Now, Clifford the Big Red Dog contains a child character named Samantha with two mommies, Dr. and Ms. Mulberry. PBS recently announced Sesame Street would feature a drag queen activist wearing a gender-bender tuxedo gown in one of its episodes. Sesame Street posted: “Billy Porter bringing those fierce vibes to Sesame Street.” The post included a fire emoji, used to signify something is cool, awesome, exciting, or “on fire.” It can also convey that someone is sexy or hot. PBS KIDS, largely supported by federal funds, is anything but family friendly. Please help get the word out about this use of taxpayers’ dollars to indoctrinate children to the LGBTQ lifestyle.

Also, just for the record, Italy has the largest number of coronavirus cases outside of China and South Korea (see figures under pestilence/plague section). The first two cases of coronavirus in Italy began in two Chinese nationals who were on holiday in Rome, but they’ve since recovered.

But as we’ve witnessed within Christianity with contemplative prayer (“Christianized” eastern-meditation practice), [this] meditation alters the way one thinks about God, sin, salvation, and just about everything in life itself—and, biblically speaking, not for the good. The American Legion magazine’s motto is “For God and Country Since 1919,” but we do not believe the God of the Bible would agree with its efforts to turn veterans into eastern-religion meditators.”
Lent and Contemplative Spirituality. Since the contemplative prayer movement has come into full swing, more churches observe Lent. In fact, Lent is often used as the door to bring contemplative prayer into a church, largely done through multitudes of books from religious publishers who’ve become conduits for contemplative spirituality (belief system that uses ancient mystical practices to induce altered states of consciousness (the silence) and is rooted in mysticism and the occult but often wrapped in Christian terminology. The premise of contemplative spirituality is pantheistic (God is all) and panentheistic (God is in all). Catholic mystic Richard Rohr was told by his publisher that his largest reading audience was young evangelical men (tomorrow’s pastors). The ritualistic and liturgical nature of Lent observance has become a “perfect” fit for contemplative spirituality; in many cases (maybe most today), where you find Lent observed, you’ll find contemplative spirituality.

California reservoir ordered to be drained over fears earthquake could collapse dam. As California experiences a potentially record-breaking dry February, federal regulators have ordered that a large reservoir south of San Jose be drained due to fears a dam could collapse in an earthquake, sending a torrent of water into Silicon Valley.
Peru: Non-stop rain, violent mudflows and raging flash floods hit southern Peru, bringing the death toll to nine as of Monday, February 24, with some missing. Red warnings for heavy rains, thunderstorms, and strong winds were issued for central regions in the country’s south as the severe weather was expected to persist from February 25. Update: A massive glacier collapse took place near Machu Picchu on February 24, resulting in a catastrophic debris flow that claimed the lives of at least four people and left 13 missing. The total figures are uncertain given the magnitude of the flow.
Columbia: 8 dead and 14 missing following severe flash floods and landslides as of Wednesday. An orange alert was issued for mudslides in the affected areas as moderate rain was expected to continue until Friday, February 28.
UK: Widespread flooding persists in Ireland and UK; another strong storm to hit western Europe this weekend. Widespread flooding due to prolonged heavy rain continues to impact parts of the UK and Ireland, leading to evacuations and prompting the Met Office to issue warnings and alerts on Friday, Feb. 28. The conditions are expected to worsen as another storm is set to arrive on Saturday, Feb. 29, bringing strong winds and heavy rain to western Europe over the weekend.
Indonesia: Major floods hit Indonesian capital Jakarta. Torrential rain on Tuesday paralyzed wide areas of the city as rescue teams used boats to evacuate people. This was the second time severe flooding hit the capital, following the devastating heavy downpour in January which killed 66 people and displaced about 175,000. Emergency declared in Indonesia’s West Java as widespread floods and landslides displace 10,000.
Canary Islands: A massive sandstorm hit last weekend into Monday with winds up to 120 km/h (75 mph), causing severe disruptions and exacerbating wildfires which forced about 2,000 residents to evacuate. The regional president called it the worst storm to hit the islands in 40 years. Heavy impact on all crops grown in the open ground. The damages are expected to be long-term as not only the current harvest was lost, but the next ones are also at risk.
Australia: Tropical Cyclone “Esther” hit northern Australia; another storm intensifies off western coast. Tropical Cyclone “Esther” made landfall near the border of the Northern Territory and Queensland as a Category 1 system on Monday with sustained winds near the core of 60 km/h (37 mph) and gusts to 95 km/h (59 mph). The storm then weakened into a tropical low while another tropical cyclone strengthened off the coast of Western Australia.
Australia: Severe thunderstorm and worst hailstorm since 2010 wreak havoc across Perth. A ferocious thunderstorm with damaging winds up to 126 km/h (78 mph) and hailstones the size of tennis balls lashed Perth on Tuesday, wreaking havoc across the city and causing chaos during peak-hour traffic.
Heavy rains hit Egypt, causing severe flooding and major traffic disruptions on Monday. Authorities suspended classes in schools nationwide.

Muslim Call to Prayer Comes to Paterson, New Jersey. If you live in Paterson, New Jersey, and like to sleep past 6 a.m., take a nap during the day, and go to bed before 10 p.m., you might want to invest in some earplugs… for your children too. Paterson’s Muslim councilman Shahin Khalique introduced a measure that the Islamic call to prayer be exempted from the noise ordinance, which was approved. A sound of up to 80 decibels is allowed. That’s like the sound of an “alarm clock.” How appropriate.
Barring legal appeal, the Islamic call to prayer will soon be broadcast all over the city three times a day, allowed for up to five minutes: “Allah is greater; there is no God but Allah, and Mohammed is his prophet” in Arabic over mosque loudspeakers (12 in the city). (There are five daily prayers, but two of them fall outside the 6AM-10PM parameters of the ordinance.) This followed the swearing-in earlier this month, on the Qur’an, of course, of Paterson’s new police chief, Ibrahim “Mike” Baycora, the first Muslim police chief in an American city.
Paterson’s Muslim population is estimated to be 25,000 to 30,000, the second-largest Muslim population in the US by percentage. The total population is around 146,000. That would make the Muslims around 20% of the population.
India: At Least 10 [update: now 27] Killed as Muslims Riot over Protections for Victims of Religious Persecution. Dozens have also been injured following riots over a law to protect victims of religious persecution fleeing Muslim countries. As Islam is the majority religion in those countries – and Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, and others are fleeing religious persecution by Muslims – India’s lawmakers excluded Islam from the list of accepted religions for the fast-track to citizenship. Muslims are demanding they be included, despite not facing persecution from other Muslims for their faith in their native countries.
Greece Forced To Defend Its Borders. Greece deployed tear gas Saturday to prevent surges of refugees/migrants from entering via Turkey. Turkey’s President Erdogan says his country has opened its borders, allowing 18,000 refugees/migrants to flood into Europe. He also claims that number will rise to as many as 30,000 by Sunday.
Germany permits Iran’s regime to build European network. In a bombshell exposé in the German magazine Focus titled The long arm of the mullahs: Iran’s European network is controlled from Hamburg,” said historian and Islam expert Christian Osthold. Chinese Navy destroyer shoots laser at US Navy plane. A dangerous encounter occurred on Feb. 17 when a Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy destroyer targeted a U.S. Navy maritime patrol aircraft with a high-powered laser. The incident occurred over international waters around 380 miles west of Guam. U.S. military aircraft have previously sustained Chinese laser attacks. China has continued to expand its naval presence in the Pacific and the South China Sea in particular in recent years, laying claim to many disputed territories in the Pacific.
In Israel: Incoming rocket sirens continued to wail after ‘Palestinian’ Islamic Jihad (PIJ) announced it would stop firing rockets toward Israel on Monday evening. Over 100 rockets were fired by PIJ on Monday from the Gaza Strip toward southern Israel in a second day of violence with the Iranian-backed terrorist group. Two members of the terror group were killed in the Damascus airstrikes along with four other pro-Iranian fighters.
The escalation began Sunday when the Israeli army spotted two men trying to lay an explosive device at the fence that separates Gaza from Israel. The army killed one of them, Muhammed, who was part of the Quds Brigade, armed wing of Islamic Jihad. A bulldozer was used by Israel to remove the body to the Israeli side. Defense minister Naftali Bennett said he is tired of the left’s vicious criticism of the “inhumanity” used by the bulldozer to bring us the body of a terrorist who tried to murder(!) Israelis.” Referring to the remains of two Israeli soldiers who were killed in the 2014 Gaza war and whose remains are held in Gaza, he said: “Bleeding hearts, *You* are not human! Hamas holds the bodies of Hadar and Oron.”
Netanyahu to terrorists: End rocket attacks or face all-out offensive. “We attacked in the Gaza Strip, and also in Syria, and I am not going to let up the pressure,” he said. He said he will resort to a full-fledged assault if the ‘Palestinians’ continue to terrorize Israeli communities with rocket attacks.
Israel’s Defense Minister said there’s a 95% chance of Israel having to launch a large Gaza military offensive in the future.
Israeli drone strike killed a senior Hezbollah operative in Syria. Imad at-Tawil was in charge of creating an Iranian-backed terrorist network on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, presumably in order to make that area a theater of operations against Israel.
Syria war: Alarm after 33 Turkish soldiers killed in attack in Idlib. They died in a Syrian government attack in opposition-held north-western Syria, in a major escalation of the conflict. Turkey, which backs the opposition, “claims” it hit 200 government targets in response, “neutralizing” 309 soldiers. Russia, Syria’s key military ally, says Turkish troops were attacked in Idlib province by Syrian forces while operating alongside jihadist fighters. Nevertheless, Turkey will join Russia and Iran in a prophesied invasion of Italy, because as much as they hate each other right now, they hate Israel more.
NEVERENDING ELECTION DEFLECTION
Netanyahu pushes past Gantz in polls. A poll suggests that, were Israeli elections held today, Netanyahu’s Likud Party would secure 33 Knesset seats, giving the ruling party a slight edge over challenger Gantz’s Blue and White, projected to win 32 seats. The poll also projected a tie between the blocs headed by each party, giving each one 56 mandates. Israel’s March 2 elections mark an unprecedented third vote within a 12-month span, but with polls showing a neck-and-neck race with neither right nor left seeming able to secure the 61-seat majority necessary to form a government, concerns are growing that Israel will find itself facing a fourth vote in the fall of 2020.
SO-CALLED “PEACE AND SECURITY”
UN calls for ‘two state’ solution to be respected in Middle East. UN Security Council Members reiterated their support for Israel and (so-called Palestine) to live side by side in peace within secure and recognized borders, said a statement released by Belgium, which holds the rotating presidency, and is supported by all 14 other members, including the US.
“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:3).
PESTILENCE AND PLAGUE
AI system [allegedly] discovers powerful new antibiotic to tackle superbugs. “We wanted to develop a platform that would allow us to harness the power of artificial intelligence to usher in a new age of antibiotic drug discovery,” says James Collins, senior author of the study. “Our approach revealed this amazing molecule which is arguably one of the more powerful antibiotics that has been discovered.” The molecule is named halicin, after the AI system HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey… sounds oddly ominous.
Locust Swarms invade the Persian Gulf and continue to breed in the Horn of Africa. The situation remains extremely alarming in the Horn of Africa, specifically Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia where widespread breeding is in progress and new swarms are expected to form in the coming weeks. In the past few days, there has been a significant movement of swarms over the Arabian Peninsula, unrelated to the Horn of Africa, that reached both sides of the Persian Gulf.
Urgent CDC warning: Coronavirus will hit US significantly; plan for ‘disruption. Centers for Disease Control warned on Tuesday that the coronavirus outbreak on American soil is inevitable. “We are asking the American public to prepare for the expectation that this might be bad,” said CDC’s Dr. Nancy Messonnier. “It’s not so much of a question of if this will happen in this country anymore but a question of when this will happen.” But on Friday, just 3 days later, the CDC suddenly walked-back their remarks, saying US risk remains low.” Why the sudden change, and which report should we believe?
The first coronavirus death (Washington State) in the US was reported on Saturday, Feb. 29. The man in his late 50s was said to be medically high-risk. News of the death comes on the heels of three new cases in California, Oregon and Washington in which the patients were infected by unknown means. They had not recently traveled overseas or had come into contact with anyone who had. As of Saturday night (according to Worldometers), there have been 69 confirmed cases in the US: 44 former passengers of the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan, 3 repatriated from Wuhan, and 22 US domestic cases.
There are 64 countries and territories with the coronavirus. Mexico, Belarus, Lithuania, New Zealand, Nigeria, Azerbaijan and the Netherlands are reporting their first cases. Threats to livelihoods are increasingly eyed as warily as the threats to lives.
The death toll in China has risen to 2,837. 47 more people died in the past 24 hours while 427 new cases were detected by health authorities, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to over 79,250.
FYI to Israel boycotters. Israeli scientists say they’re weeks away from coronavirus vaccine. Leave it to Israel to be at the forefront of technology, as usual. They’re close to developing the vaccine that could be ready in three weeks and available within 90 days.
Coronavirus may have been in Italy for weeks before it was detected. Italy has the largest number of cases outside of China and South Korea. Evidence suggests the virus may have been present since mid-January. Update as of Saturday night: 1,128 have been infected (1,049 active cases with 105 of them serious), 29 people have died, and the virus has spread from Italy across Europe. There are fears that the outbreak may tip Italy into economic recession. CDC recommends avoiding all nonessential travel to Italy. There’s limited access to adequate medical care in affected areas.
In Iran: main coronavirus hotspot in the Middle East. Iranian officials have said the death toll in the country is 34. But a report by BBC Persia claims that number is at least 210, with the vast portion in Tehran and the religious city of Qom where the first case was recorded last week. The government said it had no plans to quarantine cities and towns despite fears of a regional epidemic. Iranian officials asked people not to go to Qom, center of the outbreak, but haven’t shut a shrine in the city that attracts millions of Shia pilgrims each year. Iran knew for days that there were likely more cases in Qom, where religious pilgrims gather, but the regime purposely hid the numbers of sick. Researchers Say 61.5% Of Coronavirus Patients with Severe Pneumonia Won’t Survive. According to a study, patients especially vulnerable to severe COVID-19 infections (very old, very young and those with co-occurring conditions) die at a higher rate from COVID-19 than from SARS and MERS.
Chinese medical expert warns recovered coronavirus patients may still be contagious. Chinese respiratory expert, Zhao Jianping, said there are cases where patients tested positive after they’d recovered. “This is dangerous. Where do you put those patients? You cannot send them home because they might infect others, but you cannot put them in hospital as resources are stretched.”
Two thirds of COVID-19 cases exported from mainland China to the world may be undetected. A new report from a WHO infectious disease modeling team estimates about two-thirds of Covid-19 cases worldwide have gone undetected. The analysis suggests global spread is significantly greater than the current volume of confirmed cases.
San Francisco declares state of emergency as precaution over the coronavirus. Mayor London Breed said, “While no coronavirus cases have been confirmed in San Francisco, “the global picture is changing rapidly, and we need to step-up preparedness.” Can you imagine if the virus really takes hold there? It’s a literal breeding ground! Since I wrote this paragraph, The CDC has announced a newly confirmed case in northern California, and authorities have no idea how the victim was exposed to the virus. This individual had not traveled to a foreign country lately and had not had any contact with a known infected patient.
In Hong Kong, Coronavirus patient’s dog tests “weak” positive for COVID-19 but still unclear if it’s really infected. It was not immediately clear if the animal tested positive due to “environmental contamination” of the dog’s mouth and nose, according to a statement from the territory’s Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department. The department said it does not have evidence that pets can be infected with the virus or can be a source of infection to people.
EFFECT ON THE GLOBAL ECONOMY
The coronavirus outbreak is causing fears that are having an effect on the world’s economy. This should make us aware of two things: Either the coronavirus outbreak will end before the global economy tanks completely, or the bride of Christ will be taken up soon while the economy is still functioning enough so that most people are still able to go about their usual business. Here’s an excerpt from “The Coming Economic Crash” by Terry James:
“I believe that crash, that great “reset,” won’t happen during this dispensation [the Church age]. For America and the world to experience a total economic collapse—or even a collapse of tremendous, if not catastrophic, proportion—would mean the world situation would take years, if not decades, to recover. That is, the world would not be anything like Jesus, Himself, prophesied for the time of His next catastrophic intervention into the affairs of fallen mankind.
“The Lord said that when He next intervenes, there would be buying, selling, marrying, giving in marriage, building, and planting—i.e., business would be going along just fine, like in the days of Lot, when Sodom was perking right along when the fire and brimstone began to fall… Jesus forewarned that judgment would begin falling the very day He is next revealed [See Luke 17:26-30]. That will be when the whole world will know something of unprecedented, world-shaking import has occurred. That will be the moment when Jesus will say “Come up here!” All believers will vanish from this judgment-bound planet and appear with their Lord and Bridegroom. The collapse is coming. But first, I believe, so will the Lord Jesus Christ.”
