?

Major General Yaacov Ayish said, “What we’ve seen and is published is only the tip of the iceberg of what’s going on.” He said the whole thing had been years in the planning. Years of covert and operational preparation. There was also emphasis on remaining humble, because “we are only at the beginning.”

That beginning has rocked the Iranian leadership. Even Khameini knows his days are numbered. Still, the mullahs and their hapless spokesmen claim they will “burn the sand under the Zionists’ feet” and similar claptrap.

The Jerusalem Post reported what President Trump’s initial comments were:

“The hardliners in Iran who rejected the chance to reach a nuclear deal with the United States are ‘all dead now,’ US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday amid Israel’s strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

“’I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest terms, to ‘just do it,’ but no matter how hard they tried, how close they got, they just could not get it done,’ the US president wrote.

“’Certain Iranian hardliners spoke bravely, but they did not know what was about to happen. They are all dead now, and it will only get worse,’ he warned.”

European Friends Fiends

I was reading recently a detailed account of just how anti-Semitic British officials were during the Mandate, from 1917-1948.

Wow.

It was worse than I thought—and I’d known for years that the British were horribly biased toward the Arabs since at least the end of World War 1.

After General Allenby defeated the Turks at Beer Sheva in 1917, the new British administration in Palestine immediately revealed their bias, giving the Arabs a 2/3 majority in seats for the municipal council in Jerusalem. Even though there was a Jewish majority population!

General Sir Arthur Money took over the administration from Allenby and things quickly disintegrated. British officers remained seated whenever the Hatikva was played. And copies of The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion were published and distributed. (Today, copies of Mein Kampf are circulated among the Palestinians.)

General Louis Bols replaced Money, and Bols’ assistant, Colonel Taylor, helped round-out a formidable Jew-hating duo.

As a complete aside (but relevant), Europe, particularly Germany, France, and England, had been digging their own spiritual grave by embracing Darwinian philosophy. This is directly why German and British seminaries began quickly in the mid-19^th century to claim the Bible is myth. For example, it became popular to claim that the Bible itself was in fact derived from Sumerian and Babylonian myth. Nothing is more blasphemous. In 1902, the German Bible scholar, Friedrich Delitzsch, delivered a paper in Berlin, titled, “Babylon and the Bible.” The Kaiser was in the audience.

This theological devilment soaked the British political structure. What had been a friendly body to the Jews in the first half of the 19^th century quickly devolved into a ghetto of Jew-haters.

The French went down the same path.

I’ve said all this to say, France this week condemned an Israeli incursion into Beirut, the point of which was to further degrade the Hezbollah demons that have murdered Jews and want to murder all of them.

Thanks, France.

When he’s not getting beat up by his wife, Emmanuel Macron delivers the usual bland assurances about “Israel’s right to self-defense,” at the same time he’s undermining Israel in every significant and practical way. Macron also appears to thirst for a Palestinian state. At the UN this month, an international conference on a Palestinian state will be held. Several countries (including places like Ireland!) already recognize a de facto state for the Arab devils that exist only to murder Israelis. Once again, the French lead from behind.

We are a long way from the days in which the French supported Jews. A shining example: the pilot for Air France 139, who refused to be released by PLO terrorists in 1976, at Entebbe. He said he would stay with them, and he did.

Now we are forced to watch a creep like Macron stride along in deluxe suits, lecturing Israel on how to have a place among the nations.

According to the Jerusalem Post:

“France condemned the Israeli strikes on Beirut’s southern suburb, Dahiyeh, on Thursday in a Friday statement on X/Twitter, and called on Israel to completely withdraw from Lebanese territory ‘as quickly as possible.’

“’France calls on all the parties to abide by the ceasefire signed on November 26, 2024, in order to ensure the safety of civilian populations on both sides of the Blue Line,’ the statement reads.”

Huh, let’s think about how the Jews have treated France. In two world wars, they contributed treasure and blood in order to help rescue the fancies from the Germans.

As in regular, real life, one must pay very close attention to who is a true ally. If you know one or two people in your whole life that will stick with you to the end, you are living in very rare company. Israel knows this better than most.

Macron (or, as I call him, Liberace) is a political low-life that loves his Deep State perch.

He will be forgotten by History long after the Jews continue to thrive because their God preserves them to live and thrive in the land of their forefathers.
