Michigan county flips back to Trump following election software update
Election software in Michigan’s Antrim County that had incorrectly directed Democratic votes to presidential candidate Joe Biden was updated Friday, putting thousands of votes correctly into President Trump’s totals. The software had reportedly caused a significant number of votes to be allotted to Biden in a county that has for years been reliably red. In the presumed final count, Biden had originally led in the county by roughly 3,000 votes. Revised totals show that Trump won the county by around 2,500.  “47 counties [in Michigan] use this same software in the same capacity.” “These counties that use this software need to closely examine their results for similar discrepancies,” she said.

Reports: CIA officer, fmr. SEAL Team 6 member killed in Somalia
The Intercept reported that the fallen officer is Michael Goodboe, 54, a member of the C.I.A.’s paramilitary division, the Special Activities Center, as well as a former member of the Navy’s SEAL team. Goodboe reportedly died after sustaining injuries from an improvised explosive device, though it’s not yet clear when his death took place.

The researchers observed that the modified monkey brains nearly doubled in size at around 100 days into gestation, 50 days before the normal birth date.

EUROPE and the US will join forces to repair their strained relationship and tackle issues related to China, according to a draft report. The draft plan, which has been seen by the Financial Times, will be seen by national leaders on December 10 to December 11. If approved, the new international plan could be put into action in the first half of next year. It is unclear what sort of action the draft report calls on the US and the EU to take. However, it does mention possible co-operation on digital regulation as well as Covid-19 policies.

Rockets fired at French and UN bases in Mali
Islamist militant fighters linked to al-Qaeda have fired rockets at three military bases in northern Mali in what is a rare coordinated attack on foreign forces. French military bases in Kidal, Menaka and Gao were hit although no deaths or injuries were reported by officials. A spokesman said a UN base in Kidal was damaged.

China has introduced tough new laws which restrict the export of “controlled items”. The rules primarily focus on the export of military technologies and other products that might harm China’s national security. The export controls are widely believed to be in response to similar actions by the US.

Turkey, Russia seal deal for Karabakh ‘peacekeeping center’
Turkey and Russia have agreed to monitor a truce over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region from a joint peacekeeping center, Ankara’s defense ministry said on Tuesday. The deal comes after days of talks between Turkish and Russian officials about how the two regional powers would jointly implement a Moscow-brokered cease-fire signed this month between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

A strong earthquake registered by the USGS as M6.3 hit the Chile-Argentina border region at 22:54 UTC on November 30, 2020. The agency is reporting a depth of 148 km (92 miles). EMSC is reporting it as M6.3 at a depth of 144 km (89 miles). Interestingly, the quake took place at the same time as M6.4 in Tatar Strait, Russia.
