The Juggernaut Constructing The Ziggurat :: By Dave Hubley

(There is a special message at the end of this article for those who might happen to read this and do not have Jesus in their life and are looking for peace and a way to better understand the present-day insanity and confusion.)

According to Merriam-Webster: The meaning of JUGGERNAUT is: a massive inexorable force, campaign, movement, or object that crushes whatever is in its path.

Most people have heard of the Tower of Babel (ziggurat) and are somewhat familiar with the “story” of the scrambling of languages that the Lord did there, whether they have read God’s Word or completely ignore it (and everywhere in between).

The account specific to the Tower is recorded in the Book of Genesis.

1 Now the whole world had one language and a common form of speech. 2 And as people journeyed eastward, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. 3 And they said to one another, ‘Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.’ So they used brick instead of stone, and tar instead of mortar. 4 ‘Come,’ they said, ‘let us build for ourselves a city with a tower that reaches to the heavens, that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of all the earth.’

5 Then the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the sons of men were building. 6 And the LORD said, ‘If they have begun to do this as one people speaking the same language, then nothing they devise will be beyond them. 7 Come, let Us go down and confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.’

8 So the LORD scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it is called Babel, for there the LORD confused the language of the whole world, and from that place the LORD scattered them over the face of all the earth” (Genesis 1:1-9)

I would call your attention to verses 6-7. For the sake of this discussion, I have emphasized the text above.

Indeed, the “language barrier” has been a formidable force over the history of the world. It has prevented a great deal of harm and (subjectively) “progress.”

It could also be argued (and many will) that it has inhibited the accomplishment of things that are beneficial to mankind.

The question that must then be asked is: Which diametrically opposed result would have outpaced the other? Good or evil?

As God’s Word clearly states:

“Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5).

“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9).

If we perform an honest evaluation about the world we live in today, we might be forced to ask ourselves:

  • What has changed about mankind?
  • Which is “winning,” good or evil?

Now I would call your attention to verse 6 above.

Man has, through diligence and driven by the desire to be “master” of his own destiny, managed to circumvent the language barrier.

He has invented and utilizes modern-day computer technology, and he has turned it to great evil. He has built, and continues to refine, the Ziggurat of modern-day rebellion that is contained within the chips, microprocessors and integrated circuits of modern-day technology: Fueled by evil and Godless greed, it is being wielded like a bludgeon.

Is it fair to say that the “Great Reset” and “Juggernaut” share a common and shared meaning and purpose?

Utilizing this technology, peoples of different nations, ideologies and languages are now able to communicate instantly in spite of their differences.

Man has built this technology into a juggernaut driving the world toward a one-world governance that will possess feet of iron and clay. As the book of Daniel describes:

“Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom as strong as iron; for iron shatters and crushes all things, and like iron that crushes all things, it will shatter and crush all the others. And just as you saw that the feet and toes were made partly of fired clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom, yet some of the strength of iron will be in it—just as you saw the iron mixed with clay. And as the toes of the feet were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. As you saw the iron mixed with clay, so the peoples will mix with one another, but will not hold together any more than iron mixes with clay.

“In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will shatter all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, but will itself stand forever. And just as you saw a stone being cut out of the mountain without human hands, and it shattered the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold, so the great God has told the king what will happen in the future” (Daniel 2:40-45). (Emphasis added by me.)

This “Great Reset,” the vehicle by which its purveyors expect to rule the world, is, after all, a product of man’s vanity.

The resulting “New World Order” and “One World Government” will not survive the Sovereign Lord’s plans for His One World Government.

“Behold, a king will reign righteously And princes will rule justly” (Isaiah 32:1).

Important: This article should not be interpreted as claiming that God has been “foiled” or “defeated” by man thus far in the execution of his ongoing and never ceasing acts of rebellion.

That is not even remotely possible.

God declares the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10).

He knows all, and He permits what He will in order to further His plans. In spite of how things appear, we should remind ourselves in the midst of it that God is Sovereign over all His creation, and He will bring about all that He has promised.

The weight of fulfilled prophecy confirms that incontrovertible fact.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

As man has ever done, he has eventually turned good to evil, light to darkness, and sweet to bitter.

Those depraved juxtapositions will be a Woe to the world of unbelieving humans.

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20).

“Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure” (Isaiah 46:9-10).

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7).

And, a more important question(s) is:

  • Is the juggernaut really inexorable? Is this human-designed, Satanic juggernaut unstoppable?

I don’t think Merriam-Webster’s definition has it quite right in this case. I don’t believe their definition applies when the will of El Shaddai, God Almighty, is applied to it.

The “juggernaut” will not only be stopped, but it will be crushed by the Lord of Creation when His Son Jesus Christ returns, not as the Sacrificial Lamb for sin as He was on His first advent, but this second and last time He will return as the Lion of Judah come to execute judgment on a world permeated with evil and depravity.

Take heart, brothers and sisters, in the age-old rhetorical question of God Almighty:

“Indeed before the day was, I am He; And there is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?” (Isaiah 43:13).

Now to the crux of this article.

Throughout God’s Word (both Old and New Testaments), He has made it clear that He does not want anyone to perish. He has, and will again, literally move heaven and earth to save the lost.

These two verses alone make that abundantly clear:

(2 Peter 3:8-9) and (1 Timothy 2:3-6)

You can look them up yourself if you have a Bible.

If you do not, perhaps my friend, it is time to acquire one. For the time being, the Bible is readily available; however, even that will change:

“‘Behold, days are coming,’ declares the Lord GOD, ‘When I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine for bread or a thirst for water, But rather for hearing the words of the LORD. People will stagger from sea to sea And from the north even to the east; They will go to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, But they will not find it(Amos 8:11-12) (Emphasis added by me.)

It must also be pointed out that there is a limit to His Mercy and His Grace. He will execute judgment on those who reject His Son Jesus Christ, who sacrificed Himself to pay for the sins of all people.

“And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world” (1 John 2:2).

However, it must be pointed out that, in order to be redeemed, that is, to be saved from the consequences of your own sin, you must repent and ask for forgiveness according to God’s own Word and on His terms. (Please see the special message below.)

I pray that you will open your eyes to the world around you and that reality will cause you to open the “eyes of your heart” to the Mercy and Love of Jesus Christ.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life:

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms.

And, what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word.

He always has. He always will.

John 5:24: “Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life.”

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God with all your heart, He will hear you. “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).

Hebrews Study :: Security Leads to Maturity :: By Sean Gooding

Hebrews 6:1-8

“Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits. 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame. 7

“For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God; 8 but if it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned” (NKJV).

The next part of the text that we are going to explore is one of the most controversial passages in the Bible. There are some disputes among Bible scholars, and this has raged for a long time. I was in seminary 38+ years ago, and we had a very serious discussion about this passage. But the writer is dealing with spiritual maturity. He is encouraging us to grow up and be deliberate in living out our faith in Jesus. He is encouraging the Jewish readers to stop wavering between Judaism and Christianity; pick one and live by it. This writer, Paul, as far as I can tell, is persuaded that Christianity is the way to go.

In this passage, he will deal with two (2) types of insecurities, and he will force us to move forward or simply leave us behind. You see, he is about to wade into the deep end of the pool doctrinally, and if we are wavering or immature, we are going to get bogged down and confused and miss the story. Let this verse resonate in your mind, and if you get it, it will reframe how you read the Old Testament:

John 5:39 NKJV, “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.”

He was speaking this to the Pharisees, and Jesus was telling them that the entire Torah, Psalms, Proverbs and Prophets were about Him; Jesus is the subject of the Old Testament. Paul will jump to that, and we must be able to understand what he is saying. One of my favorite commentators, Guzik, really lays out this passage we are about to explore, very well.

  • Impossible, verse 4

The word impossible here is the same one used in other passages in Hebrews to explain that it is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18); Impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6); Impossible for the blood of goats to take away our sins (Hebrews 10:4). These things simply cannot happen; ever. Whatever He is about to instruct us in is impossible, and He is emphatic in the impossibility thereof. Sometimes we miss these nuances and miss the emphasis that is implied in the text.

  • Important Words and Phrases, verses 4-5

Enlightened – a Greek word that explains the idea of a light source shining on someone.

Tasted – a Greek word that means to test something in a real sense. Jesus ‘tasted death’ (Hebrews 2:9) for everyone. Jesus died. This person experienced the heavenly gift, salvation (Romans 6:23).

Partakers of the Holy Spirit – this Greek phrase is a unique term in the New Testament referring to sharing the Holy Spirit; actually, receiving and fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit.

Tasted of the good word of God – experienced and saw the goodness of God’s Word working in them.

The power of the age to come – this was a way of experiencing God’s supernatural power. These persons had experience with God’s supernatural power firsthand.

When one adds these together, these are people who have been saved. They saw the new light, they tasted it and experienced it, like Jesus experienced death; they have the Holy Spirit in them and fellowshipped with Him; they saw God’s Word at work in their lives and saw God’s supernatural power for themselves. The one conclusion is that they are saved. They surely had fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and that only comes to the saved.

  • Immature Issue, verse 6

The falling away refers to two ideas here:

One is that if there is a return to Judaism and the rituals and practices thereof once you are saved, there is still no hope. There are still no other answers. Jesus is still it. Remember the verse in John 5:39; all the Torah, all the sacrifices and the laws are designed to point one to Jesus. There is no ‘new’ repentance here. It is a pointless act of going backward, and this did happen. Some did not return to Judaism; they just left like Demas (2 Timothy 4:10). Yes, even saved people can abandon the faith and return to the world.

The other idea of falling away has to do with losing one’s salvation: if you turn away from the salvation that you have and have experienced, you can never return and be saved again if you were able to lose it. The only way to do that is for Jesus to come and die again. That is not going to happen. Thus, if one were to become lost again after one had been saved, there would be no hope and no more redemption. The idea that one can be saved, lose it, and then get it back is a Biblical myth. At best (worst, if you really think it out), you could lose it but never get it back.

Both lead to immaturity. In one case, you are saved but never actually know if you are saved; there is no sure-footed foundation upon which to build a life for Jesus. And in the other, you found the only answer for salvation but were not satisfied. You have nowhere else to go, so you will remain immature until Jesus returns. Maturity requires that we repent and accept that security in Jesus that we have on one hand; and if we are saved, we stop looking for answers elsewhere. Growth and maturity in Jesus require security. We will explore this next time.
