Another Ukraine evokes a Jewish prime minister, Sholom Aleichem, a reinvigorated post-Soviet Jewish community, Hillels in almost every major city, a new Jewish Community Center in Kiev and young Jews openly wearing Star of David necklaces.

PA minister: Kiryat Arba Palestinian led social security law protests
Palestinian Authority Minister for Local Government, Hussein al-A’araj, issued a public apology on Saturday for saying that the protests in Hebron against a new social security law were being led by a Palestinian collaborator with Israel. “Who’s leading the protests [against the law] in Hebron?” the minister said in a video that has gone viral on Palestinian social media. “A person living in [the nearby settlement of] Kiryat Arba. Do you accept that?”

After swimmers banned, Malaysian PM says no Israelis allowed in country
Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Bin Mohamad said on Saturday that his country will not allow Israelis to enter the country, according to Walla! News.
Mohamad’s words came in response to the criticism his country has received lately banning Israeli participants in the Paralympic Swimming World Championship, scheduled to take place in Malaysia in July. “Israel does many bad things but it does not get reprimanded,” Mohamad said.

Trump-Kim summit: Second meeting by end of February
US President Donald Trump is to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un for a second summit by the end of February, the White House says. The announcement came after Mr Trump met top North Korean negotiator Kim Yong-chol at the White House. He had been expected to deliver a letter from Kim Jong-un to Mr Trump.

Mexico pipeline blast kills 66 and injures dozens
Mexican authorities now put the number killed in Friday night’s oil pipeline blast at 66, with dozens injured. It is believed the blast occurred after the line was ruptured by suspected oil thieves in the town of Tlahuelilpan, in Hidalgo state. Officials say dozens of people had been scrambling to fill up containers when fire broke out on Friday evening.

The Pentagon’s new strategy calls for a new array of space-based sensors and other high-tech systems to more quickly detect and shoot down incoming missiles.

The central role of China’s police force is to protect the Communist Party regime from popular uprisings, the country’s most senior police official has said.
