The Prophetic Passover :: by Bill Wilson

Many Christians celebrated Easter (Resurrection Sunday) a few weeks ago. Today, however, begins Passover. Passover is a Jewish tradition commemorating how God led the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery.

Christians often overlook Passover, not understanding that it is most holy and prophetic. The Israelites painted the blood of an unblemished, sacrificial lamb on their doorposts for the plague of death of the firstborn to Passover them.

This is the picture of Christ, the unblemished lamb, who died on the cross for our sins. Our church family and friends celebrate the beginning of Passover with a traditional Passover Seder, a feast retelling the story of the Exodus from Egypt and foretelling the Messiah’s sacrifice, return, and reign.

What Christians call the Lord’s Supper, is actually a Passover Seder. Jesus said in Luke 22:15-16:

“I have desired to eat this Passover with your before I suffer: For I way unto you, I will not anymore eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”

The Seder Plate is comprised of salt water, parsley, a lamb shank bone, chopped apples and nuts, horseradish root, bitter herb and a roasted egg-each element symbolizing a part of the redemption story of being delivered from Egyptian bondage.

There are four symbolic cups of wine from which participants drink. The first is the Cup of Sanctification, the second is the Cup of the Plagues, the third is the Cup of Redemption, and the fourth is the Cup of Praise.

The Seder uses matzah, unleavened bread pierced with holes, in three pieces shared during the Seder. One piece is broken and then wrapped in cloth and hidden until the end and then is revealed and shared in communion. As Christ said:

“Take, eat; this is my body.” The cup of redemption symbolizes the blood of the Passover lamb. It was the cup taken after the meal. When Jesus took the cup of Redemption, He said in Matthew 26:27-29:

“Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom”

As you can see, the Passover has several layers. God brought the Israelites out of Egypt by demonstrating to them that the blood of the Lamb saves them. He instituted a service (Passover Seder), that the Israelites were to keep forever.

Exodus 12:27 says, “It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses.”

Through the Passover, God delivered the Israelites from bondage, foretold of the suffering Messiah, the redemption of sins, and the kingdom to come. When we, as Christ followers take part in Passover, we are participating in the prophetic redemption and return of Christ.

Crooks of a Feather Flock Together :: by Bill Wilson

There is an old saying, “Birds of a feather flock together.” It means that people who are alike tend to be drawn to one another. In this day and age, one might be able to modify the saying a bit to: “Crooks of a feather flock together.”

At least that’s the way it seems with politicians, and one in particular who wants to be president of the United States. Hillary Clinton has been involved with scandal after scandal since she arrived on the political scene and was removed from the Watergate investigation due to unethical practices.

Her shady past includes too many dark shadows to list in this Daily Jot, but the latest is fresh off the presses from Panama. It shows both her hypocrisy and her lack of ethics.

Mossack Fonseca is a law firm that registers offshore companies to evade taxes and launder money. Recently, a leak of its client base through the “Panama Papers” indicated a “Who’s Who” of close friends of Clinton and her philandering husband.

McClatchy News reports that among them are:

1. Gabrielle Flalkoff, finance director for Hillary Clinton’s first U.S. Senate campaign.

2. The Chagoury family, which pledged $1 billion in projects to the Clinton Global Initiative; and Chinese billionaire Ng Lap Seng, who was at the center of a Democratic fund-raising scandal when Bill Clinton was president.

3. Late billionaire investor Marc Rich an international fugitive when Bill Clinton pardoned him in the final hours of his presidency.

It will take years to unravel the Friends of Clintons shenanigans to evade taxes, and perhaps even launder money to unscrupulous causes (think Saudi Arabia, Huma Abidin, Muslim Brotherhood, etc.) using offshore accounts and the scandal-ridden Clinton Foundation.

But the hypocrisy of Hillary Clinton is further exposed by her rhetoric against offshore accounts to avoid paying taxes. McClatchy reports that at the recent AFL-CIO convention she condemned what she called “Outrageous tax havens and loopholes that super-rich people across the world are exploiting. Now, some of this behavior is clearly against the law, and everyone who violates the law anywhere should be held accountable.”

Accountable, really?

Hillary Clinton is proposing a ONE TRILLION dollar tax increase if she is elected. She goes around the country condemning the rich and their tax avoidance. She collects hundreds of thousands of dollars for her speeches (which is essentially legal money laundering for her campaign).

Yet her closest allies, who give her and her husband hundreds of millions of dollars, are suspected money launderers and tax evaders.

There is a warning in Proverbs 22:16, saying, “He that oppresses the poor to increase his riches, and he that gives to the rich, shall surely come to want.”

Clinton and her ilk oppress the poor while saying they support the poor. Those that give her a vote will see fruits of coming to want. She is a destructive person by virtue of her history and body of work.
