When the Vengeful Think They Are the Virtuous

I had hoped that the left’s complete victory over Trump and the Republican party would have placated them for a few months. It now appears that satisfaction will only come when they turn America into a dictatorship. The biggest difference between the right and the left is that the left has no empathy. They believe they are 100% correct and everyone else is wrong.

It should be obvious to all Americans that the second impeachment of Donald Trump was nothing more than an exercise in stupidity. We’ve done this before with the same outcome–acquittal. The Democrats voted to kick him out of an office that he has already vacated. I can only wonder if some new criminal offense will surface that will require a third “historic” impeachment of the same man.

The left’s pettiness in its hatred of all things Trump should have triggered outrage. The Washington Post argued that Trump doesn’t deserve to have a presidential library. Biden said Trump was too dangerous to receive any more intelligence briefings, which has been granted to all previous presidents.

I’m sure citizen Donald’s life is going to become a nightmare. Because all America’s current problems are the result of Trump, no action taken against him will be reported as going too far. We may see credit card companies and vendors decline to provide services to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. Even the most hardcore Democrats should not want to live in a nation where the mob decides who should be persecuted for their political views.

Gina Carano, a mixed martial artist who played the hard-charging mercenary Cara Dune on “The Mandalorian,” was sacked by Lucasfilm after comparing modern-day conservatives to Jews persecuted during the Holocaust. She had reposted the following tweet:

“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers, but by their neighbors… even by children,” the post reads. “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

Pedro Pascal, the lead actor in The Mandalorian, also made a politically-charged Holocaust comparison, and it seems Disney has not taken any action in his case. In the summer of 2018, when Democrats demonized President Donald Trump for putting “kids in cages” by sharing photos of children put in cages during the Obama administration, Pascal explicitly compared the “kids in cages” claim to the Holocaust. He shared two images with the hashtag “ThisisAmerica.”

Virginia Heffernan, a columnist for the Los Angeles Times, wrote the most perverse column in recent memory. The title: “What can you do about the Trumpites next door?” Heffernan wasn’t lamenting neighbors who had jokingly put pro-Trump signs in her yard or who had participated in the Jan. 6 riots. No, Heffernan was lamenting the travails of living next door to Trump supporters who dared to clear her driveway of snow.

Heffernan writes, “Trumpites next door to our pandemic getaway … just plowed our driveway without being asked and did a great job.” This simple act launched Heffernan into a journey of angst and rage. “How am I going to resist demands for unity in the face of this act of aggressive niceness?” she bemoans. “I realize I owe them thanks — and, man, it really looks like the guy back-dragged the driveway like a pro — but how much thanks?”

Many of the people who invaded the Capital Hill building cannot find lawyers to represent them. It shows how vile and uncivilized our nation has become. The defendants at Nuremberg were provided with legal counsel because, at that time, people still had respect for the rule of law. With there being no middle ground for rational debate, civil war or death squads for anyone seen as a foe will be the fate of our nation.

We are likely beyond the point where an event could trigger a revival to constitutional thinking or even a pause in our decline. When people become so irrational that they think they have a monopoly on truth, there is no reasoning that will return them to sanity.

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!” (Isaiah 5:20-21).

Israel in End-Times Spotlight

While the globalists, world media, and the American political deep state wind up another unsuccessful effort to bring down one man, the spotlight of Bible prophecy focuses on exactly where it should be at this late hour of the age.

Israel shines brightly as the number-one signal of where this generation is on God’s prophetic timeline.

We begin to understand that this is true by considering that Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, faces much of the same sort of globalist deep-state hatred and attempted destruction as former President Donald Trump. In this way, the student of Bible prophecy who looks at things from the pre-Trib view again comprehends the Heaven-directed linkage between His chosen nation and our own very special republic founded on Judeo-Christian principles.

Both men, intensively in the world’s spotlight for the past number of years, seem an almost joined-at-the-hip representation of this God-directed connection.

America was instrumental in Israel again springing to national existence on May 14, 1948, as we know. This, despite great objections from the American State Department. Looking at the history, we can see the hand of the Almighty as He moved in the lives of President Harry Truman and his one-time haberdashery partner, a Jewish man named Eddie Jacobson.

Jacobson prevailed upon his friend, then president, to intervene on behalf of the drive to give the Jews a homeland in ancient Israel’s geographical location. This Truman did, overriding objections by his secretary of state and all other naysayers’ objections. It is obvious, even to skeptics, that America has been immensely blessed through championing modern Israel’s right to exist.

Just as when Barack Obama became president and showed disrespect and even disdain for Netanyahu and Israel, the new president, Joe Biden, has opted to put America’s relationship with the Jewish state in question. As a matter of fact, his treatment is seen by many as rude at best and disdainful at worst. The following gives a glimpse of the current president’s attitude.

President Joe Biden is the first American leader in 40 years not to contact Israel’s leaders as one of his first actions in the White House, setting up what could be four years of chilly relations between America and its top Middle East ally.

Biden has already phoned multiple world leaders, including Russian president Vladimir Putin and Chinese president Xi Jinping, but during his 23 days in office has yet to speak with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu—making Biden the first president in modern history to punt on bolstering U.S.-Israel relations during his initial days in office. Every president going back to at least Ronald Reagan in 1981 made contact with their Israeli counterpart within a week of assuming office, according to a review of news reports.

Congressional foreign policy leaders slammed Biden’s Netanyahu snub, prompting a flurry of questions for White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who has declined to disclose when or if Biden will call the Israeli leader. Psaki also said on Friday the White House would not list Israel as a U.S. ally when asked about the relationship during her daily press briefing. (“Biden Makes History: First President in 40 Years to Punt on Contacting Israel – White House doesn’t list Israel as American ally,” Washington Free Beacon, February 14, 2021)

The report gives facts about Israel’s ties to America. For example, modern presidents going back to Reagan have almost on the day of assuming office made calls or gotten in contact with Israel. Almost without exception, the messages have included that the US would stand firmly with Israel and its right to nationhood. Biden’s obviously intentional disrespect for Netanyahu and for Israel comes at a time when Israel faces increasing terrorist threats and a bellicose Iran that threatens to produce and use nuclear arms within the very near future.

The report also informs that Biden “also has hired several individuals with a background in anti-Israel activism, including Maher Biter, a top White House National Security Council official who spent his youth organizing boycotts of the Jewish state. The State Department’s Iran envoy, Robert Malley, also has been a vocal critic of Israel.”

When thinking on the growing anti-Semitism across the world and the fact that Iran seems on the brink of becoming a nuclear power, the observer of prophetic stage-setting for soon fulfillment can’t miss the signposts. Israel is indeed in the spotlight of God’s omniscience. His chosen nation is moving swiftly and exactly into the position prophesied by Zechariah millennia ago. In his prophecy is a dire warning for all in authority as heads of nations–including the president of the United States.

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. (Zechariah 12: 3)

Domestic Terrorists

The leftist establishment has made a fighting handful in going after Trump to going after the people who supported him. They seek to dehumanize everyone they see as the enemies of the state. They have a monopoly on truth, which allows them to fact-check everyone on the right.

John Brennan, the former CIA director under President Obama, has been an active cheerleader in calling for the Biden administration to seek out domestic terrorists. He speaks authoritatively for the Deep State.

He said on MSNBC that “the members of the Biden team who have been nominated or have been appointed are now moving in laser-like fashion to try to uncover as much as they can about what looks very similar to insurgency movements that we’ve seen overseas, where they germinate in different parts of the country and they gain strength and it brings together an unholy alliance frequently of religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists, even libertarians.”

This “guilt by labeling” is the antithesis of fair play or justice. Rep. Ilhan Omar claims [a] ‘looney tunes’ white supremacist movement is taking over the GOP. Never mind that she made numerous anti-Semitic statements. Omar will never lose a house committee seat because hate is what the Democratic Party runs on.

I’ve long quit using Yahoo News as a source of current event information. I only visit the site to see who is their latest target for destruction. They must have the names of all conservatives on a roulette-style wheel, and they spin it each morning to see whose life they are going to seek to slander.

The name of My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell must have recently hit on a spin. He is under attack for repeatedly citing conspiracy theories about election fraud. March for Our Lives co-founder David Hogg tweeted that he and software developer William LeGate are launching a pillow company to drive My Pillow into bankruptcy. There are so many pillow companies in America that I don’t foresee Hogg putting a dent in Lindell’s market share. I thought Mr. Hogg was all into gun-control activism because of his connection to the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. Maybe this vindictive wonder boy is working on a bulletproof pillow.

Another target of Yahoo was Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. This woman clearly has some strange beliefs. She supports the ‘Pizzagate’ conspiracy that alleges that some Democratic Party leaders were running a human-trafficking and pedophilia ring that was being run from the basement of a pizza restaurant in Washington DC. She accused Barack Obama of being a secret Muslim. My favorite was her belief that a group of Jews had space lasers that they used to start wildfires in the western states. The Democrats voted to remove Rep. Greene from two committees. You can still be a flake in Washington, DC, but you have to be one from the left.

The most shocking example of this Big Brother culture was when Douglass Mackey of Delray Beach, Fla., was arrested for creating memes that allegedly misled voters in 2016 to think they could vote by texting instead of by actually going to the polls. This type of humor should be protected as free speech simply because it’s so absurd. The FBI offered no evidence that Mackey actually convinced anyone not to vote, but even if it did, so what? Would you rather live in a country where the FBI is hunting down pranksters — four years after the supposed transgression — or a country where voters are expected to be able to recognize a joke when they see one?

I remember the time when Johnny Carson caused a toilet paper shortage in 1973 after making a joke on The Tonight Show. “You know, we’ve got all sorts of shortages these days. But have you heard the latest? I’m not kidding. I saw it in the papers. There’s an acute shortage of toilet paper!” said Carson. The shortage he read about involved commercial-grade toilet paper. If Carson had made those comments about a talent shortage, people would call for him to be fired.

We didn’t declare war on the establishment; it declared war on us. If you step outside the lines, be prepared to be shamed, silenced and ostracized. Here is just a short list of some of the areas where we have lost ground:

  • Our religious beliefs did not deserve the protection of the First Amendment.
  • Some of our children are not good enough because they are white.
  • Boys can compete against girls in high school sports.
  • Our ideas are not worthy of debate and discussion.
  • We have to trust the government’s official pronouncements about elections.
  • Defending the Constitution’s rules for federal elections is sedition.
  • We get labeled as racists if we want better protection of our borders.

If Christians had been more organized and more prayerful about who we let rule over us, our nation would not be in such a sad state. I’m relieved in knowing we will likely escape this world, but we may have to explain to our Lord why we needed to be rescued.

“Exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).

What manner?

The student of Bible prophecy from the pre-Trib perspective can spiritually sense it. This generation is bumping up against the extreme edge of the end of the age.

Although the Apostle Peter was given Holy Spirit foreknowledge of the time I believe we are now a part of, he had no way of knowing the expansive time frame that was involved in his prophecy.

He wrote in one intensively compact burst of inspiration the entire scope of history yet future from the time of his writing. It came out as the following:

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. (2 Peter 3:9–14)

That sweeping vista of the future is stunning when we stop to contemplate it, study it, and dissect it!

The great apostle, emerging out of the shores of the Galilee and other fishing holes of the time as a simple fisherman, was given by the Holy Spirit the spectacular vista. It was a stupendous vision of earth’s timeline that will conclude with God’s entire creation being completely dissolved, then remade into the perfection He first produced.

Peter begins by addressing, it seems, the question so many of us who watch current evil machinations are asking today: “How long, oh Lord?” Why is God taking so much time to deal with the wickedness that is causing all of humanity to spiral downward so rapidly?

God had Peter write those words because He isn’t willing for a single person to perish—that is, perish eternally, with their soul being lost forever, apart from God.

When we look at that single line Peter was directed to write, we can get a look into our God’s wonderful character—His matchless love for each individual ever to be allowed into the world in the human birth process.

He is having Peter tell us that this is the reason He seems slow to anger, slow to punish with judgment and wrath. We can, as believers who hold to Luke 21:28, Titus 2:13, and other such scriptural encouragements, look to Peter’s words  to get some degree of understanding of why He lets things become increasingly wicked.

What we are really saying—I guess I should say, “what yours truly is really saying”—when posing the question is: “Why doesn’t the Lord act against this evil as I think he should?” Or “Why doesn’t the Lord hurry up and call us to be with Him in the Rapture?”

The next thing that pops into the gray matter, then, is: “Do you really not care that so many will have to face the evil of Antichrist and the Tribulation following that thief-in-the-night moment?” It’s a humbling prodding by the Holy Spirit. We should try our best to think as our Lord does. After all, He indwells us and has given us the ability to do so.

He further gives Peter the words to pass along in the form of a question:

What manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God?

Part of looking for the soon coming of our Lord should be, I am convicted, to have compassion for those about whom we often feel quite the opposite. Godliness, you see, is not being willing for anyone to perish, but wanting all to come to repentance.

This is a truth from the heart and mind of God that I truly will have to get serious about as we proceed into that dark future Mr. Biden has forewarned. It won’t be easy; there is much uneasiness as we consider prophetic developments. But the Holy Spirit has given Peter the words from which we must not turn away.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

This is the manner in which we should be—“in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God”—which, incidentally, comes as a thief in the night!
