FAQ :: What good is prayer?

Prayer is the method of communication that the Lord has given to us so that we may communicate with Him at all times. What a privilege! We talk to our parents, our bosses, our friends and many others. How much more important and valuable it is to talk to our Heavenly Father, who hears and answers! “He shall call upon me and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him” (Psalm 91:15); “And it shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear” (Isaiah 65:24); “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). In God’s Word, we clearly see that He eagerly waits for our prayers and anticipates answering.

If you have not yet received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and begun a relationship with Him, you, too, can have that intimate relationship with the Lord that allows you to pray to Him at any time about anything. All you need to do is pray a simple prayer, admitting that you are a sinner and need God’s forgiveness. Ask Jesus to cleanse you heart and come into your life. First John 1:9 promises that, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
