Clexit :: by Bill Wilson

Several analysts characterized Donald Trump’s presidential victory as similar to the recent Brexit vote where Great Britain rejected globalism and left the European Union. Perhaps the Trump victory should be characterized as Clexit-the mass exit of the American people from the Clinton brand of morally bankrupt and corrupt politics.

According to exit polls, some 80 percent of evangelical Christians turned out with a strong vote for now president-elect Trump. The Wall Street Journal reports that born-again Christians voted for Trump in numbers larger than they supported the Republican presidential candidates in the past three elections. This proves the power of Christian’s in this nation when they move in unity.

Clearly, American Christians sent a message to those who call evil good and good evil: that we are not going to take it anymore. The demeaning of Israel with the elevation of her enemies; the possibility of a Supreme Court bending our laws against life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; the loss of our jobs and dignity to globalism; unsecured borders; massive crime; race-baiting; bribery; socialist health care; Islamic terrorism; the disrespecting of God in the public square; the destruction of marriage-are the sum of the parts that equaled the whole result of this election. Christians stepped up and voted for the imperfect candidate to save the country from one of the most evil agendas in our history.

Now that we have seen how God can work though us when we are obedient; how prayer and action is honored, may the hope of unity found in Ephesians 4:14-16 be our mantle going forward:

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supply, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, make increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”

You see, we have our work cut out for us. We have bought some time. There are only promises of a better, more righteous future for our nation. We must hold accountability-not the type of accountability of judgment and condemnation to our fellow citizens who disagree with us and are blinded by the god of this world, but the accountability of the standard of Christ in whom we believe and are disciples.

From Supreme Court appointments to the treatment of Israel to freedom of religion, we must stand in the gap and make the hedge. We must be ever vigilant that our nation is fully advantaged by the mercy our Lord has bestowed upon us. Let us continue to pray, act, repent, and seek the Lord that he may forgive our sin and heal our land. Happy Clexit!

Have ablessed and powerful day!

Time to Pray and Act :: by Bill Wilson

I don’t think there is much more to say about this election or your civic duty to act. Throughout the Bible, there are many examples where God’s people, as a nation, had bad leaders and suffered much as the consequence. There were times when there were good leaders and the people prospered.

There seems to be this individualistic, self-centered gospel that is being preached that your relationship with YHVH is the only thing that matters and the rest of what is going on really is of no import. Certainly your relationship with God through the Messiah is the most important one of your life, but as life is complex, so is God. It is not an either/or kind of thing. Your actions have impact. They will have great impact today.

Only a loving god would choose to act through His people as does God. Ever notice how you can pray and pray about something, but when you act in accordance with that prayer, it becomes answered before your eyes? Ever notice how our Father in heaven sees and knows our needs and supplies them?

There is no place in the Bible that says “God helps those who help themselves.” But there are many examples where God works through men and women who take that first step of faith. Hebrews Chapter 11 is full of examples. Name after name is mentioned from Abraham through David–all had faith; all took some action. Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”

I have heard all the arguments about why we as Christians should not vote. You do what you will. But I know this in my heart of hearts—this is my very personal opinion—we do not have ideal candidates from a Christian world view. Nonetheless, we do have a clear distinction.

Yes, I know all the globalist underpinnings of both, and recognize them for what they are. Here’s the thing: God will choose the leader. He will work through each of us to do so. He knows our hearts. He knows what we deserve. He is merciful beyond measure. Yes, evil is evil. There is the type of evil that cannot be redeemed; and there is evil that can be redeemed. We have seen the heart of the former. We have not, the latter.

It has got to start somewhere. We as a nation, as a people, are on a downward spiral. As Christians, we are the light of the world, the salt of the earth. As Jesus said in Matthew 5:13: “…but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”

God said in Ezekiel 22:30, “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” I know that there are going to be a lot of Christians writing me today justifying their action or inaction or chastising me for encouraging political action. Fine. I will stand before the LORD for my actions. So will you. Go do the right thing.

Have a blessed and powerful day!
