Brethren, as I stated last week, the news is so overwhelming anymore that I’ve decided to highlight a few stories. We knew things would deteriorate more and more the closer we get to Christ’s return for us. And considering the convergence of the signs, it’s surely ever so near.

EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS

Death toll in fires raging in U.S. West rises to nearly 30, with dozens missing. Wildfires raging in the West have killed nearly 30 people with dozens of others missing and tens of thousands more in California, Oregon and Washington forced to flee their homes.

A Sign of The Times? Unprecedented Fires Have Turned Skies Blood Red. Many are using the word ‘apocalyptic’ to describe what is happening and even though hundreds of thousands of acres have already burned in Oregon and Washington officials are warning that conditions will get even worse as we head into ‘the teeth of the wildfire season.’

Hordes of mosquitoes kill livestock after Hurricane Laura. Swarms of mosquitoes are killing livestock in southern Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura. The Category 4 storm hit the state on Aug. 27, pushing the insects out of the state’s marshes. “The population just exploded in the southwest part of the state,” said Jeremy Hebert with LSU AgCenter in Acadia Parish, about 150 miles west of New Orleans. The mosquitoes are draining the lifeblood of the creatures in their path. Cattle losses are widespread, according to the center.

Heavy rains flood Washington DC Metro area. Downpours across the Washington region on Thursday caused multiple roads to be closed and flooded. Montgomery County reported 300 service calls in and three hours, and more than 25 water rescues, while Prince George’s County said they received 250 calls in four hours, with 134 being water-related. Storm Team 4 meteorologist said up to 5 inches of rain have already fallen across portions of the D.C. area. Multiple water rescues occurred in Montgomery County as vehicles were stuck in high water from flash flooding.

Five Named Storms Possible Next Week. We are at the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season, and you can tell it, with five named storms possible in the next few days.

Temperatures plunge by 60 degrees in under 24 hours, bringing snow to Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota. Summer came to an abrupt halt in parts of the Rocky Mountains on Tuesday as temperatures reaching into the 90s plunged by around 60 degrees in less than 24 hours, with a powerful surge of cold air from Canada unleashing snow and damaging winds in several states.

200,000 people homeless after severe floods hit Far North, Cameroon. At least five fatalities have been reported, livestock and crops have been affected, and thousands of houses have been damaged or destroyed. Flood victim Souley Amadou said affected people have no shelter and sleep outside on the ground, asking the government to come to their aid. Another victim said they have nothing left to eat, and children were suffering the most. Some locals had to build their own makeshift camps. “We’re losing people, animals, onions, grain, the chickens, everything. The floods just take everything. We are left with nothing here in Merem.”

Wounded Army vet outraged his image used for anti-Trump propaganda. Liberal Left Liars! The Atlantic ran an anonymously sourced article claiming President Trump called U.S. troops “losers” and “suckers.” Bobby Henline, a four-tour Iraq War veteran, told Fox News that he felt anti-Trump activists were using his image to promote a story he did not believe was true. Henline was the lone survivor of an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in Iraq that killed four other soldiers. As a result, he lost his left hand and suffered extensive burn injuries. Henline noted several social media pages, such as Occupy Democrats and an MSNBC Rachel Maddow fan group on Facebook shared memes with his image, alongside claims Trump called veterans like him “losers.”

Good intentions or not, God says do not divide His land. And this is what these covenants with many are leading to. But such are the last of the last days in which we are living. Bahrain official: Deal with Israel serves regional interests. Bahrain’s decision to establish relations with Israel serves the interests of the region’s “security, stability and prosperity,”, Khalid al-Khalifa, a former foreign minister and adviser to the king said. “It sends a positive and encouraging message to the people of Israel, that a just and comprehensive peace with the Palestinian people is the best path,” al-Khalifa tweeted. The White House announced earlier that US President Trump, King Salman al-Khalifa of Bahrain, and Prime Minister Netanyahu had agreed to the establishment of full diplomatic relations between Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Bahrain thus becomes the second Gulf state to normalize ties with Israel, after the UAE and Israel announced they were normalizing relations on August 13.

Prime Minister Netanyahu said he was excited to announce a peace agreement with another Arab country. “It took us 26 years since the second peace agreement with an Arab state to reach a third peace agreement, and it took us not 26 years but 29 days to reach a peace agreement with a fourth Arab state, and there will be more,” Netanyahu said in video published after the declaration. Trump welcomed the Bahrain-Israel agreement on Twitter, hailing it as a “historic breakthrough.”

We live in an increasingly hostile and frightening planet that has made a Covenant of Sin and Death. This world is caught in an endless circle of seeking pleasure but never finding lasting satisfaction.

And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. (John 6:35)

There is only One Hope. This same hope is offensive to many people who reject their sinful state and cringe at the name of Jesus Christ. Yet he says of Himself:

“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. (John 10:9)

And this:

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

Christ promised a resurrection to those who choose Him. They will possess powerful and incorruptible bodies similar to His own, and experience eternal joy (1 Cor 15:42-43; 1 John 3:2).

Man’s natural destiny is death. Do you know where you’re heading?

FINISHING THE RACE

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Brethren, I feel strongly, as do many others, that we’re in the “home stretch,” so to speak, that this is the last call before the church age ends and we’re taken up to escape the coming wrath. We don’t expect the news to be good for the most part, given the lateness of the hour, but reading through so much of it daily is having a negative effect on me. So, I will be highlighting areas of concern rather than going into detail of all the who, what and where. Hang in there, brethren; keep spreading the gospel of Christ while we still can, and praying for those who are lost and hurting.

According to The New York Times, potentially 90% of those who’ve tested positive for COVID-19 have such insignificant amounts of the virus in their bodies that they don’t need to isolate nor are they candidates for contact tracing. Leading public health experts are now concerned that overtesting is responsible for misdiagnosing a huge number of people with harmless amounts of the virus in their systems.

New polio outbreak in Sudan caused by oral vaccine. The World Health Organization says a new polio outbreak in Sudan is linked to an ongoing vaccine-sparked epidemic in Chad. Two children in Sudan were paralyzed in March and April. Both had been recently vaccinated against polio.

The insanity continues with BLM and Antifa. These are Marxist and anarchist organizations bought and paid for to take down the only nation standing in the way of the totalitarian communist government that the Left wants to put in place.

Negating American history – BLM/Antifa embody ISIS on U.S. soil. It wasn’t that long ago that ISIS swept across Syria and Iraq, bulldozing historical shrines in an effort to eradicate the past. ‘PEACE’ WITH MANY

Saudi Arabia to open its airspace to Israel in nod to Middle East peace. Saudi Arabia announced it would allow Israeli flights to the United Arab Emirates to cross its airspace, in the latest sign that the Middle East is slowly moving in the direction of normalized ties with Israel. “These are the benefits of a peace that is genuine,” Prime Minister Netanyahu said.

Bahrain Set to Normalize Relations with Israel. Bahrain is set to be the next Gulf country to normalize relations with Israel. Washington looks to mediate the peace talks between the two countries and hopes to hold the official normalization ceremony before the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah. The report follows the historic peace agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel, which was brokered by the United States in August. Bahrain will also allow flights between Israel and the UAE to use its air space.

Egypt’s Sisi: UAE-Israel deal ‘step to Mideast peace’. Egypt’s President al-Sisi said the UAE-Israel normalization accord represents a step towards regional peace by preserving ‘Palestinian’ rights and Israeli security. In a phone call with Prime Minister Netanyahu, Sisi voiced his support for “any steps that would bring peace” to the volatile Middle East.
