The Fate of Islam in Light of Bible Prophecy :: By Dr Nathan E Jones

What is the fate of Islam in light of Bible prophecy?

Does the Bible prophesy that Islam will conquer the entire world and usher in Sharia law on a global scale? Or will this violent ideology, which has brought so much suffering and death to billions over the centuries, and sent millions to Hell, be, at last, reaching its final hour?

To answer these questions, Tim Moore and Nathan Jones traveled to the annual Pre-Trib Study Group Conference held every December in the Dallas, Texas area. You won’t find a larger gathering of experts in Bible prophecy than the one where these professors of prophecy meet to share their research on eschatology.

Destroyed by the Antichrist

Don PerkinsI don’t see Islam taking over the entire world, even though they are taking ground through population jihad. Throughout the world, Muslims are buying up land and property. Countries are allowing them to buy property and build Islamic-only communities, even right here in America. They’re building one in Dallas, but thank God for Texas’s governor shutting things down. Islam has a silent agenda by taking ground piece by piece.

I do believe that Islam will be dealt with by God when the Antichrist comes on the scene. The Bible prophesies that the Antichrist will worship no god but the god of munitions. Islam, then, will have a problem with the Antichrist, or let’s say this: the Antichrist will have a problem with Islam. Whatever kind of ground they’ve gained, it’s going to be short-lived because the Antichrist will not allow any other religion other than the worship of himself. A lot of people have different ideas about that, but I believe that Islam will not be a world conqueror, for that’s not how Scripture reads.

Joe HawkinsI definitely do not see an Islamic takeover of the world. I believe that there’s going to come a point when people, especially here in America, will refuse to become Islamized. Sections may, yes, but not the entire world.

Christians are going to be taken out of here at the Rapture. Islam will refuse to fall in line with the Antichrist’s Beast system. They’re not going to fall in line with worshipping the Antichrist, and so he will cause Islam to cease to exist. But, on this side of the Rapture, Muslims are certainly going to do their best to try to take control of all the land they can in Allah’s name. That’s what Islam does. Islam is a religion of control and submission.

Destroyed by God

While our last two prophecy experts saw the fate of Islam being at the bloody hands of the coming one-world ruler, the Antichrist, our next few panelists look to Islam’s potential defeat in the coming war of Gog and Magog, followed by Islam’s remnants being absorbed into the Babylonian one-world religion that will dominate the first half of the Tribulation.

Pete GarciaThis is my opinion on how I read Ezekiel 38–39 concerning the Gog-Magog War. I see God pulling Muslims, both Sunni and Shia, from all directions, to come against Israel. Islam is going to take advantage of a crisis led by Gog. I think it’s going to happen because of the Rapture, as that would cause a global crisis that will destabilize the U.S., or at least take us out of the picture for a while. We won’t be there to support Israel militarily or politically, economically, or in any other way.

The Islamic world is going to take advantage of that crisis to march against Israel. It’ll be like the Crusades, but in reverse. The Islamic coalition, though, will be wiped out by God supernaturally. By the end of that supernatural defeat, Islam is going to have lost a lot of its militant power and forces. Muslims will then roll into whatever the final iteration of the final world religion will be.

Lee BrainardBible prophecy teachers are somewhat divided on whether Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38–39 are two distinct events. I tend to put them as one big event, but with two different motives coming together. A confederation of the Russian-led juggernaut and the Arab nations will join to come against Israel. When the fire descends from the heavens to bring judgment on the Gog and Magog juggernaut, that is not only going to destroy that gathered army, but the Scriptures are very clear that the fire is also going to fall on those nations that dwell in Magog and live carelessly in the isles.

The result of this war is the decimation of the two most powerful forces in the Middle East outside of America and her Western allies, which would be Russia and its allies, fundamentalist Islam. This war is going to leave a vacuum in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as in Europe, which the revived Roman Empire will step into. So Islam’s militant force is going to be largely erased by the Gog-Magog War. Islam is going to be largely smashed by the fire that falls from the heavens.

As a result, a lot of Muslims are going to be awakened to the falsity of Islam and instead embrace the God of Israel because the God of Israel had defended the Jewish people. But then whoever is not killed or converted is going to be molded into the one-world whore religion. Muslims will face the same choice that everybody else in the Tribulation will face. You can either lose your head, or you’re going to worship the Antichrist. Every religion on Earth is going to come down that road.

Mondo GonzalesI’ve encountered a lot of different perspectives, including everything from an Islamic Antichrist to Ezekiel 38, where God judges the invading hordes, and fire from heaven incinerates the coastlines to subdue the Islamic religion.

When you think about the Harlot from the book of Revelation, it is a religious system. Islam is kind of this enigmatic topic, for where does it end up in the last days? It’s hard to believe that even if Islam was humbled by God before the start of the Tribulation, should Ezekiel 38 happen then, that Islam would still not become a part of the Harlot system during at least the first three and a half years, because the Harlot is going to become a worldwide religious system. But, by the midpoint of the Tribulation, as we know, the Harlot religion is going to be burned with fire so that there’s no room for any competition with the Antichrist’s desire to be worshipped alone.

Carl BroggiWe do know that there’s going to be a one-world religion during the first half of the Tribulation. It’ll be a collection of all the world’s religions. Then, in the middle of the Tribulation, when the Antichrist is miraculously healed, he’ll want exclusive worship and demand singular worship towards him.

Islam is part of that whole prophetic plan. Number one, we know it’s a core group of Islamic nations that are going to attack Israel, according to Ezekiel, which I suspect will wipe out so many Muslims. Islam’s defeat at the hands of God will allow for the Temple to be rebuilt.

Then there’s the connection between Roman Catholicism and Islam. These two religious systems share many commonalities that people sometimes haven’t considered. Even the recent decision by the Pope to officially deny certain things that they still practice, butts up to Islam. As we can see, prophetic events are falling into place in that realm.

Turning to Faith in Jesus Christ

Tom Hughes rightly pointed to the fact that no matter how prophetic events finally play out, all false religions, including Islam, will end at last upon the return of our Savior Jesus Christ. We are happy to say that one and only one religion will define the Millennial Kingdom—the worship of King Jesus.

Tom HughesIn Islam, there are the Shiites and the Sunni factions. The Muslim nations are not getting along with each other, so you have that dynamic. I think it was Jack Kinsella who used to say, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” So, Israel is still the enemy, and yet the Muslims can’t get along. If they’re not attacking Israel, they are attacking each other.

Prophetically, the day of Islam’s demise is coming. We learn from Isaiah 19 that Israel will turn to the Lord. Isaiah 19 reveals that Egypt and what would’ve been the former land of Assyria, meaning the predominantly Arab-slash-Muslim territories right now, are going to have a “coming to Jesus” moment. Likewise, Daniel 11 specifies that the area that is currently modern-day Jordan will come to faith in God’s son. Currently, Jordanians definitely have no love for Israel. Even when you’re talking to those who claim to be Christians over in Jordan, they do not love Israel and the Jews.

And yet, the day is coming when those predominantly Muslim territories will turn to Yeshua. Does that transition happen during the Tribulation or by the end of the Tribulation? I’m thinking it does. But in the meantime, I also don’t see Islam as being the religion of the last days that the Antichrist is going to rise out of, either.

The Amazing Millennium from A to Z, Part 6 :: By Robert Asher Mandel

S is for Spiritual

Isaiah 29:20

“The scoffer will be gone, the arrogant will disappear, and those who plot evil will be killed. Those who convict the innocent by their false testimony will disappear.”

Jeremiah 32:39-40

“And I will give them one heart, in appearance, speech and behavior, and one purpose: to worship me forever for their own good and for the good of all their descendants. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good for them. I will put a desire in their hearts to worship me, and they will never leave me.”

Asher:   To be spiritual simply means to be filled with and guided by the Spirit of God. In Romans 8:14, Paul says, “…those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” The Kingdom Age will be marked by overwhelming numbers of people in every nation who will be “led by the Spirit.” Having enjoyed a long career in teaching, I have often marveled at the similarities between children and their parents. In appearance, speech and behavior, children often mirror their parents to a great degree! So shall the children of God do in Kingdom days! 1 John 3:2 reveals an amazing secret:

“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and we have not yet been shown what we will be in the future. But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like him, because we will see him as he really is.”

The Millennial Kingdom of God will be filled with the spiritual children of God who will speak, act and love just like their heavenly Father! Praise the Lord!

Seth: Isaiah, Joel and Ezekiel all have millennial passages about God’s Spirit being poured out on His people in the end days. IN the Millennial Kingdom, this will exceed anything ever seen before! God couples one of the passages with a picture of water being poured out on the desert. Like so many other passages of scripture, this may also have a double fulfillment, being the literal water turns the desert green in the Millennium and at the same time, being the living water that refreshes our spirits! We get the sense that this crucial, life-giving ingredient was previously in short supply, but in Millennial days will drench all creation abundantly. Then the words of the ancient Jewish prophet, Joel, will finally be fulfilled:

“You will have plenty to eat, until you are full,
and you will praise the name of the Lord your God,
who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed.
Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the Lord your God,
and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed” (Joel 2:26-27).

T is for Thankful

Jeremiah 30:19

“From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing.
I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased;
I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained.”

Revelation 11:17

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.”

Asher:  No one can know or show thankfulness better than those who have been born again by the Spirit of God! WE have been forgiven of our sins; given a clean, new nature; inhabited by the Holy Spirit; promised an eternal inheritance of blessings and, best of all, betrothed as a bride to Christ, the object of His affection and protection forever! We will need a millennium to express our gratitude to the Lord! Our joy will show on the face of every child of God every hour of every day for a thousand years! And that’s only the beginning!

Seth:  Imagine that the same man who pardoned you for every wrong thing you ever did then died to save you and then arose to give you every good thing imaginable! Our glorious king has done just that! He told us to “fear not, little flock, for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom”! He also promised us that we:

“shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree, and no one shall make them afraid, for the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken” (Micah 4:4).

I have suffered much of my life with an abnormally high level of anxiety, so these verses really resonate with my soul. The tender compassion that God has for His children helps me envision a future where thankfulness will fill our every breath.

U is for Unity

“The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name” (Zechariah 14:9).

“And foreigners who bind themselves to the Lord to minister to him,
to love the name of the Lord, and to be his servants,
all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to my covenant—
these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar;
for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
The Sovereign Lord declares – he who gathers the exiles of Israel:
‘I will gather still others to them besides those already gathered’” (Is. 56:6-8).

Asher: As a youngster in Hebrew School, I learned to sing a popular Israeli song taken from Psalm 131. “Hee-nay ma-tov oo ma na-yeem, she-vet acheem gom ya-chad.” The translation is this:

“Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity.”

I have worshipped in the churches of four cultures different from my own, including an Arabic church. I have corresponded with believers in seven different countries and personally met with believers from 25 more. Each time I have “cross-cultural fellowship (no pun intended), I experience anew the amazing unity which only God can bring about! In the marvelous Millennium, all peoples will be speaking the same language, united in the praises and the purposes of their one true King and Savior, Jesus Christ. “How good and how pleasant” that will be!

Seth: In Zechariah 2:10, 11, it says:

“Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you, declares the Lord. Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.”

Can you imagine the prosperity of a world where everyone is in agreement with God’s perfect word? The unity of the people in the Millennial Kingdom will be like no other time in human history. People will be working hard for common purposes, building a beautiful world which God had long ago promised to Israel and to all who believe!

V is for Victorious

Isaiah 41:11-13

“All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

Psalm 98:1-3

“Sing a new song to the Lord, For He has done wonderful things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him. The Lord has made His salvation known; He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations. He has remembered His graciousness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.”

Asher:  First John 3:2 says:

“Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.”

What will it mean to be “made like Jesus”? It will mean that every minute of every day, we will know perfect peace, purpose and power! In our “glorified bodies,” we will be empowered to help, heal and bless others just as Jesus did when he walked the earth the first time! Looking forward in time, Jesus once said this:

“Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do…” (John 14:12a).

The victorious life we will live in the Millennium will mean that we will be free at last to fully experience heavenly Father’s love and power every day and to channel that love into the lives of others. With this kind of victory in view, Charles Spurgeon once said:

“My soul…see to it that thou art at peace with this mighty king, yea, more, be sure to enlist under his mighty banner, for to war against him is madness and to serve him is glory!”

Seth:  In Psalm 2 and in other places, the Bible declares that, in the Kingdom Age, the Lord will rule the nations with a “rod of iron” and make his enemies lick the dust. All tribes on the earth will bow to him. But in addition to his great power, he will also display great mercy and justice. So while certain verses make the Lord sound severe, it will only be with the rebellious. For all who trust in the Lord, there will be nothing to fear.

At the close of the 1,000-year Millennium, Christ will loose Satan from the abyss, and humanity’s final rebellion will commence. This is truly when Jesus achieves his final victory over evil. He destroys Satan along with all of his human and demonic followers, and the glorious eternal state can begin!
