Nevertheless… :: By Dave Hubley

(There is a special message at the end of this article for those who might happen to read this and do not have Jesus in their life and are looking for peace and a way to better understand the present-day insanity and confusion.)

This article is not really about politics, so please bear with me as, like it or not, politics has an unavoidable effect on our lives, and we must consider it.

This most extraordinary 2024 election has resulted in a Republican sweep and a powerful opportunity to attempt to unwind the destruction attempted on our Constitution and the rights enumerated in it. The people have indeed spoken, and I am right there with them.

The internet is awash with reports of how the re-election of Donald Trump by a massive margin is already having worldwide effects even before he is inaugurated. A seeming global wave of “right-wing” and “conservative” political attitudes and decisions by leaders, and maybe even entire countries, appears to be happening. If these reports are true, whether it is happening out of fear or out of a reality check, it is certainly good news.

The most noticeable prognostications have to do with how Trump, with a mandate by the American people, can set America back on the path to the rule of law and our roots as a Constitutional Republic (the USA is not and never has been a “democracy”). There is much hope that he can “drain the swamp” that has become the cesspool that so many of us see when we observe all the skullduggery and complete lack of accountability on the part of individuals (especially politicians), openly proclaiming that they will do as they please in spite of the law (and then getting away with doing it).

An end of the practice of “rules for thee and not for me” and removing from office those who fancy themselves as some sort of unaccountable royalty drove a large part of this mandate of the people, especially as we witnessed the intentional and massive flooding of the country with unvetted, illegal and now largely untraceable, aliens. The promise to deport these people may be much harder to accomplish than it was to say.

There is understandably a great deal of hope that the country can be economically restored to realistic and manageable levels. This, given the damage caused by relegating the dollar to a fiat currency when it was taken off the gold standard in August of 1971, and the entrenched greed that is rampant, will likely be a very large row to hoe.

These things all remain to be seen, but it is much more difficult to unwind things once they have been allowed to reach a certain point.

I’m not trying to be a wet blanket. I am a Vietnam veteran and an American patriot. I want my country to be great again, but that can only happen if it turns back to God.

Having said all these things, I am first and foremost a Christ-honoring Christian, and to Him, my first allegiance lies. I am bound to His Truth.

As mentioned, this article is not actually about politics but is instead about not losing touch with reality.

Part of that reality is that the “deep state,” or “globalists” (Deep Globalists), or whatever you wish to call them, will not give up on their goal of destroying the American Constitution and even the country itself.  They have been deceived into thinking they can circumvent God. If indeed He has brought about these recent events, they will be educated by Him, but I am doubtful that many of them will accept that lesson. God’s Word provides some understanding of why this is:

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting” (Romans 1:28).

I believe that God has brought about these recent events in order to fulfill all remaining prophecy, but more importantly, to save millions of souls from eternal death by shaking the earth’s people from their stupor (Isaiah 2:10-22).

God is sovereign over all creation, and He will have His way.

The Word of God has established that, ultimately, God will prevail over any Godless human endeavor:

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,’ declares the LORD” (Isaiah 54:17).

And He reveals the future:

“Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’” (Isaiah 46:9-10).

Under Trump, and if it is God’s purpose, America may possibly become the most powerful nation on earth once again. He has only (barring actions by any of the vast array of forces allied against him from without, but more ominously, from within) 4 years to overcome the vast mountain of damage that has been done to this country and endeavor to ensure that anyone who replaces him will hold to the same values.

There are many who believe that God directly intervened to preserve Donald Trump’s life in Butler, PA. It seems that between that, the timely exposure of another potential assassination attempt, and the giving over of the House and the Senate to Republicans, as well as the Presidency, makes a pretty strong case for His Hand on America despite those who would try to dismiss it.

God made this declaration to the Jews through Abraham, who would become the father of the nation of Israel.

“I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed(Genesis 12:3). Emphasis added by me.

Trump, in his first term, moved the American Embassy to Jerusalem, something long overdue and a testament to the fact that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel. America had declared to the world our support, as a nation, of God’s chosen people once again, as was done in 1948.

The “real” realities.

With all these circumstances in mind, it has been revealed by God in His written word that He will remove from the earth all who have repented of their sin and rebellion against Him and received His Son as their personal Savior. He will then judge unbelieving Israel as well as execute His judgment on those who will have rejected His Grace in His Son (Book of Revelation, Ch4:1 – Ch20:14). Emphasis added by me.

“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:21).

All the evidence points to these events being very close at hand.

Now to the crux of this article.

A sobering thought for those who may perhaps put too much confidence in recent events.

America is not mentioned, even obliquely, in the Bible.

So, what can that mean?

We can’t really know as it relates to the USA, but we do know that the Word of God is clear about events that will occur in this future time called the End of The Age.

“So on that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem” (Zechariah 12:9). Emphasis added by me.

Will America be a part of this attack on the city of Jerusalem of which God has said:

“Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever” (Ezekiel 43:7).

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him. He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning” (Daniel 2:20-21). Emphasis added by me.

Regardless of the Lord’s plans for any country or kingdom, individuals are accountable to God and Him alone and must choose to accept or reject Jesus Christ, as He is the Chosen Vessel of God’s salvation, and it must happen in his or her living years.

Just as every prophecy contained in the Word of God, up to this point in time, has been fulfilled in minute detail, so also will this one from the Book of Hebrews:

“Just as man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment, so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him” (Hebrews 9:27-28).

“Put no more trust in man, who has only the breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?” (Isaiah 2:22).

I pray and hope that you will respond to His call.

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.

And, what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).

Celebration-Thanksgiving-Christmas :: By Dale V. Nobbman

We have much to celebrate and be thankful for in November of 2024. Another American presidential election has successfully taken place, just as it has every four years in the 248-year history of this Republic of the United States of America. On January 20, 2025, America will once again reset and reboot our governmental leadership at all levels of our federal, state, and local offices across the nation by retaining some politicians and giving others the boot.

It is a proven process of transferring power on a clockwork four-year basis, which has kept the United States of America the greatest country in the world for nearly two and a half centuries. Quite the accomplishment for a democracy, thanks be to God’s blessing on us! Let us praise God daily for making the last 248 years something truly special to celebrate.

Next up is Thanksgiving Day, an annual celebration of the founding of our nation and the plethora of blessings God has bestowed on this American nation since the English settlers established themselves at Jamestown, Virginia, in 1607 and held thanksgiving services. Followed by when the Mayflower Pilgrims landed at Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where they founded the Plymouth Colony in 1620. Their first Thanksgiving celebration dates back to 1621 when they shared a harvest festival with the Native Americans who helped them with their crops. The courage and perseverance of the early Pilgrims, by the grace of God, became a cherished and celebrated part of our American heritage up to the present day.

On October 3, 1789, George Washington made the first presidential proclamation setting aside a day in November for citizens to celebrate what we call ‘Thanksgiving Day’ today. Have you ever read his proclamation? I have attached it below for you to read for yourself all the references to God, the Ruler of all Nations, and how we should give humble thanks.

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor– and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.

Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be– That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks–for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation–for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war–for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed–for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted–for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions– to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually–to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed–to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord–To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us–and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New York on the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

Go: Washington

This is just one of many examples in our nation’s historical documents about how our nation was indeed based on a Judeo-Christian foundation, which Satan does not want anyone in the United States to know about in our revisionist history taught to us today.

Then comes Christmas, a day set aside in December each year, originally intended as a day for us to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God. Today, it seems the 25th of December has become more of a secular and pagan observance with each passing year; however, the millions of Christians still residing in America today help ensure that our nation remembers and retains the original intended spirit of the Christmas season from year to year, in order that we are still able to celebrate the real ‘reason for the season,’ which is to praise and glorify Jesus Christ.

Most of our favorite traditional pre-20th century Christmas hymns and songs contained sacred references to honor the birth of Jesus Christ and the saving impact of his life on us. Most of our traditional Christmas songs in the 20th century became more secular in nature.

It is amazing the diverse group of men and women God chose to write, compose, and translate our traditional Christmas songs and hymns. Some were wealthy, and others were professional musicians, but in many, many cases, God chose either poor people or individuals with all sorts of physical ailments and infirmities or societal obstacles to overcome in order to create our traditional Christmas music over the course of centuries.

If you wish to learn more about our traditional Christmas music and the people behind it, in order to help your celebration of Christmas this year, I wrote a book published in 2018 titled The Lives of the Christmas Music Makers, which takes a deep dive into the biographies of the people who God used to create our traditional Christmas songs and hymns as we know them today. You can find it for sale on Amazon and other online places.

As I said at the beginning of this article, Americans have much to celebrate during the remainder of this year and in the years to come, for as long we continue as a unified nation.

Ultimately, though, the best thing we have to celebrate is what Jesus Christ did for us after his birth and during his relatively short life on earth. After a three-year ministry intended not only for the spiritual edification of the Israelite people but for all the Gentile people of the world as well, right up to the present day, Jesus willingly laid down his life and shed his blood as a sacrificial lamb to make us righteous with God the Father. Then, through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, He was victorious over death, making it possible for all who believe in Him to have eternal life with God the Father and God the Son. That is truly a cause for joyous celebration every year. My best advice—is to believe in Jesus Christ.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

Celebrate a new life in Christ this holiday season by giving your heart and life to Jesus.
