The Joy Poachers Will Fail: By Dave Hubley

(There is a special message at the end of this article for those who might happen to read this and do not have Jesus in their life and are looking for peace and a way to better understand the present-day insanity and confusion.)

It’s gloomy and overcast here in Maine this morning. As I sit having my morning tea and prayer time – as I always do to start my day – I’m thinking that in just 3 days, it will be the first day of 2024. My mind made a connection between the bleak outlook for this “New Year” and the conditions outside my window. They bear a strong resemblance to one another, and while the weather may (or may not) improve, world conditions show no such signs.

There is a very powerful cadre of thieves and poachers operating in this present world, and they are frantically and frenetically operating at breakneck speed. They are attempting to steal, batter, and destroy something that they are unable to identify, so they seek to cast a pall of hopelessness and despair over everything else, even the simple necessities of everyday existence.

They don’t know what it is that they hate; they just know they hate it.

They threaten to regulate and denigrate every single aspect of the things that give life meaning in human terms. Food, health, employment, and other “basic necessities” are under constant threat of being made impossible to obtain.

They stalk and hunt what they consider to be hope, peace, and, most importantly, something called Joy. They are so full of hate that it has turned to malice, and it manifests itself in that it has become an end in itself to achieve more of it.

They equate joy with expensive homes, vehicles, vacations, and other physical “niceties,” so their long-term plan is to make them available only to those who will “knuckle under” or “get with the program.”

It has become obvious to most people that the powers that currently “rule” are intentionally and consistently promoting anything that will instill anxiety and fear into those whom they seek to subjugate. They even create new things for “us” to worry over.

They constantly threaten to reduce the availability of or “ban” things that are in common use and have been working for centuries to heat homes, cook, travel, and nearly every other thing people have come to depend on. All are based on the false dichotomy of “climate change.”

They threaten the current financial system that has provided independence from government control for most of the world by implementing a Digital Control Monetary System that will seek to ensure that no man may buy or sell without permission.

They are having some success in destroying these human needs, hope, peace, and joy in worldly terms, so they focus their attention on them.

But they cannot ultimately succeed because they are unable to identify the source of true Joy that feeds and nourishes the human soul.

It is Joy that is provided by knowing Jesus Christ and His eternal promise to all who will receive Him as Lord and Savior.

Despite all the despair that currently rocks the world, there is Joy in the heart of the followers of Christ.

Even for those times when events seem to be overwhelming, even for the children of God, there is a renewal of this Joy that can be readily accessed.

Where may that renewal be found?

It is in Bible Prophecy: Given, Fulfilled, and Yet-to-be Fulfilled.

Now to the crux of this article.

Bible prophecy, especially in these dark and ominous times, is the “elixir” of life.

It is the very Signature of God.

What has already been fulfilled is the guarantor of its authenticity and its future reality.

It reminds us to “stay upon Jehovah.”

“Remember what happened long ago, for I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me. I declare the end from the beginning,
and ancient times from what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand,
and all My good pleasure I will accomplish” (Isaiah 46:9-10).

If you are despairing and despondent, perhaps you might open your Bible to the Book of Isaiah and read Chapter 9:6-7, Luke 1:26-38, Jeremiah 31:35-37, Isaiah 66:7-9 (the rebirth of Israel), and so much more fulfilled prophecy that the Lord has already brought about by His own Power, Might and Authority.

My sisters and brothers, do not fear the prophecies contained in God’s Word but study them and “comfort one another with these Words” (1 Thessalonians 4:18).

Who besides the One and Only God can declare these future events, then bring them about in their proper time, and urge you to receive comfort from them?

The reality is that God already did declare these events, and He has brought them about in their proper time, and He will bring about the balance of them, including:

“After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this'” (Revelation 4:1).

The Joy of those who have received Christ is one of the myriad Gifts of God.

The unbelieving world can’t kill Joy, and they can’t steal Joy. They are not even able to identify it!

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18).

My sisters and brothers, it may seem at times that they are succeeding in this theft of Joy, but take heart and examine the below prophetic promises in the Scriptures:

“For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18).

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).

These, like all other prophecies, will occur at the time appointed by God.

In the meantime, pray for the unsaved as we are commanded to do and trust in Him Who has promised:

“But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him'” (1 Corinthians 2:9).

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms.

And what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).

Happy New Year!? :: By Terry James

“Unbelievable…it’s already 2024.” That’s what we hear today or have maybe heard or said ourselves when conversing on this or any previous new year. Indeed, the days, weeks, months, and years seem to roll around faster and faster –at least to those of us who are of somewhat advanced age.

The conversation always seems to include something like: “When I was young, time seemed to just drag on, especially during school days. Now, time just flies by, doesn’t it?”

Nowadays, we still say: “Happy New Year!” to those with whom we come in contact at this time of year. But just like in the case of those younger days in our view of time versus our elder days of thinking on time’s swift movement, whether it’s a Happy New Year or otherwise, is truly a matter of perception.

Since our column here is devoted to dealing in matters involving God’s Word, and in particular, dealing with God’s Prophetic Word, perception is important, even crucial to understanding to what degree this is a Happy New Year –or otherwise. In considering all this, there are massively divergent perspectives at hand –thus, enormously important questions that need to be answered. So let’s dive into this 2024 new beginning in terms of what we face now and just ahead. Let’s look into whether it’s, in fact, to be a Happy New Year!… Or not…

Now, again, I’m going to be more America-centric than global-centric because, for most of Planet Earth, the term Happy New Year isn’t even thought of in such terminology. For most peoples, the majority under dictatorships, there is little thought of this year –or any year—as being Happy.

Our nation is by far the most materially blessed of all human history –at least so far as we know. That is, some believe the antediluvian world possibly had technologies beyond our own advanced technology. I, personally, doubt it, so far as human beings developing technology to the extent we have now. There were, I believe, certain supernatural interventions into the human condition by the demonic world, according to God’s Word. So I proceed from the view that America, and the Western world in general, today, has material blessings beyond any other civilizations of human beings populating the earth.

Material blessings, i.e., cars, refrigerators, homes filled with comforts, and conveniences of every sort, I realize, aren’t necessarily things that produce the emotion we think of as Happy. And this is where the matters of perception and perspective come into relevance for purposes of this commentary’s exploration, I think.

What constitutes, in our America-centric perception and perspective, a New Year –the Year 2024—that will be a truly Happy New Year?

Perception/perspective of most Americans

Americans, for the most part, seem focused only on the moment. This includes secular and religious people alike –including believers in Jesus Christ, and non-believers. Those in this category go about life just, as is said, keeping heads above water economically and in other ways that don’t disrupt routines of life. Barring personal and family catastrophic events or the dire outlook of those in deep poverty, the perception and perspective are of and from the all-is-well viewpoint. The upcoming year, for these, is usually projected verbally as a Happy New Year in that sense.

However, looking from the perception and perspective of things going on, viewed under the Revealing Light of God’s Word, the Bible, it is quite a different and troubling reality.

The greeting or best wishes given with the statement Happy New Year doesn’t guarantee such a future for the coming year. It simply expresses hope that things of life track in a trajectory that doesn’t include any sort of unpleasant issues or events. Since such a trajectory doesn’t exist in an imperfect world full of pitfalls, wishes for a truly Happy New Year can never be fulfilled –at least not a Happy New Year in the truest sense.

So, what is a Happy New Year in the truest sense? The question: is there the possibility of such a Happy New Year involves a matter worthy of exploration during this darkening time of Sodom-like cultural and moral decline.

Perception/perspective of those with prophetic enlightenment

Those who use the Template of God’s Prophetic Word to view the world as it is and as it looks to be projected to be for the year 2024 cannot see a particularly happy outlook. That is, not in the sense others with the view that all is well see things, both at this moment and in the year just ahead.

We look at the absolute adulteration of the culture in this nation as a departure from godliness. The youngest children are subjected to the most wicked forms of perversions, while parents who object are pursued by federal law enforcement as domestic terrorists.

We view the murder of millions of babies in the womb, and even after being out of the womb through the abortion process, as the equivalent of the ancients sacrificing their infants and small ones upon the pagan altar of Moloch.

We look at the great deception going on, with government and corporate entities as well as journalists in media lying to us, as the fulfillment of Jesus’ Words when he told his disciples that deception will be great just before He comes back in power and glory. The American political process is an ongoing validation of the Lord’s foretelling in that regard.

The wars are rampant, just as Jesus said they would be at the end of the age. Rumors of wars are even more prolific in their assaulting our eyes and ears each news cycle. Think Ukraine and Hamas and Israel’s determination to survive wars being perpetrated against the Jewish state.

And Israel at the center of all controversy at this very moment leaves no doubt to those who watch from the Biblically prophetic perspective that the world is on the very precipice of the Tribulation –the last 7 years of human history leading to Christ’s Second Advent.

World War III and thermonuclear annihilation threaten each and every hour today.

So, it isn’t time to forecast a Happy New Year for 2024 – not in the sense that it will be a time of joy in our nation or upon Planet Earth. Quite the opposite is the Truth of the matters involved.

That said, we who look at these things through the prism of God’s prophetic Word from the perspective and with the perception of God’s Promises as absolutely unbreakable have peace about all the ominous societal, cultural, economic, and geopolitical as well as apostate religious darkness that is quickly gathering. We understand, through God’s Promises, through Holy Spirit Discernment, that all the evil we see coming now and in the year 2024 means one thing. The Lord Jesus Christ is about to shout from the Clouds of Glory, “Come up here!” (Revelation 4:1).

Paul the Apostle prophesies what happens next, following that shout.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words” (1 Thes 4:16-18).

With this stupendous prospect in our spiritual perspective and perception, we who accept completely God’s Word as Absolute Truth believe that 2024 just might be the Happiest of Happy New Years!

If you want to be a child of God who can truly say “Happy New Year!” in the way herein presented, this is how.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10).
