Here, we see a bit of green that resulted from the concentration of waterin this deep gorge. The slow erosion of the Dead Sea valley creates some very beautiful scenery. Here is the general location of Sodom. Someday San Francisco might look like this lifeless salt plain. The Hod Hotel where we stayed for one night. The view looking west of the Hod Hotel. This is the general area where the Dead Sea Scrolls where found. The Dead Sea Scroll cave itself. That isn't a giant wave; that's salt. There is a little boat out there piling up salt. Swimming in the Dead Sea was quite an experience. It feels like swimming in a light oil.
