Elections And Your Soul: A Prophetic Account :: By Bill Wilson

There has been much rhetoric surrounding the elections. Even the “President” has pitted Americans against one another, inferring that God-fearing people believing in the sanctity of life are a grave threat to America.

There have been ads on TV by Democratic candidates openly depicting that their opponents who are pro-life are dangerous.

The “President” has made statements that conservative Republicans are akin to terrorists. They have said that the movement of this element of society must be killed. They have actually characterized as terrorists parents who do not want their children to be subject to sexual mutilation and predation by homosexual and sexual deviants in public schools.

This will not go away because of an election.

This is a season not unlike the times of Noah. But remember Ecclesiastes 3:1-8,

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

This is a season where good men and women are facing a defining moment of what is right and just, and that which is evil. It is a time to examine our hearts and what we believe is to be the definition of our soul, the soul of our family, and the soul of our country. We must determine where we are on the spectrum of seasons so wisely and aptly described in Ecclesiastes.

Is yours a time to build up, to cast away, to rend or sew, to keep silent or to speak? What is the Lord telling you?

For you must know that just because of an election, the hearts of those who are in opposition to the Lord, whether they are elected leaders or those in the pulpit, will not change because people have voted. It is important to align our will with the will of the Lord and behave accordingly.

No matter how the elections turn out. Know that your eternal hope is in the Lord Almighty, not in government. Government is not God. For those who believe all their hope is in government, they are rejecting God. They, whether knowingly or not, are worshipping another god. And surely they will have their reward.

As Christ said in Matthew 6:19- 21, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal; But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

You are of another Kingdom. You are especially made to carry on the will of God here in an earthly vessel. Never forget it.

Wake Up, Really :: By Bill Wilson

One of the most disturbing polls taken to date states that “When asked which institutions can help create meaningful change in a divided nation, Americans overwhelmingly believe the government (at the national, state and local levels) is responsible for curing the ills of the United States.”

According to this Barna poll, “Half of Americans see the federal government as responsible for making things better—that’s twice the number that hold religious organizations or Christians churches responsible for making real change possible.”

Aside from the very fact that Christians and Christian churches are failing at influencing the moral fabric of this country, this Barna poll indicates a very sinister trend that should alarm every American.

In 2019, Gallup reported that some 43% of Americans viewed socialism as a good thing for America. This compared with 25% in 1942.

Gallup said, “A majority of Democrats have said they view socialism positively in Gallup polling since 2010, including 57% in the most recent measure in 2018.”

The Gallup survey, taken in April 2019, also found that nearly 30% of Americans want government distribution of wealth, 35% want government responsibility for wages, and 33% want government control over the economy.

Interesting that these percentages coincide with the percentage of the population who are also registered Democrats, although the Gallup survey did not distinguish party affiliation.

The Communist Manifesto says, “But communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis; it therefore acts in contradiction to all past historical experience.”

Other linchpins of communism are enumerated in the Manifesto:

1) Abolition of property ownership

2) a heavy progressive income tax

3) abolition of all rights of inheritance

4) confiscation of property

5) centralization of credit

6) centralization of transportation

7) centrally planned economy

8) obligation to work

9) abolishing distinction between towns and country

10) a free education for children

Socialism and communism depend on replacing God with government.

The Barna poll indicates government is in. God is out.

We need to sound the warning bells from the church tops. Trouble is the “church” is a huge part of the problem. And it needs to wake up. Instead of teaching a self-indulgent, emotional, extra-biblical doctrine, the “feel good” preachers, pastors, and priests need to wake up to the power of the gospel. The country is turning to government as god!

Exodus 20:3 says, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

When government replaces God, bad things happen.

Barna’s poll shows that “Compared to all U.S. adults, practicing Christians are much more likely to say that Christian leaders (49%) and religious leaders (44%) should bring about meaningful change.”

Key word here is “should.” Christian leaders have people willing to follow. They need to wake up and lead. You see what’s happening.
