So Many Divisions, So Little Time :: by Bill Wilson

The Pharisees tried to claim that Jesus was casting out devils by the power of the prince of devils. Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them in Matthew 12:25-26, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?”

It is in this example the very point that division results in destruction. And it is at this point where America stands today. It is divided. The enemies of America are succeeding in dividing our nation into little segments that cause confusion, anger, bitterness and more. We must attain clarity or we will face destruction.

There are those who have worked for centuries in causing this division. They are those who pit people against one another. They are those who instigate race issues, social issues, financial issues, religious issues and so on. They are those who point the finger at everyone else and accuse them of doing the very thing that they themselves are doing.

The American ideal throughout history has been one of freedom of speech, religious expression, self-preservation and the pursuit of life. These are freedoms inspired by the Lord, for He is freedom. Yet the very ones who claim others are trying to take their “rights” away, are the ones who wish to place those very rights, those freedoms of others, in chains.

We tend to watch politics. We look at how Democrats and Republicans fight it out and unscrupulously exist to undermine one another with the very citizens they represent caught in the middle as pawns on a giant national chessboard. We look at the extraordinary confusion created by this infighting among citizen representatives.

There is massive confusion emanating from the pulpit of so-called “men of God” about whether to participate in the governance of our country, to spend our time on self improvement because that’s what God wants, to join church country clubs that line pockets with money, but do only enough to help the needy that it makes those giving feel good about themselves. We have issues.

People, we need to repent of these issues and divisions. Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” The divisions we face as a nation right now can destroy us.

There are those who foment such division that their result is theft, death, and destruction. 1 Corinthians 14:33 says, “” God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”

Golly folks! The confusion around the elections, around doctrine, around right and wrong is not of the Lord. It is of Satan. The divisions we see are not of the Lord. They are of Satan. We must see things more clearly, test our hearts, understand the Scripture, discern the spirits, otherwise destruction awaits.

Shut out the noise of the world. Pray for clarity. Act on the Lord’s Word. Be guided by the Holy Spirit.

Mark Them Who Cause Divisions :: by Bill Wilson

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has been caught several times saying insulting remarks toward certain individuals. The Miss Universe winner, for example, who was under contract to not gain any weight during her reign is reported that she was insulted by Trump. But he actually helped her keep her job by pointing out her need to lose weight. The media takes everything he says without reporting the entire situation and turns it into a scandal to make him look bad.

This  latest situation made huge headlines. But Trump has not leveled insults at voting blocks of the American people as has his opponent Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Clinton has shown her disdain for the voting American public by labeling those who disagree with her brand of politics as living in the basement of their parents’ house or being downright deplorable.

How can anyone who shows such dislike of fellow Americans be fit to hold office?

She characterized those who would vote for Donald Trump as “deplorables.”  At a high-ticket fundraiser September 9, Clinton said, “To just be grossly generalist, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call “The basket  of deplorables: Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you name it.”

Referring to Millennial voters who supported her primary opponent Bernie Sanders, Clinton told another group of her wealthy donors at a reception, “They’re children of the Great Recession. And they are living in their parents’ basement. They feel they got their education and the jobs that are available to them are not at all what they envisioned for themselves. And they don’t see much of a future.”

Clinton’s campaign of characterizing those who disagree with her as racists and bigots is offensive in the least. She is demonstrating that she is unfit to hold the office she seeks because she has such a hate-filled opinion of conservative Americans who would not vote for her.

Then on the other hand, Clinton has expressed disdain for those Millennial voters who feel a sense of entitlement because they have gotten their education and there are no jobs for them. There is a tremendous divide of civility here.

One candidate’s slogan is “Make America Great Again,” the other’s is “Fighting for Us” or just plain “Hillaryclinton.com.” This speaks to a lot. One is national oriented. The other is individual (self) oriented.

George Washington, in his 1796 Farewell Speech, warned against excitations caused by political parties, saying, “They tend to render alien to each other those who ought to be bound together by fraternal affection.”

He also warned that Americans should be carefully watching for the nation’s “preservation with jealous anxiety… and indignantly frowning upon the first dawning of every attempt to alienate any portion of our country from the rest, or to enfeeble the sacred ties which now link together the various parts.”

Romans 16:7 also warns, “… them who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them.”

Clinton disparages those who disagree with her, not only her opponent, but those who may vote against her. If she does it so blatantly now, what will she do later if she wins?

Have a blessed and powerful day!
