Debate Takeaway 3 – Border Security :: by Bill Wilson

Presidential debate moderator Chris Wallace said he wanted to clear up Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s position on border security and immigration reform. He said, “…in a speech you gave to a Brazilian bank, for which you were paid $225,000, we’ve learned from the WikiLeaks, that you said this, and I want to quote, “My dream is a hemispheric common market with open trade and open borders.”

So that’s the question…Is that your dream, open borders? Clinton tried to discredit WikiLeaks by saying that it was a Russian conspiracy to influence the U.S. elections, but she did say that “I do want us to have an electric grid, an energy system that crosses borders.” This ignores her stance on bringing in thousands of un-vetted immigrants from Islamic nations that support terrorism and from across the Southern border of the U.S.

Trump answered for Clinton, “She wants open borders. People are going to pour into our country. People are going to come in from Syria. She wants 550 percent more people than [sic the current “president”], and he has thousands and thousands of people.” Then Clinton deterred the talk from immigration to Russian conspiracy, but the fact remains that her immigration policy is a continuation of the current “president’s” but more as documented on her website.

As Homeland Security head John Roth told the Senate in March, “We may be admitting individuals who wish to do us harm.” This policy will continue under a Clinton Administration.

Moreover, the Center for Immigration Studies has analyzed the “president’s” immigration policy from data released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The analysis concludes that since 2010, ICE has released 124 aliens who have been charged with 135 new homicides; some have been released multiple times.

In 2014, ICE released a total of 30,558 criminal aliens. These aliens had already been convicted of 92,347 crimes before they were released by ICE. As of July 25, 2015, a total of 1,607 aliens had been convicted of a crime after being freed by ICE. The total number of new crimes for which these aliens were convicted after ICE released them was 2,560, including: 298 dangerous drug offenses, 185 assaults, 40 weapons offenses, 28 sex offenses, 10 sex assaults, four kidnappings, two arsons, and one homicide.

It is obvious that these people do not wish to follow the law, nor do they want to assimilate as Americans. The political goal by Clinton is to promote anarchy to trigger socialist change. The Bible is very clear about how to handle immigrants. Exodus 22:21 says, “You shall neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him.” This is repeated in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. In context, Exodus 12:49 says, “One law shall be to him that is home-born, and unto the foreigner who sojourns among you.”

This is also repeated in Numbers and Leviticus. One law for all. In this context it is God’s law, but these people neither want to submit to the laws of the nation or to God’s laws. If they are here illegally, they have broken the law as their first act. Hard as it is, policymakers must address this, otherwise our country is in danger.

Debate Takeaway 2 – Abortion :: by Bill Wilson

The last debate between presidential candidates Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump drew a clear line in the sand regarding abortion. This is an issue that Christians have long held as the single issue qualifier for a candidate to receive their vote. To put it simply, Trump said he is pro-life.

Clinton said she is pro-abortion. But it is the extent to which they hold their positions that voters of good conscious should study. This extends to the delicate balance of the Supreme Court to government (taxpayer) funding of Planned Parenthood to allowing late term abortions of babies who are able to survive outside the womb.

Asked by moderator Chris Wallace if Roe v Wade should be overturned, Trump responded affirmatively, saying, “Well, if that would happen, because I am pro-life, and I will be appointing pro-life judges, I would think that that will go back to the individual states…if they overturned it, it will go back to the states… that will happen automatically, in my opinion because I am putting pro-life justices on the court.”

Clinton answered, “I strongly support Roe v Wade, and in this case, it’s not only about Roe v Wade… So many states are putting very stringent regulations on women that block them from exercising that choice to the extent that they are defunding Planned Parenthood, which, of course provides all kinds of cancer screenings and other benefits for women in our country.” Fact: Planned Parenthood does not provide cancer screenings at all.

Wallace asked Clinton about her vote against banning late-term, partial birth abortions. She responded, “” do not think the United States government should be stepping in and making those most personal of decisions.”  Trump said, “I think it’s terrible. If you go with what Hillary is saying, in the ninth month, you can take the baby and rip the baby out of the womb of the mother just prior to the birth of the baby… And that is not acceptable.”

Fact: The Centers for Disease Control states that 1.3% of abortions are late-term, translating to some 15,000 babies executed just prior to leaving the birth canal. The Guttmacher Institute, which studied who gets late term abortions, reports, “most women seeking later terminations are not doing so for reasons of fetal anomaly or life endangerment.”

When pressed further, Clinton said that the government had no business interfering with the decision to have a partial birth abortion, “And I will stand up for that right.” Trump said, “And, honestly, nobody has business doing what I just said, doing that, as late as one or two or three or four days prior to birth.”

This is egregious that a person running for President of the United States would advocate the grotesque killing of babies in the birth canal. How could any Christian support a leader who wants to do this? The Lord said in Jeremiah 2:34, “Also on your skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but plainly upon all these things.” As Christians, we should never support such abomination.
