Words Mean Things, Especially Mean Words :: By Bill Wilson

The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”

James compared the tongue among the members that defile the whole body and in James 3:2 said, “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”

[Jesus said,] “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.” (Matthew 12:36-37)

It is from this perspective that we as Christians should view the current visceral national rhetoric. Words mean things and mean words have legs, that as James said, set the course of nature on fire-a fire of hell.

There are many examples of this vulgarity that have overtaken our nation. Maddona, after the inauguration said, “Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House.”

Ashley Judd suggested that Trump and his daughter Ivanka had incestual relations in a vulgar tirade.

Michael Moore said that Trump was mentally ill and that he agreed with “progressive” congressman John L. Lewis (D-GA) that Trump was not a legitimate president.

Communist Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said, “I hope they (Republicans) leave their bodies to science. I would like to cut them open.”

These words have set the stage for violent acts against conservatives, Christians and supporters of the president. And it hasn’t stopped with the loss of four special elections.

Johnny Depp this past week said, “I think Trump needs help. There are a lot of dark places he could go. I’m not insinuating anything; by the way this will be in the press and it will be horrible but when was the last time an actor assassinated a president?”

Angry over Trump hoaxing the media about whether there were tapes of conversations between he and fired FBI Directory James Comey, Elise Jordan on MSNBC said, “My advice would just be to Republicans who do cozy up to him, it’s like hugging a suicide bomber.” The inference of death-beheading Trump (Kathy Griffin), the assassination play in New York, and these words-stir emotions of hate.

And it’s that kind of hate that cause people like James Hodgkinson to go off the deep end and try to assassinate conservative congressmen. The Daily Caller has documented 35 known attacks by liberals on conservatives since July 2016. Townhall documented 20 liberals who called for violence AFTER Hodgkinson opened fire on Republican Congressmen.

The names included: Bill Maher, Montel Williams, members of the media, including Washington Post, New York Daily News, Daily Kos, Village Voice, and several elected officials. The Washington Free Beacon assembled a list of 30 Conservative congressmen who have been attacked or have had death threats since May 8.

These are just a handful of examples you can use in your discussions of how the mean words are instigating violence. Words mean things.

Have a blessed and powerful day!

The Self-Destructive Nature of Evil :: By Bill Wilson

As a strategic political media consultant for over 16 years, there were countless evils done against my conservative Christian candidates. The news media being liberal and slanting the news or writing fake news against someone who doesn’t share their same beliefs was not invented in the last election cycle.

Lies by Democratic Party candidates, lies by the media, dirty tricks, and vote stealing I have experienced it all first-hand. We were fortunate to win most of the races of those who hired us. One thing that I learned over those years is this: Evil eventually self-destructs. It makes strategic mistakes that cost its minions elections, loses empires, and if we read the prophets and Revelation, evil loses in the end.

Romans 12:21 says, “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Ephesians 6:11 says, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Further explaining in verse 12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Ephesians 6 goes on to instruct us to put on each piece of the armor that we may stand, pray with all perseverance, and finally to speak boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel. This is our strategic game plan to overcome the evil of those godless communists and anarchists who wish to tear down our nation.

Since losing their fourth special election-all of which was conducted with vulgar, hate-filled, and accusatory rhetoric, replete with lies and fake news-Hollywood radicals are beginning to turn on their political arm—the Democratic Party. Moreover, the visceral language is continuing from the most radical haters.

I am hearing that mainstream Democrats are starting to turn-off to this narrative. While they are died in the wool Democrats and will vote for any stooge the party puts up, they may just stay home because they don’t want to be associated with the hate. We may be reaching a point where the lack of civility will have a rebounding effect and increase the negatives against those running on the “resistance” ticket.

This is the basis for my encouraging you to engage with people, especially those you know who may not agree with you. Gently query from a position of fairness when they make a statement, by asking open-ended questions beginning with “Do you think…” In your dialogue, promote civility as the better path.

Show others the Christ in you through your kind way of expressing that the current narrative does nothing to solve any problem, except to bully and demean others. Lead them to reasonable conclusions by appealing to their sense of fairness and decency. We have an opportunity to overcome evil and counter this coup because decent people are beginning to reject the violent dialogue.

Have a Blessed and powerful day!
