US Midwest: Historic August 2020 derecho destroyed over 1 million acres of crops, U.S. A devastating derecho ripped through several Midwest states on August 10 (for approximately 770 miles) leaving a path of destruction and over 404,600 hectares (1 million acres) of destroyed or damaged crops. Meteorology professor Victor Gensini called the event one of the worst US weather events of 2020.
Brethren, when you add this to extreme events causing loss of crops around the world, you can see it leading to Revelation 6:5-6 when even a loaf of bread will cost a day’s wages. Two storms head for US Gulf in rare hurricane season event. A pair of tropical cyclones forecast to become hurricanes early next week are headed for the US Gulf Coast and will spin over the Gulf’s warm waters simultaneously, a rare weather event that could cause massive disruption as they make landfall. There have never been two hurricanes in the US Gulf of Mexico at the same time.
California plagued by scorching heat, lightning, blackouts and even fire tornadoes. National Weather Service issued its first ever warning for a fire tornado. Photos of the “firenado” in California near the Nevada border reminds one of Sodom and Gomorrah. Pray for people’s safety and for the lost to turn to Christ. California’s Death Valley nearly 130 degrees last Sunday, shattering August record for region and all North America. It was the third hottest temperature recorded on Earth and hottest since 1930s. Other areas of California broke temperature records as well. The western United States continues to see scorching weather from Arizona to Montana.
California hit by nearly 11,000 lightning strikes within 3 days, some sparking brush fires.
Explosive fire activity in California. At least 5 people have been killed and more than 30 injured as destructive wildfires continue burning across California. More than 770 structures were destroyed, nearly 283,279 ha (700,000 acres) of land scorched, more than 60,000 people evacuated and 100,000 more placed under evacuation warnings. The governor declared a statewide state of emergency on August 18 as a result of the ongoing wildfires and heatwave affecting the state. As of early August 20, more than 400 wildfires are burning across the state.
Colorado: A wildfire caused by lightning on July 31 has spread to 49,283 ha (121,781 acres) by August 20. Since rapid spread on August 19, this is the second-largest wildfire in the state’s history.
Sudan: Major flooding leaves 65 people dead, over 220,000 affected, 40,000 homes hit as of Monday. 17 of the country’s 18 states have been impacted. Hurricane Genevieve is packing winds of 130 mph.
India: Heavy monsoon rains trigger flood chaos and landslides, killing as many as 868 people across several states. The season lasts from June to September and wreaks havoc across South Asia yearly. The flooding in recent days has seen houses swept away and agricultural crops destroyed in various regions. Millions have been affected, with many stranded in fast-flowing waters.
China: The province of Sichuan activated highest level of flood control response for the first time on record on Tuesday as rain-induced floods continue ravaging parts of the province. Meanwhile, the Three Gorges Dam in Hubei is facing the most severe floods since it was built in 2003.
South America: “Very intense” Antarctic air mass to sweep across wide swaths of South America this week (August 19 to 22) with potential to bring historic cold and snow.
Ireland and UK: Storm Ellen brought winds as strong as a Category 1 hurricane and heavy rains to parts of the UK and Ireland through Wednesday night. Winds up to 180 km/h (112 mph) were reported off the coast of southern Ireland. Flood warnings remain in force for Scotland, England, and Wales as of Friday, August 21. Early figures from Met Eireann said the storm set new weather records in Ireland for the month of August, including the mean wind speed records. Ellen formed over the Atlantic Ocean, driven by the remains of Hurricane “Kyle” and was named on Tuesday evening, August 18.

Five countries that could be next to make peace agreement with Israel. In the wake of normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), there are rumors that several other states could be next to sign a ‘peace’ agreement with Israel. While there are hurdles to normalizing relations with some states in the Middle East, there are others who view the UAE decision as a trial balloon and will react positively based on how the next weeks and months play out between Jerusalem and Abu Dhabi.
Repercussions: Israel’s Health Minister Yuli Edelstein [Likud] personally pledged to work against any initiatives to create a ‘Palestinian’ state in Area C of the West Bank. “To create a terror state from which attacks will be launched against Israel is an absurd situation. The US is considering selling F-35 stealth fighter jets to the United Arab Emirates, President Trump said on Wednesday. Trump’s comments came two days after Israel’s PM Netanyahu detailed multiple occasions on which he told US officials he opposes such a sale. Netanyahu denied reports that the deal is part of the normalization agreement between Israel and the UAE.
Emmanuel Macron Swoops in after Abraham Accord Peace Deal Reached with UAE. After a phone conversation with PA/PLO’s M. Abbas, Macron said he told the ‘Palestinian’ leader he was determined “to work for peace in the Middle East.” He added: “The resumption of talks to reach a fair solution that respects international law remains a priority.” He hailed the agreement as a “courageous decision” by the UAE, saying it showed Dubai’s “desire to contribute to the establishment of a just and lasting peace between Israel and the ‘Palestinians.’”

Incendiary Balloon Attacks Keep Coming into Israel from Gaza. Israel’s IDF struck Hamas targets in Gaza on Thursday, responding to incendiary balloon attacks that had entered Israel throughout the past day and caused fires in various regions. At least 28 fires broke out in the Gaza border communities on Wednesday. More than 200 fires broke out in the western Negev over the last two weeks.

Also on Friday, Incendiary balloons from Gaza spark 22 fires in southern Israel.
Israel warns Hamas of war as Egypt seeks to ease tensions. Israel warned Hamas it was risking “war” by failing to stop incendiary balloon attacks from Gaza, as fuel shortages in the ‘Palestinian’ enclave caused by Israel’s blockade caused widespread blackouts. Israel’s army said its fighter jets hit underground Hamas infrastructure, and linked the strikes to “explosive and arson balloons launched” from Gaza. The strikes came as visiting Egyptian security officials strove to defuse more than a week of heightened unrest that has included rocket and incendiary device attacks from Gaza and daily Israeli reprisals.
Giving up God’s Promised Land for so-called “peace,” has never and will never work! This is a prime example. The so-called “Palestinians” don’t care about their own state alongside Israel. They only care about destroying Israel. They want it all.

Minister proposes bringing 4,500 Falash Mura to Israel by year’s end. Aliyah, or return of the Jews to their biblical homeland, is yet another important biblically prophesied sign that the return of Messiah Jesus is approaching. First, He will take His bride, His true believers, in the rapture, then He will return with them at the end of the 7-year tribulation. Time is short. If you don’t know Christ, you’d better wake up. Most Ethiopian Jews have made Aliyah to Israel, but several thousand are still waiting. Israel’s Aliyah and Absorption Minister outlined plans to bring 4,500 members of the Falash Mura community in Ethiopia to Israel by the end of the year, and the remainder of those eligible to immigrate by 2023.
IN THE SKY
A car-sized asteroid made the closest Earth flyby a space rock has ever survived. It zoomed by at just 1,830 miles (2,950 kilometers) away. The flyby wasn’t expected and took many by surprise.
Unusual triple comet flew past the Sun this month. SOHO, a robotic satellite launched by NASA and ESA, spotted three comets flying nearby. “It was a triple comet,” said Karl Battams of the Naval Research Lab in DC. “The two main components are easy to spot, with the third, a very faint, diffuse fragment following alongside the leading piece.” Comets that are not part of the Kreutz family are considered unusual. After observing the triple comet’s trajectory, Battams noted that they are not part of the fragments family, and it is not yet clear where the objects originated.
Mars is approaching Earth for one of its best apparitions since 2003. It’s now brighter than Sirius, the brightest star in the sky. “Suddenly, Mars is almost bright enough to see in daylight and an easy target for backyard telescopes. By the night of closest approach on Oct. 6th, Mars will more than double in brightness again, outshining everything in the night sky except Venus and the Moon.”

UNDER THE EARTH
This should prove to a scientist as an example that hell is also real, but…
Darvasa Gas Crater referred to as the ‘Gates of Hell’ crater has burned in remote desert for 50 years. It was created when a drilling rig collapsed into a sinkhole leaking methane while prospectors were on the hunt for natural gas. At some point it caught fire and has been burning since. One scientist who has studied the burning crater said,
“The idea was to look to find out if there was any kind of bacteria that were living in this really extreme environment. There are planets outside of our solar system that have hot, methane-rich environments. So, if we could find even microscopic bacteria living in this crater, it could give us clues as to where we might want to look for life on other planets.”
Kourounis said the expedition was a “complete success,” as he found bacteria living at the bottom that was not previously listed in the DNA database — meaning he had discovered new life inside the Gates of Hell. Some of the lifeforms discovered were metabolizing the methane gas present in the crater, relying on a process known as chemosynthesis rather than photosynthesis, so they received their energy from the methane gas rather than the sun. “These are really extreme forms of life, they thrive in places that anything else would find completely, totally fatal,” he said. “The place is so absolutely beautiful; I found it hypnotizing,” Kourounis said. “[It’s] this beacon of light, especially at night, it lights up the whole sky.”
The only true beacon of light is Christ. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him (see John 14:6). Those who refuse to see the hand of God in creation want desperately to find life forms of all kinds “evolving” on other planets. Well, they won’t find life on other planets, but they will find it in hell unless they turn to Christ. The Bible tells us there are worms (maggots) in hellfire that do not die. In Mark 9: 44, 46, & 48: “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
CONCLUSION
God gives people a way out of going to Hell, but many refuse to open their eyes to the Truth of God’s word; therefore, they make their own choice to go to hell for eternity instead of spending it in glory with Jesus. “That which may be known of God is manifest” in mankind; God “has shown it to them.” So “they are without excuse.” (Read Romans 1:18-22.)
“For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them” (Matthew 13:15).
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not…
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:1-5; 12-14).
Softly and tenderly, Jesus is calling – calling ‘O sinner, come home.’
