Carolinas: Two killed during severe weather outbreak in Charlotte, North Carolina area. At least two people died last Friday after a line of powerful storms ripped across the Charlotte area, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and possible tornadoes to the Carolinas.
Tropical Storm Bertha, the second named storm of the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season, which normally begins in June, triggered record heavy rains and severe flooding in Florida last weekend and into this week before affecting the Carolinas and weakening to a tropical depression. Then it spread more rain across already-soaked southwest Virginia, renewing the risk of flooding. One person drowned at Myrtle Beach, SC. There were warnings posted against swimming, and no lifeguards were on duty.
Western Australia: Extreme ‘once-in-a-decade’ storm brings destructive winds and rain May 24 and 25, caused by remnants of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Mangga that hit a cold front. “This is a rare event for WA, particularly due to the extent of the area affected.”
Central America: Severe flooding hits Nicaragua, life-threatening flash floods expected across Central America into this coming week.
Kenya: Floods kill 285, affect over 810,000. Floods have been pounding Kenya since April, and crop loss may lead to food insecurity.
Turkey: Storm batters eastern Turkey, snowfall, hail disrupts life. As temperatures plummeted throughout Turkey following a heat wave, a cold front with strong winds, snowfall and hail brought winter back. A shepherd died in the storm, as well as many sheep. The more pressing area forecasters are focused on is located near the Arabian Peninsula. Meteorologists are monitoring an area of low pressure just north of Socotra, Yemen. “The heaviest rain will fall along the coast of Oman and the coast of Yemen. 380 mm (15 inches) is possible in this area including Salalah, Oman. This amount of rain would be about two years’ worth of rain for the city in just a few days.

From Jan. 1 to May 24, Chicago had 200 homicides compared with 176 during the same period last year. Shootings climbed from 679 to 826. In Democrat-run Los Angeles and New York, the number of homicides has increased so far this year.

They’ve burned down small businesses run by minorities. They invaded a police precinct and burned it down. They’ve beaten police officers. They’re shooting at random cars, and there are reports of carjackings, women being kidnapped. A woman has been found dead in her car with evidence of trauma. As of this writing (Friday), at least 170 businesses had been damaged or destroyed in Minneapolis this week in leftist rioting.

The research paper from Singapore’s National Centre for Infectious Diseases and Academy of Medicine, based on a study of 73 COVID-19 patients, showed that isolating or culturing the virus after 11 days was not possible.

The overcounts by the media are similar to the overcounts as of April 25, 2020, when the CDC also reported 20,000 fewer deaths than the media.
CDC and WHO offer conflicting advice on masks. How many times are these so-called experts going to change their minds? Now the World Health Organization this week is recommending healthy people, including those who don’t exhibit COVID-19 symptoms, only wear masks when taking care of someone infected. The recommendation differs from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) new guidelines this week that urges individuals to wear a mask or face covering in public settings, regardless of infection, to limit the spread of the virus. One “expert” said the conflict is because if the WHO advises universal mask-wearing in countries where it’s impossible to adhere to that guidance, it could hurt the WHO’s reputation in those countries.

AstraZeneca says it may consider exposing vaccine trial participants to coronavirus. The chief executive of AstraZeneca, which is developing a leading coronavirus vaccine with Oxford University, said it’s too early to deliberately expose trial participants to the pathogen, but it may be an option if tests hit a snag. The British drugmaker last week started phase 2 and 3 trials of the vaccine, looking to recruit around 10,000 adults and children in Britain. A certain number of participants will have to become infected to achieve a reliable reading from the study over the next few months. Since when can children be considered “volunteer” participants?
CA Doctors Say They’ve Seen More Suicide Deaths Than COVID Deaths During Lockdown. Two weeks to flatten the curve has turned into two months of oppressive lockdown policies which are themselves killing Americans. In the San Francisco Bay area, suicides and attempts are increasing at an alarming rate. The trauma dept chief at John Muir Medical Center said doctors there have seen more deaths by suicide than from coronavirus. A trauma nurse with 33 years of service echoed his comments.

Netanyahu: “Palestinians” in Jordan Valley won’t be Israeli citizens. He said they will remain in what he described as an “enclave” after Israel annexes the territory. He has vowed to press ahead with plans to annex the Jordan Valley and Jewish settlements in the West Bank, in line with President Trump’s Middle East plan, a process that could begin as early as July 1.
U.S. warns its nationals to avoid West Bank, Gaza amid annexation talks amid fears that annexation plans might spark a wave of violence. Many analysts speculate annexation could result in a violent “Palestinian” uprising.
Jordan’s Foreign Minister warns ‘Israeli annexation bid will have disastrous consequences.’ Ayman Safadi told UN Middle East envoy Nickolay Mladenov the Israeli plan to apply sovereignty to Judea and Samaria “will kill the two-state solution,” and he warns that the “world will not be able to remain silent in the face of [what he claims is ]institutionalized apartheid.” Safadi urged the international community to unite to halt the move and warned Mladenov of its potentially “disastrous consequences” on regional stability and security.
Turkey: We will not agree to annexation in Judea and Samaria. Turkey’s President Erdogan is warning Israel of the consequences, saying Turkey will not permit “Palestinian land” to be granted to anyone.
Dear Europe – the Israelis are not “your” Jews. It is written in the DNA of every Jewish person, man, woman, and child.” To European Commissioners, the Vatican, and Democrats who claim Israel violates international law by annexing 30% of Judea and Samaria: God covenanted Israel to the Jews and says in the last days they’d be back in their land. God is going to bring the nations to Armageddon for judgment over treatment of Israel (Joel 3).
Quartet talks Israeli-‘Palestinian’ peace amid PA push to replace Trump plan. The ‘Palestinian’ Authority’s push to replace the US as sole broker for the Israeli-‘Palestinian’ peace process failed to yield immediate results as a Quartet video conference ended without conclusions. Quartet representatives discussed Israeli plans to annex parts of the West Bank, and the July 1 deadline for Israel to begin to apply such sovereignty.
The Quartet is made up of representatives from the US, EU, UN and Russia. And the UN, Russia and EU stand behind the PA’s call for a two-state resolution based on the pre-1967 lines. This US administration supports a ‘Palestinian’ state, but not along those lines. However, the US explained that the PA can engage with its peace process without agreeing to the plan as currently written. The PA can suggest “realistic edits, and meaningful compromises.”
World leaders have long involved themselves in Israel’s affairs, including US presidents. Some have good intentions; others have evil intentions. No matter; God says do not divide My land.
The above article reminds me of a line in the song, American Pie: “The Quartet practiced in the park while we sang dirges in the dark.” However, there are lots of reasons to sing funeral dirges, as darkness reigns over the earth these days. It’s too late to “mince words.” It will continue to get worse since it’s obvious to those who study Bible prophecy that we’re in the very last days before Christ’s return. But those of us in Christ have “The Blessed Hope” (Titus 2:13). We will be caught up to be with Jesus and escape the coming wrath.

“The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it…
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn” (Zechariah 12:1-3, 9-10).
