Research shows Minnesota gave probation instead of prison to predators on 85% of convictions for possession of child sexual abuse imagery and 75% of production and distribution convictions. The outbreak is driving up prices for eggs and chicken that, like many costs, were already rising. Scientists believe wild migratory birds brought this virus to North America a few months ago. Since then, over 40 wild bird species in over 30 states have tested positive. Since related bird flu viruses have repeatedly jumped into people in the past, health experts are watching for signs of changes that could make the virus able to move into humans. CDC says there’s only a low risk to humans, but we’ve learned to take what CDC says with a grain of salt.
