The Porpoise Driven Life :: by TerryJames

Unless you just stepped off of your flying saucer from another solar system, you know about the Purpose-Driven Life. That book is said to be the second-highest-selling, non-fiction book in publishing history, right behind the Bible. The thrust of this monumentally selling book is to convince people that they were placed here for a purpose by the God who created them, and to point to the fact that God’s Word, the Bible, is the real road map to peace, peace to the soul.

Because there is so much humanistic psychology woven throughout the book, however, many who name the name of Christ consider The Purpose-Driven Life to be flawed to the point it is counter-productive to the cause of Christ.

While many proclaim that any book that has sold so many copies is obviously blessed of God, others point to Harry Potter and proclaim that that series has sold even more, and that the psychology found within both works come from the same source.

I will make no such conclusion here, but am extremely disturbed at author Rick Warren’s cavalier attitude toward biblical prophecy. His statement that says Jesus always changed the subject when talking to His disciples whenever the topic of prophecy yet future came up is –I don’t know how else to say it—a lie. To refute his claim in this regard, I point you first to his statement on pages 285-286 of The Purpose-Driven Life. Then I point you to the Olivet Discourse in Matthew, chapter 24, Mark, chapter 13, and Luke, chapter 21. Read those suggested texts, then tell me if Mr. Warren is being honest with his readers.

The other matter involves the aforementioned problem of psychology. I have no problem with leveling the charge that to inject psychology from Freud, Jung, Maslow, Rogers, or any of the other humanists, and to mix their mumbo-jumbo with the Holy Word of God in order to advise one to direct one’s life is erroneous teaching at best, and dangerous instruction at worst.

Let me explain.

Every society, culture, or civilization that has rejected God’s purpose for mankind has eventually come to, relatively speaking, the same end. Always, the degeneration that has resulted from God-rejection has ended in a certain manifestation.

I liken such teaching from worldly sources, not to instruction that leads to a godly, purpose-driven life, but to teaching that could be better termed “porpoise driven.”

Here is a relevant passage to consider:

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things” (Rom. 1:21-23).

All who have populated the planet have, it seems, ultimately come to the point they viewed the creation as God, and worshipped that creation in one way or another. From the ancient days when people worshipped Dagan, the fish god, to the Greeks, who paid homage to their great gods which they viewed as controlling the various elements of earth’s geophysical activities, to the believers in reincarnation, and the native American nature worshippers, to those who today believe “Mother Earth” is the sustainer of us all, mankind’s history is a continuing downward-spiraling plunge that is more “porpoise” driven than “purpose” driven.

A command, followed by a question from the mind of God is one that should be considered here: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” (2 Cor. 6:14).

Another way of putting it in our context: We as children of God have no business intertwining our instructions from our Heavenly Father with the instructions of those whom think that porpoises are God, because those creatures are part of the creation by evolution –humanism’s god.

We can look to the type of worship the children of Israel engaged in, even during the time Moses was on the mountain receiving the Law that would govern that chosen people. Remember? They forged an image that was in the shape of what? That’s right, a calf. They molded a golden calf to worship. Even the people upon whom God chose to put His mighty Hand, as an example to all peoples that would follow, came to the desire to worship the creature, rather than the creator. In modern terms, they became “porpoise driven”!

“Porpoise-driven” people have reprobate mindset; i.e., their thinking becomes perverted, or upside- down. Rather than striving to follow the prescription for life set down by the Creator-God of all things, they deliberately pull away from His loving hand of guidance, preferring to do what is right in their own eyes.

The arguments I hear through e-mail, and by listening to their sophistry, always involve convoluted reasoning (I realize that is an oxymoron). Their thought always includes some degree of anger and fear that we who hold to the belief that God’s judgment is coming are responsible for bringing the planet to ruin. Christian evangelicals –and pre-trib believers in the rapture in particular—are the heart and soul of such ruination, they proclaim. And, if I’ve read it or heard it once, I’ve read it or heard it dozens of times –they will be glad for the rapture so we will be off the planet. Then those left behind can build a world free of such encumbrances as those engendered by we who are in favor of destroying wildlife and Earth’s ecosystem.

When we who hold to the Bible’s words condemn things like killing babies while they are in their mothers’ wombs, the “porpoise-driven” rant that it is nobody’s business what women do with their bodies. We should cease trying to impose our view of morality on those who want to kill babies, if and when they want to kill babies. Babies that are unwanted will have nothing but destitution and abuse to face, so goes the “reasoning.”

That mindset that says killing human children in the womb is preferable to the inconvenience that birth would foist upon the mothers and children involved –not to mention society at large—twists logic and morality to the breaking point. Yet the “porpoise driven” are always first to defend the offspring of wildlife such as –well, for example— porpoises.

How many times have we heard that when porpoises or whales have beached themselves for one reason or another, those who have this mindset have gone to wherever the unfortunate mammals were committing porpoicide –if that’s a word—and tried everything –including “reasoning” with these super-intelligent animals, to convince them to choose life, rather than death?

Humanist psychology, you see, like most all of humanity’s philosophies, are in diametric opposition to the mind of God. The humanistic religion, with its chief dogma, evolution, makes the evolved animal at least as important as the evolved human. People–e.g., evangelical Christians who believe in God’s coming judgment on incorrigibly wicked mankind—refuse to come into harmony with all of nature, thus are nature’s individual and collective enemy, under the evolutional, psychological, and philosophical model. We aren’t “porpoise driven;” thus it would be better if we were silenced –or better yet, off the planet. At least, that’s the message I’ve been getting, especially since the U.S. presidential election of 2004.

The “porpoise-driven” mindset says that human death–if that life makes things inconvenient—is better off removed. Terri Shiavo was an inconvenience, thus she was best left to starve to death. Try that with a baby seal, dolphin, porpoise, or sea turtle, and the outcry from the “porpoise-driven” crowd would be cacophonous.

We, as a caring, loving part of Mother Earth, must nurture and carefully count every eagle egg. We shouldn’t bother to keep count of the more than 44 million human babies that have been murdered through abortion since Roe v. Wade in 1973, however. It’s best to just move on from such accounting.

But, God hasn’t forgotten, and won’t forget. His accounting system is perfect, and each and every one of those babies will, I’m confident, stand and face the “porpoise-driven” crowd at precisely the right moment when the books of eternity are opened and God’s judgment rendered.

It is especially troubling that many who say they are Christians–thus surely have copies of The Purpose Driven Life nearby, write accusing us of being in favor of destroying the planet. Almost without exception they, at the same time, say something like “the Jesus I know would never send anyone to a place of eternal punishment. My Jesus taught love and respect for the environment, and love for the poor and downtrodden.” It is we who believe in judgment, and who are voting for George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and thus for Halliburton and drilling at ANWR, who are going to occupy the hot places of Hell –if such a place exists.

The “porpoise-driven” mindset is really a spirit-set, I’m convinced. It is a non-rational rationale that comes from confusion that produces totally upside-down thinking. And, the Bible speaks plainly as to who is the author of confusion. The “porpoise-driven way” is almost without exception bent toward pro-death, not life.

“Porpoise-driven” exponents almost always champion abortion and homosexual activity–both things that lead to the eradication of human birth. Increasingly, the “porpoise-driven” observably demonstrate that they are for euthanasia – the offing of those whose quality of life isn’t deemed worthy of continuance. It is preferable to hug a tree than to take to one’s breast a helpless woman who can’t feed herself in today’s economy of the religion of secular humanism.

As true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, it is our duty to do our part to take care of our environment, including the animal life. But, we aren’t to worship the Creation. We are to worship the Creator only. His name is Jesus Christ. To worship Him in spirit and in truth–that is our God-appointed purpose.

The End-Times Invasion :: by Terry James

These are strange times. The times are, I believe Bible prophecy tells us, scheduled to get even stranger. Yet, there resides within the portentous days in which we find ourselves excitement born of anticipation.

Jesus foretold such a time just before He again intervenes into the affairs of mankind by returning to destruction-bound Planet Earth. He said: “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man” (Lk. 17:26).

Jesus prophesied that the generation alive at the time of His Second Advent will be living in circumstances like the generation that experienced the flood of Noah’s time. The Lord went on to say that things would–on the surface of life—seem normal for the times. “They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage…” (Lk. 17:27a). But, those days –just beneath the surface of business-as-usual–hid a tsunami of cataclysmic proportions. Jesus indicated that the wickedness swelled subtly within that generation, and that the antediluvian world rocked along, “…until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all” (Lk. 17:27b).

I propose that Jesus was speaking to specific causes that set in motion that flood of Noah’s day, and deluged that generation beneath the global tsunami, when He predicted: “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.” The Lord was forewarning, I’m convinced, that 1) violence like the violence that filled the whole earth will mark the generation alive just before He comes back at Armageddon; and 2) there will be an invasion of Planet Earth on a scale like that which assaulted the antediluvians. These particular characteristics will mark the end-time generation as being like it was in the days of Noah.

Scriptures attest to these ungodly characteristics of the days just before the global flood. This, despite the fact that some “theologians” go to great lengths to deny the veracity of God’s Word in reporting those times.

Actually, those two pre-flood characteristics were inextricably linked, the second being the chief cause of the first. God’s Word reports the great invasion:

“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose… There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown” (Gen. 1-2,

4).

God’s telling of the truth of this invasion from other worlds next gives the effects and the actions necessary–caused by the fallen angels that rebelled with Lucifer, who then produced offspring with human women.

“And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them” (Gen. 6:6-7).

The terrible effects in particular that apparently filled God’s cup of wrath and made Him say, Enough is enough,” are seen in the following: “The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth” (Gen. 6:11-13).

God cannot lie. Jesus is God, the Creator of all things. He prophesied that it will again be like it was in the days of Noah, when the time of His return to take over the planet from earth’s rebels nears. We have only to look around–view today’s headlines—to know that we are in a time that is marked by violence. As a matter of fact, we are engaged in a “War on Terror”! The very nomenclature given the conflict shows the nature of Planet Earth’s present generation of humankind.

The Apostle Paul tells more specifically about the nature of this end-times invasion–an invasion identical to that inflicted upon the final people of antediluvian times. We are so familiar with the Scriptures that we see this alert by the great apostle as a sort of ho-hum part of Scripture. It is not so. It points to where we are today, in the middle of an all-out assault by creatures from another dimension. Paul writes: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Eph. 6:12).

Many of you know that my first novel, The Rapture Dialogues: Dark Dimension, dealt with this eerie but most relevant topic. Although presented in a fictional setting, I believe the Lord intends to use the story to warn where we are on His prophetic timeline, and forewarn of the all-out return of the other-worldly beings far more deadly than could be any so-called extraterrestrial beings from other planets.

The tremendous fascination by media and the secular world in the sightings, apparitions, encounters, abductions, etc., are obvious by the number of hours devoted to these things on nightly TV fare. But, the real story can’t be found there. The real story is reported from the pages of God’s Word.

Now, if I may interject a bit of a commercial for my latest book. My new novel is a sequel to The Rapture Dialogues. The second novel is The Nephilim Imperatives: Dark Sentences.”

The world changed drastically in the 20th century. The most powerful time of change came in mid-century, with World War II and the Jewish Holocaust, accompanied by the explosion of the first atomic bomb, and that horrific weapon’s first use onHiroshima, then Nagasaki, Japan. There swiftly followed the discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls at Qumran, and the birth of modern Israel, coinciding with the formation of the United Nations.

Technology, the development of which had moved at a snail’s pace throughout history until the late 19th century, seemed to ignite in rocket-like fashion. Inventions burst forth from the time of the steam engine to the telegraph, electric power, then to powered flight…and, well, you know the rest.

President John F. Kennedy, in his January 20, 1961 inaugural address, summarized the position that generation held on history’s timeline: “…man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty, and all forms of human life…”

The very year the president was assassinated,America’s leaders chose to gravitate toward the latter option verbalized by Kennedy two years earlier—to begin to “abolish human life”. That year –1963—the Supreme Court elected, without invitingAmerica’s electorate to participate in the decision, to kick God out of public schools. This downward spiral of moving away from the Life-Giver –God—and toward death, eventuated ten years later with Roe v. Wade and the murder of almost 50 million babies in their mothers’ wombs since.

Something profound had happened to this human sphere. When one dissects the strange dichotomy –the fantastic progress in man’s knowledge and technological achievement, and at the same time the geometric progression of violence and degeneration of morality in this nation and the world—a truly empirical conclusion must acknowledge that something eerie is going on. Planet Earth is experiencing dynamic rearrangement that even the most fervent apostle of the faith system called evolution must be hard-pressed to explain.

God’s Word, the Bible, through Jesus and the Old and New Testament prophets, however, are not hard-pressed to explain. This world is becoming as it was in the days of Noah and Lot (read Luke 17:26-29). Planet Earth is experiencing an invasion–not from Mars, the Pleiades, or some other far-distant star system, but from right here, where earth’s trouble has stemmed since the leader of the invasion first entered man’s sphere of existence. The invasion is interdimensional, not extraterrestrial.

Lucifer, in his first assault on God’s creation called man, first deceived Eve, then convinced Adam to disobey God, with whom Adam and his wife had walked perfectly. From that point, Satan attacked humanity with a vengeance, his minions even intermingling their seed with humankind.

The chief Scripture that both tells of the serpent’s (Satan’s) war against humankind and the fact that God promised that woman’s (Eve’s) seed would ultimately crush the Devil’s head, is found here: “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel” (Gen. 3:15).

What I want to look at in this Scripture is the fact that the invaders (Lucifer’s minions, the one-third of the angels who rebelled in heaven and were expelled) possess “seed”. They would go on to intermingle their “seed,” with the “seed” of the woman, Scripture tells us:

“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown” (Gen. 6:4).

We again are given the abominable mingling of the fallen angels’ seed with the seed of human women:

“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgmentof the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire” (Jude 1:6-7).

Just as the Sodomites–the homosexuals of the doomed city of Sodom– committed fornication with “strange flesh” (with those of the same sex), the fallen angels, Jude is saying, went after “strange flesh” (those of a different creation –human women).

Jesus said it would be the same as in that antediluvian time when He returns in the second coming. The minions of Satan will again be in process of contaminating or corrupting human genetics.

God had to judge that world, killing all except Noah and his seven family members, and animals selected from earth’s animal populations.

The latter-day invasion is manifested–I’m convinced—through the strange, unexplained UFOs, apparitions, stigmata, and other things reported by even quite credible people. Just watch Discovery, History, A & E, and National Geographic cable channels to understand just how much of these things are going on today.

Additionally, we’ve all heard about the recent group of former military people, pilots, scientists and government officials–now retired–who have come forward to try to get out the message that, indeed, these things are being witnessed. Mainstream news media and government by-and-large are still stonewalling efforts to get to the truth about these anomalous matters.

The main point to make is that this invasion is but one more signal of where we stand on God’s prophetic timeline.

Are there “nephilim”–giants, as in the days of the Genesis 6 report–again coming into view? Is there presently luciferian intervention into the very genetic make-up of humankind? I’m of the opinion that the answer is “yes,” at least in that the rulers of the darkness of this world (Ephesians 6:12) are influencing human scientists and others through cloning and other covert projects.

I will speculate a bit here by way of a question or two.

Why is the “son of perdition” declared by Jesus himself to be lost from the beginning (Jn. 17:12)? Isn’t everyone to have a chance to repent and be saved—to be given their day in court–whether at the bema (judgment seat of Christ) or at the great white throne?

Yet this man of sin–the son of perdition, the Antichrist “beast” and his sidekick, the false prophet, are apparently not given their day in court. Both are simply thrown into the lake of fire. They are the first two to be thrown in that eternally burning place of punishment. There will be none other in that place prepared for the devil and his angels until Satan is thrown in that fiery lake at the end of the 1,000-year reign of Christ. Then, they will be joined by the billions upon billions of lost souls who are cast in the lake of fire following the great white throne judgment of Revelation 20:11-15.

Here is my speculation, but one based upon a good scriptural foundation, I think.

The beasts described in Revelation chapter 13 –both the world leader, who will demand worship, and the false prophet, who will force people to worship him—might well be without souls, in the sense that human beings have souls. Human souls can be redeemed. Angels cannot be redeemed, once lost –as in the angels who rebelled with Lucifer.

It is prudent to ask if the Antichrist and the false prophet are the offspring of the angels–are nephilim, the result of the intermingling of the serpent seed with the seed of human women. Certainly, they will perform great feats as Genesis Chapter 6 reports of the angelic/human offspring of the pre-Flood times.

Are Antichrist and the false prophet to be nephilim?

Again the commercial, if you will indulge me. That’s what my new novel, The Nephilim Imperatives, is about, in general –that, mixed with a human love story and with the love story of all time –God’s love for His creature called man.

I believe you will find the story fascinating, as Mr. Spock of Star Trek would say. Although fiction, the story is wrapped in truth from God’s Word—and in Bible prophecy, in particular. Continuing the Second Coming chronicle series, “The Nephilim Imperatives,” like the first novel “The Rapture Dialogues, ”wraps the Apostle Paul’s warnings about spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6: 12) with in the cocoon woven by the Genesis 6: 1-4 story and Jesus’s prophecy of Luke 17: 26-27 that it will again be as it was in the days of Noah. It will be the end times Invasion from the dark dimension inhabited by Satan and his demonic minions. I believe that invasion has already begun!
