Missouri and Kentucky attorneys general joined a lawsuit challenging Pennsylvania mail-in ballots before the U.S. Supreme Court. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt said he intends to add his name to an amicus brief — a legal document that can be filed by a non-party in a case. The lawsuit being brought by the Pennsylvania Republican Party challenged the state’s Supreme Court decision to extend the deadline for receiving mail-in ballots by three days, as long as they are postmarked by Election Day. According to the Courier-Journal, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron also said he will join the amicus brief, adding attorneys general from Louisiana, Georgia, and Missouri, who plan to have a virtual conference Monday on the election-related legal action.
