Thus Saith The Lord :: by Grant Phillips

The wonders of God are all around us, but even yet most do not believe in the one and only true God of Heaven. He says of them:

“The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.” (Psalms 14:1)

“The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.” (Psalms 53:1)

The Lord God reveals Himself through all of His creation, but still they do not see. The handiwork of God exists all around us, but blind eyes to not see. The Lord says:

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” (Romans 1:18-20)

Consider these statistics.

There are three to 100 million species of animals in the world.

There are 339 breeds of dogs in the world.

There are 41 breeds of cats in the world.

There are at least 200 breeds of horses in the world.

There are sixteen common cattle breeds in the world.

There are 300 breeds of goats in the world.

There are 200 breeds of sheep in the world.

There are 10,000 different species of birds in the world.

There are nearly 28,000 different types of fish in the world.

There are 264 different species of monkeys in the world.

There are 17,500 species of butterflies in the world.

There are 165 major rivers in the world.

There are 117 million lakes in the world.

There are 30 million, and counting, mountains in the world.

There are 100,000 different species of trees in the world.

There are 250,000 to 400,000 different types of flowers in the world.

There are 11,000 different types of moss in the world.

There are 8.7 million different types bushes in the world.

NOTE: Some of these figures may differ; depending on what location they are derived. The point is the diversity of God’s creation.

We haven’t even considered the intricacies of the microscopic world, or the human body, or the vastness of space, or any of millions of other examples. Again, the point is God’s awesome diversity in creation in showing His wonder.

All of these things I have mentioned, and more, are around us on a daily basis. Do we actually see them? Do we realize where they originated? Do we realize their uniqueness among all of creation? Some do. Most do not.

God speaks to us through His holy and inerrant Word, the Bible. He speaks to this fallen world through all that we see around us. There will be no excuses for those who reject Him when they see Him face to face at the White Throne judgment.

“Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.” (Romans 1:22-23)

God created man in the likeness of Himself, in that he is capable of planning, reasoning, administrating, communicating with God, etc. (Genesis 1:26) Instead, man sold his birthright to Satan and became animalistic in his behavior. He was to rule over the animals and nature, but has sunk to the level of devils in his actions and reactions toward God. Only His Creator God can bring him out of the pit. (Psalms 40:2)

However, man has placed himself in the crosshairs of God’s judgment in these final days. Time is running out, and those who will, need to listen to what God is saying to them.

In the remaining verses of Romans chapter one, God clearly shows our downward descent toward judgment. There are three steps and we are on the bottom rung.

STEP 1

“Therefore GOD GAVE THEM OVER in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.” (Romans 1:24-25 Emphasis mine)

STEP 2

“Because of this, GOD GAVE THEM OVER to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.” (Romans 1:26-27 Emphasis mine)

STEP 3

“Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so GOD GAVE THEM OVER to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” (Romans 1:28-32 Emphasis mine)

God gave them over first to “sinful desires,” then to “shameful lusts,” and finally to “a depraved mind.” There is absolutely no doubt to any sane person who will take heed that today’s society revels in sinful desires, shameful lusts with a depraved mind.

The stench of our sins has polluted our very beings. God will soon send His Son to remove His own from this rebellious world, and then His judgment will fall upon the earth and all who remain; “God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death.”

Most people today act as though nothing is wrong with how we live toward God. Most seem to think an election will solve all our problems. Most dream of the “dawning of the age of Aquarius,” and have no thought of the age of Tribulation and judgment that is just around the corner.

Jesus is coming soon. I’m not going to be here. Millions of others who know the Lord Jesus as their own personal Savior and Lord will not be here. Our desire is that you join with us in anticipating the coming of our Lord. Repent and go with us when He comes. Don’t be a fool by not listening to the voice of God in all we see around us.

God has spoken clearly to our five senses and our minds. Most importantly He has spoken through His Word the Bible, and in this Book is our only hope of salvation. In it are His words that say, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31) In it are His words, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) And in it He says, “Now is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2)

Political Insanity :: by Grant Phillips

If you have ever seen a child tear down a Lego house they built you may have an idea of just how rapidly and devastatingly the world is imploding. This country in particular is falling apart so fast it’s mind boggling. We have always had our problems, but we have, until about 60-70 years ago, been a nation practicing the principles of the Bible, at least on the surface.

We got smart though. We decided we didn’t need God, and all those things He said were just cramping our style.

How do you devalue a person? Eliminate God. Teach that humans came from monkeys or primordial slime, and that there was no Biblical creation, just deposits from aliens. As a result, since a person is no more valuable than an animal, we get rampant and illicit sex, an increase in murder, abortion, etc. Oh forget this. Let’s read what the apostle Paul tells his protégé Timothy about the last days.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was. (2 Timothy 3:1-9)

One mistake we often make when reading these nine verses is that we read them too fast. Now be honest. You did too. Read them REAL SLOW, one at a time, and allow them to register in the brain. Certain faces start coming to mind don’t they? As long as it isn’t ours, I guess it’s alright.

Do these nine verses depict these days we live in or don’t they? You know they do. Folks this is what we have become, and this is why we have committed political insanity at the voting booths. Have you noticed that every time an election comes around, the choices keep getting more and more undesirable? If you haven’t noticed, then you are burying your head in the sand and unknowingly have become part of the problem.

I know plenty of good, decent, hardworking folks who will believe anything a politician may say, as long as the one saying it is within their political party. To be perfectly honest, we’ve been to the point for some time now of voting for the lesser of the evils.

We have career politicians that have been in office far, far too long. Our federal, state and local governments are almost totally corrupt. However, I personally don’t blame the politicians. They’re just being themselves. We are to blame, and when I say “we,” I also mean the Church. The Laodicean mindset has taken over the thinking of many who profess Jesus as their Savior and Lord.

There are always a few who speak out on behalf of God, but by and large, the Christian community has gone the way of Balaam. When it comes to the future of our country and thereby our children, we have gone politically insane by being spiritually ignorant and cowards par excellence.

Could it possibly be we approve of what the world says and does? If not, then why do we live no differently than those who don’t know Christ?

There are still many good Christian people left in this country who live their lives as unto the Lord, but unfortunately, they are in the minority. Most who claim Christianity live their lives no differently than those who do not. Why should the unsaved man be interested in an eternal change in his life? He looks as good as what he sees from those who claim to be Christians.

This is what makes it harder on those who do live apart from the world. They are seen as old fuddy-duddies, mean-spirited and uncompromising. The truth is that real Christians are the most loving people there are, but because they won’t jump in the sewer with everyone else, they’re labeled a party-pooper (pardon the pun).

The problem in this country is with weak Christians and those who claim Christianity but are not Christian. Sound Biblical doctrine has been tossed aside for politically correct views and entertainment.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

Well, the time has come. The itching ears of society will believe anything because they don’t want to hear the truth. A lie is so much more appealing, especially if they think they might get something out of it.

Whether in the church or the political arena, Satan’s lies are being blasted over the loud speakers and many are still buying all he has to say. The last two presidential elections have put a knife through the very heart of this country. The one coming up could extinguish any remaining life that is left.

I personally do not believe there is any hope left for our country to get back on track with God, but who am I? God is all powerful. We who really know Jesus as Savior are the Church, and if we get on our knees in repentance and ask for a stay of judgment upon our nation, maybe He will say, “Okay.” Hezekiah was dying and pleaded to the Lord, and God granted him 15 additional years of life. (2 Kings 20:6)

Probably the greatest reason people think nothing bad is going to happen is because the “hammer hasn’t fallen” YET. We have been kissing the Cobra for the last 60-70 years. Sooner or later it will strike.
