Cold Winds Blow
When I was a kid, I constantly heard people in church talk about “visiting the Holy Land.” (Interestingly, I heard this term much more than Israel. Hmm.)
Seeing the Holy Land was almost an unattainable dream for most. Air travel in those days seemed restricted to “rich people” and business travelers. I only lightly thought seriously about ever doing that. I don’t know what a plane ticket cost in, say, 1975, but it was more than I could afford.
But after my first visit in 1998, I saw how relatively easy the whole process was. After several trips, I was brave enough to rent a car and drive myself around the country! I probably was prouder of that than getting my driver’s license!
By God’s grace, I was able to take family members in later years and would love to take more.
Doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.
I talked with a friend of mine this morning; he lives in Israel. I asked if the rumors I’d heard were true, that air travelers would be required to show proof of the vaccine. He said yes. Evidently at some point, the policy might be “relaxed” enough to mean just “negative COVID test.”
According to the BBC:
“Israel has the highest vaccination rate in the world. More than half the population have already received two vaccine doses. Last month it was able to begin easing a nationwide lockdown.
“A ‘Green Pass’ is available to anyone who has been fully vaccinated or has recovered from Covid-19. They have to show it to access facilities such as hotels, gyms or theatres.
“It is available as a paper certificate or in an app, which links users to their personal health ministry data.
“The app is opening up opportunities for international travel. Israel has struck deals with Greece and Cyprus so Israeli citizens with passes can travel to those two countries.
“However, several issues have been reported with the system since it was rolled out.
“Foreign nationals cannot get hold of the pass, nor can vaccinated citizens who are not insured with an Israeli healthcare provider. Experts have expressed privacy concerns over the smartphone app, and the government has admitted the police do not have the staff to check if businesses are complying with the new rules.”
I find this all dismaying. I get that there is a virus. I get that people have died. But I will tell you—as a still-free citizen of the U.S.—that it’s clear to me globalists unleashed it to control the population. The mask mandates, vaccine demands, etc. are draconian.
And look, if you want to take the vaccine, take it. But when a system arises, is on the horizon, that mandates people must take it or not be able to work or do business…well, I think you know where that’s going.
Maybe something will change in the future. We know very little about the future, save for what the Bible tells us. As I constantly harp, we can’t take today’s news and make our own predictions for what biblical war is coming quickly, or not.
But the broad view is that the entire “COVID” agenda is about more than public health. I’ve spoken to credible medical professionals that believe it was bio-warfare waged by China. And as I mentioned, it’s interesting that prophecy teachers’ insistence that a Beast system would arise a la Revelation is now not only not farfetched; I think you’re daft if you don’t believe in it.
I will not visit Israel again unless they remove the draconian travel restrictions.
I can live with that.
The New Jerusalem will have no such restrictions.
