Tommy Ice

Tommy Ice earned his Th.M in Historical Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. His Ph.D in systematic Theology (specializing in eschatology) is from Tyndale Theological Seminary He pastored the Trinity Bible Church in Fredricksburg.

Thomas Ice is the executive director of The Pre-Trib Research Center in Arlington, Texas, which he founded in 1994 with Dr. Tim LaHaye to research, teach, and defend the pretribulational rapture and related Bible prophecy doctrines.

Dr. Ice has co-authored over 20 books, written dozens of articles, spoken at some of the largest churches in the United States, and is a frequent conference speaker. He lives with his wife Janice and their three boys in Arlington, Texas.

I have a section on Rapture Ready that features several of Tommy’s articles. Next to his page link I have the subtitle “The pre-trib heavy artillery.” When it comes to defending the Pre-trib rapture, Tommy is one of the best in the field of Bible Prophecy.

Standing up for the pre-trib view can be a demanding task. Hardly a day goes by where I don’t receive some nasty email about my support for the pre-trib rapture. With Tommy being a higher profile defender in the pre-trib camp, I’m sure he gets a lot more negative mail. If you were to sample all the sites that attack pretribulationism, Tommy Ice is a name you’d find frequently mentioned. I’ve noticed the flaming arrows even show up on sites that sell the books he’s written or co-authored. Here’s a typical negative review posted on Amazon.com:

“If you want to learn the truth about the rapture, do not look here. If you want your ears tickled with made up fairy tales which can only be dated back to 1830 and which arose as part of a Jesuit devised system of eschatology look no further! To those already convinced of the “reality” of the pre-trib rapture theory, this book will do nothing but continue to feed your deceptions. To those interested in the truth this book serves as a great guide and reference point to learn all of the ridiculous arguments in favor of pre-tribulationism (I suppose this warrants the one star rating instead of zero stars which amazon will not allow me to use).”
