Vaarroooom, Varroom – Caarashhhh! :: By Jim Towers

As I drove through the parking lot at Winn-Dixie looking for a place to park, I spotted a man sitting on the display of plastic chairs in front of the store.  He was big, bald, and looked bad–very bad.  This big, bad brute was someone you would think was on his way to hell for sure.  He had big red and black tattoos all over his body, some skulls and crossbones, and even snakes slithering on both of his arms. They were even on the back of his big bald head, on which he also had a big red scar across his tattooed dome, from side to side – ear to ear.

I parked and grabbed a couple of tracts, intending to disperse them to people I would meet. But God had other plans, and prompting me, I felt compelled to speak to the big, bad dude concerning the salvation message.

I approached him and introduced myself as I sat next to him.  “Do you mind if I sit here?

“No, sir, go right ahead.”

“What prompted you to call me ‘sir’?” I asked.

He said, “That’s just me.”

We talked for a while about motorcycles, and I shifted into gear. “Are you a Christian?”

“I’m a Catholic,” he replied.

Then I asked him if he believed in God and Jesus Christ.  He said “yes” and that God and Jesus were one and the same.

George continued, “Yes, He talked to me while I was in the hospital in a coma.” George said he had been riding his motorcycle without a helmet when he had a terrific accident and ended up in the hospital, barely alive.  “I just got out of the hospital after being in a coma for two months. My wife said I even died twice on the operating table. I had head trauma,” he said, pointing to his head. “The doctors put a steel plate in my head, too.” He sniffed. “I suffered other injuries as well.” And he went on to mention them: broken ribs, broken shoulder blade, and more, boasting.

Hoping to hear a story of a near-death experience, I then asked what he remembered about his near-death experience. He said he remembered nothing except that God had spoken to him, and he, in turn, pleaded for his life. “Father God, I have a son that I want to bring up. Please don’t let me die!”

By now, the hairs on my arms were standing straight up.  I was going to have a hand in leading this heavy-duty biker to Christ, and I knew it!

I very clearly explained the Gospel of Salvation.  John 3:16 came to mind first, and then other appropriate verses came to mind as well. I finally asked, “What is your name?”  He replied, “George.” He continued with, “I haven’t slept for days, afraid I might not wake up next time.” Tears welled up in his bloodshot eyes.

I continued, “George, are you ready – here and now – to repent, receive God’s forgiveness, and receive Jesus Christ as your Savior?” Without reservation, he replied, “Yes, oh God – yes!”  I prayed with him, “Father in heaven, Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and George here needs the peace that only Jesus can give.”

In leading him to faith in Christ, George asked Jesus to come into his life, save him, and give him the peace he needed to be able to sleep, even as weekend shoppers swirled all around us.

Because he was from out of town, I told George to join a Bible-believing church and be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, then get a Bible and learn about the things of God.  We were, for a moment of time, in another realm, the realm of the Spirit.

We had no sooner finished praying than his wife came out of the grocery store with two bags of groceries in hand, and he introduced her to me.

I introduced myself and said, “George just received Jesus Christ as his Savior! And he will be able to sleep tonight.”

“Oh, how wonderful,” she said, nearly dropping the bags. “I’m so glad. I’ve been praying for him continuously since the accident, praying that someone somewhere would lead him to faith in Jesus Christ. “Thank you, sir! Thank you, Jesus, hallelujah!! The young woman could barely contain herself. George choked back his tears and wiped his eyes with the backs of his beefy hands and rose to help his wife with the bags.

After giving George a tract from my church, I continued on my way. Both George and his wife were beaming as I left them, and I fully expected that George slept peacefully that night for the first time in a long time.

Book report

I’ve been reading all I can about President Trump and have read at least four books about him. There is something strange about that man, and I just want to be ready when the “Trump of God” sounds to take us believers home. (Is Donald’s name a play on words – and is God trying to tell us something?) I don’t know, but one thing I’m sure of is that we will be raptured soon -very soon.

The books about President Trump include Disloyal, a memoir written by Michael Cohen, his former lawyer, who was sent to prison for various infractions of the law. He says Trump threw him under the bus.

Trump Aftershock by Stephen E. Strang, the founder of Covenant House Publishing. Mr. Strang writes nothing bad about Donald Trump and, in fact, promotes him in every way.

Writer Michael Wolf, author of Too Famous, seems to delight in taking people down (as if he’s the only person in the world with morals), including President Trump. I also read his other book, Fire and Fury.

Author Emily Jane Fox has written a book titled Born Trump in which she discloses the mentality of the entire Trump family with all their quirks and only mentions Donald disparagingly on occasion. She has nothing good to say about him.

Donation Drive May to July

Once again, it is time for me to give a report on our accomplishments over the last quarter and ask for your continued support. Rapture Ready continues to rank as the top site in Bible prophecy.

I have some good news in our battle with social media. For the past three years, big tech sites have been using their monopoly power to crush sites run by Christians, Republicans, and certain Libertarian organizations. Social Media has the power to pull the plug on anyone without notice.

About a month ago, I was listening to George Gammon, who posts videos on financial matters like the nation’s debt and other threats to our fiscal health. One day, he said this might be my last broadcast on YouTube. Gammon had two different sites that were blocked without warning. A few days later, Gammon got all his sites unblocked. He was told it was all part of a misunderstanding.

George Gammon purposely avoids any discussion of politics. His site bio shows he only wants to help people:

“This channel will help you build and protect wealth through investing, real estate, and an extreme dose of the economic RED PILL. By using a unique strategy, I’ve increased my personal freedom and thrived financially in a world of out-of-control central banks and big governments. And now I’m going to teach you to do the same.”

Gammon joined YouTube in 2013 and has built up a following of half a million subscribers. It is troubling to realize that anyone can ban your content without warning or review. Before I decided to pull all ads on RR, I would get daily emails saying that we can’t have certain ads because they violated constantly changing rules.

It was very pleasing to read that Attorney General Pam Bondi hosted an inaugural meeting of a task force consisting of other members of President Donald Trump’s cabinet to discuss its mission to eradicate alleged “anti-Christian bias” within the federal government.

The task force is an initiative born out of a February executive order by Trump, in which the president accused former President Joe Biden’s administration of fostering an “anti-Christian weaponization of government.” Bondi quoted a part of Trump’s order at the beginning of a meeting, saying, “The Biden administration engaged in an egregious pattern of targeting peaceful Christians, while ignoring violent anti-Christian offenses.”

Among the several examples of supposed anti-Christian bias Trump listed in his executive order was the mention of federal cases in which anti-abortion activists had been convicted of violating the federal Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, or FACE Act.

There are major DOJ lawsuits against social media for monopolistic tactics. Because these firms have become massive, even with a long winning streak, it will take years to restore full liberty. As a student of Bible prophecy, I know that all forms of freedom will be taken away. We firmly believe that despotism will not come until after the rapture.

“To stay afloat, Rapture Ready relies on your financial support. We face a time when all Christian websites may be banned, but before that dark hour, all believers will be gathered in the “Blessed Hope.”
