America’s Problems Are Not Political: They Are Spiritual :: By Geri Ungurean

Yesterday, I wrote an article in which I embedded Conservative news sites. Today I felt the need to stress to my readers that NO news site, however Conservative, will give the reader hope or joy or peace.  These can only be found in the Word of God and through our Savior Jesus Christ.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33)

America is a sin sick country.  The GOP mantra from the last election was “Make America Great Again.”  Brethren, there is no greatness if there is not godliness. We can have the fiercest army, the most sophisticated weaponry; walls to protect our borders……but if the church in America is weak, and deception and false teaching abounds – America will not be godly.

If the church in America is not sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ; if they are not on their knees praying for the leaders of our nation – if they are placing their hope in “men” and not God, then our Nation will be weak and vulnerable.

Most of our founding fathers sought the Face of God and relied on Him to govern their newly established country.  I wrote a piece recently in which I placed quotes from many of our founders:

Words From Our Founding Fathers About God’s Hand On America

Dominionism is False Teaching

There are people who have twisted the Word of God to mean that all governments of nations must be established with Christian leadership before Jesus will return. Although that sounds great on its face, the truth is that there will be no establishment of such governments until our Savior comes to rule and reign on the earth.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

America’s real problem: Sickness of the soul

The endless political battles between the left and right in America (and Europe) are endless only because neither side is willing to deal with the real issue.

Let’s give both the political left and right the benefit of the doubt and say they are trying to improve everyone’s life in the way they think best. Unfortunately, they succeed only at the cost of that individual’s soul.

Our government exists for its own benefit above all else. That “benefit” is nothing more than the naked ambition of very modestly endowed men and women, whose “success” is little more than kissing the right anatomical part of the right person day after day, week after week, until they can advance enough in the butt-kissing business to have other followers return the servitude. Such people are revolting to the great mass of humanity they purport to “help.” The rest of us? Eh.

This is what Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell seeks to preserve in favoring Senate rules over cleaning up the legislative swamp. It’s what House Speaker Paul Ryan does, trying to keep the people above him in the funding hierarchy happy, and the people below him in the partisan position that best serves his interests.

Such people are not limited to Washington, D.C. The worst of the worst seem to be drawn there, however. Their victims are everywhere around us: The writer who doesn’t write, the painter who doesn’t paint, the composer or musician who makes no music, the mother without children, the teacher who doesn’t teach – so many dreams beaten to death by someone butt-kissing his or her way up in the material world.

Yet how many religions carry on the same games? The Vatican, if reports are to be believed, has become a cesspool of homosexual immorality dedicating itself to the glory of God. The pontiff now pontificates about global warming, rather than warning about the fires of hell awaiting every human soul who has not reconciled itself with God. The “science” of the latter is indeed well-settled.

Many other Christian denominations have decided they really don’t care what God likes or dislikes; their job is to please those who drop by every so often with a check for the collection plate. In the end, it’s money that saves us, right?

Islam is in a class of its own, removing judgment from the hands of its God and relieving him of the burden or butchering unbelievers. No wonder the Buddha has become so popular today, as he fades into eternal oneness with the nothingness of everything else.

The God that Jesus revealed on his road to the cross wasn’t very religious. Perhaps that’s because he had seen what the Ten Commandments did to the Jewish people once the legal scholars of the day got a hold of them.

Maybe what we are witnessing today is a massive, God-inspired effort? Jesus is trying to make humanity aware that he remains the only option to treat a materialistic culture for its soul-eating infection. To follow Jesus, you must set aside all that you have come to know about religion, however. Theology so easily transforms in the user’s hand from an aid to understanding God, to a tool used to manipulate God and others to do what we want. It doesn’t work. The results are everywhere evident.

It’s often said that the Christian church is all about loving one another. Those churches need to start at the beginning, however: Loving God. Love of humanity is not possible without first loving God. Guilt is not love, yet it is the Sunday substitute for so many of us.

What is the prescription for people and nations caught up in the death-knell of materialism? Open the New Testament. Don’t worry about the various interpretations. Read what Jesus did. Try it out and see if it works for you. Jesus didn’t leave a lot of rules: Love God, love others as much as you love yourself, and tell others how Jesus made it possible for you to do those two things. Were that to happen, it is likely that most of the people and nations in the world would be lining up to follow him!

There is no other answer. There is no Plan B. (It was never billionaires, as will soon be seen.) For good or for ill, we live in the age that is going to prove the lack of any other solution.

Godspeed in your travels.  source

Although I do like this WND article, I feel that I should stress something from the Word of God.  I think that the writer of the piece has forgotten one very important truth.  We must repent – we must agree with God that we are wretched sinners, incapable of saving ourselves.  We must agree with Him that Jesus is the only way to be reconciled to the Father.

We MUST be born again:

“There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  (John 3:1-17).

For anyone reading this article who is not sure whether they have truly been “born again”  please click on the link and  read it carefully.  The prayer must come from your heart. It is not reciting words which makes a person born again. God cannot be mocked. God knows your heart and your intentions.

How Can I Be Saved?

The Most Important Things: Christians Forgotten :: By Geri Ungurean

The Most Important Things: Have Many Christians Forgotten Them?

When I created my Word Press site a few years ago, the Lord impressed upon my heart that the front page – the page where readers would land if they came to my site – should be about Salvation.  What is more important than showing a lost person how to be saved?

Is that not why we believers are still here?  I think that it is.

Last words of our Lord

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen”  (Matthew 28:19-20).

Biting and devouring

The timing of the Rapture has taken precedence over sharing the Gospel with others. This article is in no way meant to debate Rapture timing. It is about our priorities in the Lord. It is about our hearts.

I wonder about the millions of Christians who have been martyred for Christ throughout the ages.  They were persecuted before they were killed.  I doubt that they fought with other believers over when Jesus would come in the clouds and rapture them.  I believe that these people wondered when they would be slaughtered, and they prayed that they would be strong and not deny their Lord before they were killed.

This is not something that American Christians have had to consider – NOT YET.

Persecuted Christians have more faith

I remember when I was a baby Christian in the 1980’s, and I would read about Christians who had to go underground to secretly worship Jesus. Of course, these believers were from other countries where Christianity was not tolerated by their governments.

The thing that struck me more than anything was that these persecuted Christians were praying for the Christians in America. Why?  Because they knew that with all of the distractions, and that many American believers were wealthy (comparatively speaking) that we needed to be lifted up in prayer to the Lord Jesus. They prayed that our faith would be strengthened.

We should want to be more like Jesus

I understand that we are to watch for the signs of His coming, but I believe that if Jesus were to sit among us right now, that He would focus on His teachings. Remember He said this:

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:34-35).

Read the response from our Lord when asked which Commandment was greatest:

“Master, which is the great commandment in the law?  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets”   (Matthew 22:36-40).

Jesus spoke of our hearts and our love for others

The Sermon on the Mount:

“And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you”    (Matthew 5: 1-12).

Calling out False Teachers

This is necessary and right for believers to mark and avoid those who preach a different gospel.  To some this may seem unloving, but in reality it is one of the most loving things a Christian can do for others.

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple”  (Romans 16:17-18).

We must expose these false teachers/preachers. It is the loving thing to do – especially for baby Christians who are most vulnerable to the lies and deception of the evil one.

The fighting and bickering over the Rapture timing is wood, hay and stubble

Millions have gone and will go to hell – not because they didn’t understand  the timing of the Rapture, but because no one told them to Repent and Trust the finished work of Christ on the Cross – the payment in full for their sins- and that Jesus conquered death and hell when he rose to life three days later.

No one told them that Jesus loves them, and wants to reconcile them to His Father in heaven.

Is there someone in your life whom you want so desperately to know the Lord?  That burning in your heart to share the Good News of the Gospel comes directly from God.  That is His priority.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved”  (John 3:16-17).

Some may be upset with me and may say that I am downplaying Bible prophecy and our need to be watching.  That is not at all what I am attempting to say in this article.

I believe that we need to get our priorities in order.  Saving lost souls is what sent the Lord Jesus to the Cross.  His love for us caused Him to die that excruciating death on the Cross because He knew that He would rise again; and He knew that this was the only way to have our sin debt paid.

Nothing needs to happen before the Rapture of the Church

This is clear in Bible prophecy.  He can come at any time. Isn’t it better to be ready at every moment, and be looking for Him daily to come and get us? When I lay my head on my pillow each night, I think to myself that He could come during the night and we would be with Him in heaven!  But as I lay there, all the people I know who are unsaved will be heavy on my heart and I will pray for them to know Him.

Pastor J.D Farag

Pastor J.D. is one of the best known Bible prophecy teachers.  I have watched him for years. But have you noticed that he ALWAYS ends his sermon with the ABC’s of Salvation? He knows that the Salvation message is of utmost importance when thousands tune in to watch his updates.  This always warms my heart.

Brethren, I too want the Lord to come soon for His people.  But the real heaviness comes over me when I think about those who are bound for hell if they do not submit to our Lord.

Pray for them without ceasing!

Shalom b’Yeshua
