Abortion Has Become a Religion of Depravity

The passage of Laws in Georgia, Alabama, Missouri and Ohio that place restriction on abortion has triggered a massive reaction from people on the left. They have gone into a mode that can only be described as fanatical. Not since ancient times, when people sacrificed children to their pagan gods, has there been a greater bloodlust for infanticide.

The reaction of some people is so over the top, you would wonder if comedy was their intention. Since no joke goes on this long, we can be sure that they represent a growing wave of insanity:

A hotel manager in a conservative Michigan town has publicly announced that she will provide free rooms and transportation to and from clinics for women seeking abortions from states that have placed restrictions on the procedure. Shelley O’Brien runs the Yale Hotel in Yale, Michigan, a city that, according to the Detroit Free Press, voted for President Donald Trump in 2016. He received 65% of the vote in the city.

The magazine Teen Vogue is now advising minors on ways they can violate their parents’ wishes and obtain an abortion without their permission. According to LifeSiteNews, the magazine that once advised teens on the virtues of anal sex has now published an article in which columnist Nona Willis Aronowitz instructs a pregnant 16-year-old girl how to get her desired abortion without setting off her Christian conservative parents’ pro-life radar.

Miley Cyrus can thank her famous dad for her teenage Disney Channel days as Hanna Montana. She has maintained her spot in the limelight by whoring herself out to various Hollywood vices. Cyrus was recently pictured licking a large white cake with the sides covered with rainbow sprinkles that read “ABORTION IS HEALTH CARE.” There were some terrific tweets about this picture. LifeNews.com was amazed, saying, “The irony of @Miley Cyrus using a birthday cake to promote abortions when abortions deny babies a birthday.”

Kylie Jenner is the youngest member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan. She faced backlash for a “Handmaid’s Tale”— themed party for her best friend, Anastasia Karanikolaou – complete with the story’s notorious red robes and white bonnets and themed cocktails with names like “praise be vodka.” Jenner was called “tone deaf” for adding sex and booze to a fictional tale where women are denied their basic human rights and forced into reproductive slavery. The Handmaid’s Tale outfit was already at a clownish level when Jenner joined in. Her involvement just shows the silliness of the connection to abortion.

The United Nations spends much of its time defending third-world dictators. Kate Gilmore, the UN’s deputy high commissioner for human rights, found torment taking place here in America. She said the abortion restrictions that were recently passed in several states in the U.S. are a “crisis” akin to “torture.”

“It’s clear it’s torture? It’s a deprivation of a right to health,” Gilmore told The Guardian. “We have not called it out in the same way we have other forms of extremist hate, but this is gender-based violence against women, no question.”

Despite all the cries from the left, abortion is getting worse in America. While a few red states are placing restrictions on the killing of the unborn, blue states are giving abortion clinics free rein. Democratic Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker just signed a bill into law establishing a woman’s “fundamental right” to abortion.

“Today we proudly proclaim that in this state, we trust women,” Pritzker said at the Reproductive Health Act signing event at the Chicago Cultural Center. “And in Illinois, we guarantee as a fundamental right a woman’s right to choose.”

This bill puts women at risk in three ways: (a) it removes regulations for abortion clinics, allowing them to be self-policing; (b) it allows people not trained as doctors to perform abortions, thus jeopardizing the life of a woman who suffers from complications; and (c) it eliminates all reporting requirements and regulations governing an investigation of maternal deaths due to abortion.

Earlier this year, New York state and Virginia passed a law that reduced the restrictions on late-term abortion. Up until now, such procedures are almost always performed because the life of the mother is in danger, or the baby is unviable. These new laws allow a pregnant woman to suddenly change her mind at the last minute and end the life of a child that could survive an early birth.

On the Democratic campaign trail, there is a bidding war over who will have the most pro-abortion platform. To keep up with the new reality, Joe Biden flip-flopped on his support for the Hyde Amendment; the 1976 measure prohibiting federal funding for abortion except in the case of rape, incest, and endangering the life of the mother. By this fall, we may have candidates sacrificing children to the Canaanite god Moloch.

I’m being sarcastic with my Moloch remark, but this level of depravity is not that far off. Radical feminist, Sophie Anne Lewis, wishes to take the abortion debate to an unthinkably evil place. In the promotional video for her new book, she freely admits that “abortion is a form of killing” and states that she is “not interested in where a human life starts to exist.”

“We have very little to lose at the moment when it comes to abortion, and I’m interested in winning radically,” Lewis argued. “I wonder if we could think about defending abortion as a right to stop doing gestational work. Abortion is, in my opinion, and I recognize how controversial this is, a form of killing. It is a form of killing that we need to be able to defend,” said Lewis.

I once found a video on YouTube that showed anchor chains breaking free from various ships. Most of them were incredibly violent because of all the massive forces at play. Humanity’s departure from God’s will has been equally cataclysmic. We now have people with the same moral values of Genghis Khan. Because we are so close to total corruption, the end must be very near.

“And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a corrupt mind so that they do what is not right” (Romans 1:28 CSB).

God’s Strange Name for Jerusalem

Jerusalem and Israel are the “apple of my eye” according to the Lord of Heaven.

It is the very center of the earth so far as  God’s dealings with mankind are concerned. All reference points given in the Bible most often radiate in different directions from the “holy city.” It is the city where Jesus Christ will reign and rule during the time of the millennial earth.

Jerusalem is the place where the Shekinah Glory–God, Himself, dwelt. His presence was there in the Holy of Holies, resident within the Ark of the Covenant. The fifteen-foot cubed area was so powerful in its prominence that the Temple priest who went into it had a rope tied around one leg so his body could be pulled from beneath the veil if he made a mistake in his duties. No man could go in there and live, save that divinely appointed priest. That priest had to be very careful not to touch the Ark and possibly other things in that chamber, lest he suffer instant death.

The veil itself separated God from mankind until Jesus Christ said “It is finished” at the moment He gave up His spirit to death. When Jesus died on the cross, that thick veil tore from top to bottom, indicating that the rent came from God in Heaven. From that moment, following Christ’s resurrection three days later, mankind could have direct access to God through Christ, who died for the sins of the world that had separated God from man before the death, burial, and resurrection of God’s Son as once-and-for-all sacrifice.

So why is Jerusalem, the center of man’s only hope for salvation from sin and death, mysteriously called terrible names by God Himself? The conjecture over this reference has been wide and varied, and perhaps unable to be known–that is, until the unfolding of prophetic stage-setting for the second coming of Christ.

The scriptural reference in question covers the deaths of the two witnesses who will preach during the Tribulation era. Antichrist will have finally managed to kill these two Heaven-sent men. At this point, they lay in the streets of Jerusalem, while the rebellious world of earth-dwellers mock and send each other gifts. “Good riddance,” the rebels will be saying.

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. (Revelation 11:8)

Egypt is the horrible regime that enslaved God’s chosen people–not a very nice name to give to this city God has previously called “the apple of my eye.”

But then, the name given is even worse. God’s Word calls it “Sodom.”

Many, including myself, have wondered over the years why this city so esteemed by God would be termed “Sodom” in the spiritual sense.

We know that many wicked things happened there over the eons of time. The wickedness seemed to rise to the level of ultimate evil when the beating and crucifixion of Israel’s Messiah took place.

Because the above naming of Jerusalem as “Egypt” and “Sodom” are given in the Revelation, I would like to propose that the meaning behind such horrid names might be now somewhat more understandable.

This present world of people is, as any student of God’s Word with discernment knows, becoming ever more wicked. Here are a few headlines from Rapture Ready News that attest to what is going on. (These were taken from only one day’s headlines on June 8.)

There are many more such headlines–and some much more egregious–that tell of the world moving toward Sodom-like comportment. But what about Jerusalem and our quandary? Why does God’s Word call His beloved city “Sodom” in His most profound book of prophecy yet future?

I think perhaps the answer might be framed, at least to some extent, in consideration of these excerpts from the following story.

Some 15,000 people turned out Thursday in the capital as part of the 18th annual Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade. The event got underway under increased security measures implemented by the police, with at least 2,600 police officers deployed to secure the march, nearly 100 more than last year…

Israel’s first openly gay minister Amir Ohana from Likud, who was assigned the justice portfolio by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, arrived at the Liberty Bell Park in Jerusalem – where the pride parade was to kick-off – was booed by the crowd assembled at the location, with some shouting ‘Shame, Shame’ and ‘What have you done for our community?’ at the new minister.

“It’s important that all of you are here, despite demonstrating against me,” Ohana said to the crowd before leaving the event shortly after…

Later in the evening an event was to take place at Jerusalem’s Independence Park, accompanied by performances from various musical artists and speeches from pro-LGBTQ activists. (“Jerusalem’s Gay Pride Parade Kicks Off Amid at Least 49 Arrests,” Ynetnews, June 6, 2019)

Like many American city officials these days, apparently the ones in Jerusalem want Sodom-like activity at the center of culture and society. Is it any wonder that the King of all Kings will have to cleanse that city from which He is prophetically scheduled to reign and rule for a thousand years?
