I’ve written about apostasy before, but things are increasingly getting worse. The Pope has been praying to Allah along with Muslims, thinking he is doing a good thing by building bridges with this evil, erroneous and insidious religion.

Now it is reported that certain other “Christian” people are also following suit.

A certain reader who lives in North Carolina sent me an e-mail to inform me of some Christian church leaders who were “reaching out” to Muslims by letting them take over a Pentecostal church in her home town, turning it into a Mosque. Pastor Jim Melnyk of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church took part in the ceremonies, as did other clergy from Baptist and Methodist congregations. He talked about building bridges of understanding with these mislead people.

Bible prophecy continues to be fulfilled about the “falling away” and apostasy.

Something we have to realize is that these are only sinful men like the Pharisees and Scribes who condemned Christ Jesus to death. Such people lean on their own understanding.

As things continue to get hairy and we get a sinking feeling that things aren’t going to turn out well, we are reminded that Jesus said, “When I return, will I find any faith?”  But we who are resisting being pulled into this politically correct fallacy can rise above it all.

We all know the Bible story about how Peter saw Jesus walking on water and got out of the boat to greet him. He even began walking on the surface of the water, but when he realized he was doing something extraordinary he began sinking.

All too often we find ourselves in the same boat (pun intended).  When the storms of life surround us we too begin to panic, even though Jesus is right there with us in the form of the comforter. The amount of fear and/or panic is related directly to the amount of faith we’ve acquired through Scripture. Repeatedly Jesus says, “Fear not” about every instance of adversity in life. We should not lean on our own understanding but trust our Creator God in every circumstance.

The Bible says that he just shall live by faith and that without faith it is impossible to please God.  But where do we get faith? Again the Bible has the answer, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” If you aren’t growing in faith it is because you aren’t reading the Bible. The more you read it the stronger you become. “The Word of God is swift and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing to the asunder of bone and marrow and the soul and spirit and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

The Bible leads us into all truth. Although all men are liars, God is not. His Word is Truth.

I’ve never known God to go back on His Word, even during times when He seems to be out of reach. Perhaps this is a test to see where we are in faith. I’ve noticed that all too often, God waits until the very last minute to answer our prayer, resulting in stretching you and refining you to become more like His son Christ Jesus, who himself cried out in agony to be spared the brutal fate that awaited Him. But three days later, Jesus ascended to the Father for His inheritance, gloriously and radiantly alive. Today He sits at the right hand of God, interceding  for us who are going through difficult times.

Just when we think we are about to drown, Jesus reaches out to us when we cry out in desperation, and we are saved from our doubts and delivered from the evil one.

After a time with the faith you’ve garnered from Scripture you will begin to “walk on water” fearlessly, knowing that God is your mainstay and anchor in times of trouble, and that He delights in your efforts to know Him better and better.  The Bible says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”  That is why it is imperative to study to show ourselves approved, rightly discerning the Word of God.

We should have no fear of tomorrow.  Jesus said, “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Learn to live by faith in God’s Word and many promises.

With all that going on in the world anyone in their right mind would have to agree that something’s going on in the world beyond our control. Yet we in the USA are so privileged that we barely notice that life is getting out of hand everywhere else—where our brothers and sisters in Christ are being brutally killed, decapitated or persecuted. But it stands to reason that third world countries would be hit first with this realization since their lives are a daily struggle for survival. they are ruled by evil thugs and where radical Islamists are breaking down their doors to do them harm just because they are Christians or of another religion.

Nevertheless, as Americans we have been either in denial or didn’t understand that this calamity could soon overtake us too. (That is until recently.) Now our populous is yearning for the good old days. The prophets of God wrote the history of the world and of things to come under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and everything they wrote has proven to be true, from the history  of Creation up until this very day’s uncertainty and beyond.

The problem is that too many of us are biblically illiterate, and too many others are in denial and blind to these facts. The god of this world has them blinded and they are stumbling recklessly into the ever darkening future. Then of course there are others who don’t want anything to do with spiritual matters or accountability—because their deeds are evil. I run into both of them all the time now.

The world is collapsing into a jumbled mass of conflict and uncertainty. Every day we read of random murder and madness descending upon our society and the world at large. But some will finally come to their senses too late during the Tribulation period. That being the case, many will have to endure unspeakable horror and radiation poisoning if not immediate immolation while standing on their feet like the Old Testament prophet Daniel describes.

Many are still living under the delusion that things will go on as before— marrying and giving in marriage (sometimes for the fourth or fifth time and scratching desperately for money). At this point in time we ought to be on our knees praying in our nation’s churches day and night.

Here’s what Jesus said about the time, in which we live in Matthew 24:

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in various places.  All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

I’m surprised that the Church isn’t correlating Jesus’ words with all that’s happening today. I can’t help but believe we are living well within that time frame right now, even as we speak. The remainder of Matthew chapter 24 reveals the Tribulation period (which is right around the corner). To understand more, read your Bible, repent and receive Christ – if you haven’t done so already.

I recently witnessed to two different men on different occasions at the local fishing pier. The   day before I had witnessed to another man, all three were atheists. And although they were unbelievers, they listened to what I had to say. One said I could come and fish on his property.  Another actually gave me a fishing lure. The third offered to take me out for a beer, but since I don’t drink I declined.

Today I went to the pier again since the fishermen were nibbling, I’m glad I did, because I was able to meet another Christian writer and was able to witness to two others. I gave them my two sided card and told them things to think about, the end times, prophecy, bible quotes, Jesus and my testimony. Since everyone knows what’s going on in the world most are open to dialogue, especially if you have something of substance to share.

What capped the day for me was when I stopped to talk to a mildly dark skinned middle aged man who was leaning over the guard rail watching a dolphin surface and dive.  With a smile I asked if the porpoise he was watching was a dolphin or a porpoise. The question caught him off guard but after mulling it over— a grin crossed his face, and he knew I was only being facetious.

I asked where he was from and he replied that he was from Egypt. I told him I was a Christian and he smiled even bigger and said “I am too!” he explained that he was a Coptic Christian and that he was here having escaped Muslim persecution. Since I’m a history buff and love archeology I asked if the Jews had built the pyramids, he said they had and gave me a rundown about how he thinks they did it. We talked until his wife came on the scene. I gave him a light hug and left. What a wonderful and exciting day I had. I didn’t catch any fish but then again, I’m a fisher of men, not fish.

Surprisingly, I get more respect from nonbelievers than religious people. These are the same religious people whom you email and get no response from—religious leaders and Bible teachers who turn away from you when they see you coming into the church—religious people who would rather talk about football than the things of God…

 Do you know anyone like that?

 I live a most interesting life, and it’s all because of Jesus. Why don’t you join in the harvest; the fields are ripe and the world needs all the help it can get; just remember to put on the full armor of God.
