What’s Happening to the Children and Young Adults?
There’s much to pray about regarding happenings in the world this week, but the prayer focus here will be on what it says in the title. We Christians who know Bible prophecy knew the last days would be like the days of Noah and Lot. But take heart. God has not appointed us to the wrath that’s coming. Surely, we’ll soon hear that trumpet call. Keep that in mind as you read on…and pray.
In Maryland, 16-year-old Jaelynn Willey, who was shot by 17-year-old Austin Rollins at Great Mills High School, has died. A 14-year-old boy whom he shot survived. Willey and Rollins had recently ended a relationship. Rollins was fatally shot in a confrontation with an armed school resource officer. It’s not clear whether Rollins took his own life or was killed by the officer.
This next story got barely any news coverage, but it points to part of the problem in society.
In Florida, 16-year-old Dillen Murray lured Giovanni Diaz, 15, into the woods on the pretext of smoking marijuana, then hit Giovanni nine times in the head and face with a baseball bat until he was dead. Murray first claimed self-defense before admitting he killed Giovanni because he was jealous of Giovanni’s relationship with a girl he had a crush on. Murray’s Facebook page had troubling images, including a murderous clown and a photo of the Joker covered in blood, WFTV reports.
Police say Murray told someone several days before, “I wonder what it’s like to murder someone.” Murray also had photos of the shock-rock band Slipknot on his page, whose music and image has been linked to several criminal and violent incidents. For instance:
In 2003 two young killers claimed lyrics from the band’s song “Disasterpiece” drove them to murder, and last year words from their song “Surfacing” were found at the site of a grave robbing.
In 2008, a murder at a South African high school was linked to the band’s music. 18-year-old student, Morné Harmse, donned a “maggot mask” resembling a Slipknot’s band member’s mask, then he attacked four people with a samurai sword. A 16-year-old student was killed and a second student and two campus gardeners were seriously injured. Harmse said Satan told him to do it. He’d been listening to the band for months prior to the attack. Disturbing satanic items were found in his bedroom, including Ouija boards and “spell books.”
In Tennessee, Martin Milan, 19, Antun Hester, 18, and Rayford Smith, 19 are charged with aggravated rape and especially aggravated exploitation of a 17-year-old minor. What was the exploitation? The girl invited Milan to her house to have sex but declined when he asked if his brother could have sex with her also. Milan showed up with the two others, and when she said yes only to Milan, they all raped her and streamed the attack live on Facebook.
In Cleveland, Ohio a student was assaulted when she exited her school bus. Witnesses said multiple people in two different vehicles approached the girl and assaulted her, causing injuries to her head and face. The attackers fled the scene, leaving the victim in the street who was airlifted to the hospital. One suspect has been found so far and arrested.
29-year-old meth-addicted couple, Brittany Higgins and Brian Bennett, are charged with 3rd-degree murder in the drug death of Higgins’ 3-year-old toddler. She was found dead in her bed after being left unattended for 22 ½ hours. Interviews with family, friends and neighbors revealed neglect and physical abuse of the child for at least six months. Police also found evidence that Higgins and Bennett had communicated about physically abusing another child in the home.
We’ve all heard about Austin, Texas, but you may have only heard the liberal spin. Mark Conditt, 23, who planted six bombs that killed two people and injured five others in recent weeks was tracked down and is dead. When police approached, he set off a 7th bomb which killed him. An approved special search from Google, which has control over what information they’ll release, included a 25-minute confession Conditt recorded which hasn’t been released.
Claims are that he was homeschooled. Was he? How long? We know he went to college. The left wants children to be indoctrinated into their agenda; therefore, they hate homeschooling. The liberal “Daily Mail” headline read, “…DEVOUT CHRISTIAN blew himself up during police chase, ending 19-day campaign of terror.” Yet where is “Christian” in the article? Only that he posted six years ago that he was against abortion and same-sex marriage.
But conservatives and Christians don’t advocate terrorism. He supposedly also wanted sex offender registries to be discontinued, which a conservative or Christian would not normally support.
This article claims he targeted people of color. Yet it failed to mention that the fourth (tripwire) bomb was placed on a roadside in an affluent white neighborhood, injuring two white men. The article also claims that using the words “the outcry of a very challenged young man” is being sympathetic because he was white. Outcry means “an exclamation or shout;” a strong expression of disapproval or anger.” That’s sympathetic? But liberal media is quick to claim criminals and murderers that fit their agenda were “troubled or mentally ill.”
Could psychiatric drugs given to adolescents and teens or the effects from withdrawing from them be a contributing factor?
Many politicians focus on the gun issue regarding mass shootings, yet don’t speak of the clearly established link between mass homicides and psychiatric drugs. CCHR International, recently reported that at least 36 school shootings or other school-related violent attacks were committed by students either on psychiatric drugs or withdrawing from them, which can be just as dangerous. Side effects include mania, violence, psychosis and homicidal ideation (desire to commit murder).
An article from 2014 stated that worldwide 17 million children were on psychiatric drugs, and 10 million of them were in the US. The latest data available from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows the suicide rate for white children and teens (ages 10 to 17) was up 70% between 2006 and 2016. Although black children and teens kill themselves less often, those increased by 77%. A study of pediatric hospitals released last May found that admissions of patients (ages 5 to 17) for suicidal thoughts and actions more than doubled from 2008 to 2015.
How about Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts? What has happened to these organizations?
Girl Scouts USA (GSUSA) is the largest member organization of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), which these days aggressively promotes abortion and promiscuous sex. It is aligned with Planned Parenthood. Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver, said “I encourage people to say, ‘no, thank you’ to Girls Scouts and support alternatives that encourage Christian values such as American Heritage Girls. This organization has partnered with Trail Life USA, a rapidly expanding alternative to Boy Scouts”—which also follows a liberal left agenda, open to “transgender boys.”
Speaking of Scouts: in Utah, a local Boy Scout troop made accommodations for Blythe Logan (who has Down syndrome and Autism). For his service project for Eagle Scout, the teen decided to create kits for special needs babies and their families. However, his project was suspended by national scout leaders who claimed Logan hadn’t fulfilled his badge requirements because of accommodations made for his disabilities. When Blythe’s father filed a lawsuit, the national scout leaders reversed their decision.
We shouldn’t be surprised. Liberal activists want expectant mothers to be allowed to have abortions on demand if doctors suspect an unborn baby may have Down syndrome.

A South Carolina abortion clinic was caught on video illegally transporting bodies of aborted babies from a car to a waste management company.
From Breitbart: For the third time in six months, an Obama-appointed federal judge has struck down a state law restricting abortions, this time in Mississippi. Less than 24 hours after its enactment, U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves blocked the law banning abortion after 15 weeks’ gestation, after an abortion clinic sued the state, contending that the law is unconstitutional because it bans abortion before a “fetus” can survive outside the womb. It’s so much easier to call them just “fetuses.”
In California, a Rocklin High School History teacher opened a class debate on the politics of the national school walkout protest. She cited this example: if “a group of students nationwide, or even locally, decided ‘I want to walk out of school for 17 minutes…and protest abortion,’ would that be allowed by our administration?” The school punished her with administrative leave. Since this occurred, a Rocklin High School student began organizing a pro-life walkout on social media using the hashtag #life “to honor all the millions of aborted babies every year.” Will this receive much media coverage?
Seven nations permit elective abortion on demand after the 20th week of gestation, including the US.
And what about the churches? Let’s see what’s in the news this week:
66 church leaders signed a letter to the Des Moines Register blasting Iowa lawmakers who are trying to pass a bill prohibiting abortions from the moment an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable, about six weeks of pregnancy (FYI: those heartbeats have been detected at 16 days gestation, before a woman knows she’s pregnant).
These so-called “leaders” came from United Methodist, Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, Episcopal, Presbyterian Church USA, United Church of Christ, American Baptist, Reformed Judaism, Unitarian Universalism, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and also ULC Humanist.
Disney partnered with Christian Resources to create a Youth Bible study for churches based on the film “A Wrinkle in Time,” yet Disney intentionally erased Christian themes and scripture from the film.
In Michigan, police raided two Catholic Diocese of Saginaw properties and Bishop Joseph Cistone’s home. The raids were carried out as part of an investigation into a torrent of sexual abuse allegations which the church has a history of covering up, and had been refusing to cooperate.
The head of the Church of England, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, said at a public hearing that he’s ashamed of cover-ups of child sex abuse in the Anglican church.
The Mormon church is investigating a second accusation of sexual assault against former missionary leader, Joseph L. Bishop, dating back to the 1980s. At that time he was president of the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, an important position of authority over hundreds of young Mormons.
And how do we expect children to grow up valuing life when they’re taught there’s no God and we come from animals? Check out this news story from this week:
University of Washington psychology professor, David Barash, proposes that society should sanction the making of human-chimp hybrids. He wants to prove we evolved randomly and are foolish to believe we’re special “creatures.” Yet God’s Word tells us we’re made in His image, Jesus is God in the flesh, and humans were given dominion over every living thing on Earth (Gen 1:26; John 1:1-5, 14). Barash gives new students “the talk” to basically convince them they’re stupid to believe in God.
Let’s see who’s being called inspiring leaders—role models for children—in the news this week:
A children’s book from India publishers titled Leaders and featured on the Pegasusforkids website, includes Hitler as an inspiring leader. The product description reads, “In the time that feels devoid of great leadership, we have found men and women who will inspire you…all of them energize their followers and try to make the world better.”
Another “inspiring leader” in the book is Obama, who hates white people and Jews, promotes the violent ideology of Islam, and has and still is doing everything he can to tear down the US. He was photographed at a conference in 2006, all smiles with Nation of Islam’s leader, Farrakhan, who is vehemently against whites and Jews. (Speaking of that, now we hear not seven but nine Democrat lawmakers in the US also support Farrakhan and CAIR—a front for the Muslim Brotherhood with ties to “extremism.”)
Is Nelson Mandela the inspiring leader he’s claimed to be in the children’s book? Read this for yourself and decide. And watch the video at the link and hear what he’s singing about. What was he really imprisoned for? Also, here’s an article by one who knows: read this by Dr. Peter Hammond, an evangelist missionary based in South Africa. He’s been tortured in the prisons of despotic communist dictators and is not intimidated in the slightest by “political correctness.”
How about the Left’s Genderless Agenda, LGBTQ+ and 51 and counting genders?
We’ve read the news stories where children are expected to “choose” what gender they want to go by before they enter kindergarten. A first grader calls a classmate by the name she knew him as last year rather than his newly decided transgender name, and she gets sent to the principal’s office. Then there are drag queen story times and shows in schools, public libraries, and even a satanic-looking drag queen on a TV program—all of these for young children.
Sweden’s gender-neutral preschools began in 1996. The man who started it, Ingemar Gens, was not an educator but a journalist dabbling in anthropology and gender theory. He wanted to break down the gendered society, and preschool struck him as the place to begin. Swedish children spend much of their early life in government-funded preschools for up to 12 hours a day starting at age one.
Here’s a comment from Gens: “What if you could get to be born, be, developing the properties that are successful without being accused of being feminine or masculine, it would be a congenial society. The opposite sex should die out.” Two schools at that time began this gender strategy. For example: Boys and girls were separated at preschools for part of the day and coached in traits of the opposite gender. Boys massaged each other’s feet while girls were told to open the window and scream.
In California, its citizens can be imprisoned for a year if they’re deemed a repeat offender for failing to use someone’s correct transgender pronoun. And what about all those school children who have to walk around piles of feces and urine and drug needles in the sanctuary state. And let us not forget Obama’s bathroom, shower and locker room policies at schools…and others that followed suit. Would you be confused as a child?
In Oregon, another known liberal state, after years of trying to unseat Christian judge, Vance Day (also a Republican), causing him to rack up astoundingly massive legal fees, he was suspended for three years without pay for refusing to marry same-sex couples—the longest suspension in history. Judge Day says he harbors no ill will toward homosexuals and lesbians and has befriended them. But his religious faith prohibits his performing a marriage ceremony for same-sex couples. The court also convicted him unfairly of unlawful gun charges, etc. See here.
In his continuing fight against the left, Pres. Trump has managed to at least issue an order to ban most transgenders from the military. Those requiring substantial medical treatment, including medications and surgery, are disqualified except under limited circumstances. Transgenders have used the military for sex reassignment surgeries and expensive medication when these funds should be used to protect our nation from its enemies.

Scotland police created “hate crime files” on over 900 children between ages of 11 and 15 in one year. They define hate crime as “any crime which is perceived by the victim or any other person as being motivated by malice or ill will towards a social group. Of course we’re against bullying. But “hate crime files” on…900 children…in one year?
Something else that is drilled into children’s minds from an early age now is the fear that global warming is going to wipe us out. It’s a hoax by the globalist elite who want everything under their control. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) fudged their numbers to pretend the world is warming. Samsung launched a website that promises to wipe a favorite TV series from one’s memory so they can watch it again seemingly for the first time. The creepy concept, Unspoil me, is available through the company’s Swedish website. And what else might they subliminally implant in minds?
This article could go on and on. Folks, no wonder we’re seeing such problems with children and young adults today. This world has moved beyond the Outer Limits of the Twilight Zone into genuine madness.
