Matthew 6:1/Luke 2:49 :: By Dennis Huebshman

False Prophets and Antichrists  – Matthew 6:1/Luke 2:49

Little Boy Blue, come blow your horn; the sheep’s in the meadow, the cow’s in the corn. But where is the little boy (congress) who looks after the sheep (Americans)? He’s under a haystack, fast asleep (dreaming of their own agenda, not what’s good for the country). (Mother Goose – emphasis mine)

One more: There was a “crooked man” (congress); and he walked a crooked mile (campaign promises). He found a crooked sixpence (our tax money), against a crooked stile (Fed. Reserve). He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse (Radical’s staff and followers); and they all lived together, in a “crooked house” (both sides of congress). Isn’t it amazing what can be done with old children’s nursery rhymes? Never thought they would come to really mean anything.

Matthew 6:1 “Be careful not to display your “righteousness” merely to be seen by people. Otherwise, you have no reward with your Father in Heaven.”

We have been witnessing “performances” not only by the liberal left congress, but even the conservatives are not representing those who elected them. Everyone seems to have forgotten the part in Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address that says, “…and the government OF the People, BY the people (here’s the clincher), and FOR the people shall not perish from the earth.” When government is run by a select few with greedy natures, it will not continue to thrive.

There’s talk about term limits, but that is a long-term solution. We need a “right-now” solution to advise our “employees” to get to work for us, and leave their personal agendas at home. We also need to be preparing for the return of the “Lord of Lord and King of Kings,” when He comes to call His own to be with Him forever.

Believers in Jesus need to take heed to be about our Savior’s business, just as He told His earth parents He was doing in Luke 2:49. They looked all over for Him, and He was found in the Temple talking to the religious leaders of that day (He was about 12 years old). If we definitely knew Jesus would be returning within the next couple months, I believe the attitude and motivation would be completely different than it is today – at least among the Believers. We would see people more active in spreading the “good news” (gospel) to anyone who would listen. Sadly, many people are living as if He will not be coming back (2 Peter 3:3-4).

Thing is, we may not even have a few months; He could return today. Only the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) knows when the timing will be right. While Jesus was in full-human form, He divested Himself of such information (Hebrews 2:9) as a means to experience personally, what we all experience every day.

At this point, we do not know the day or hour (Matthew 24:36 and Acts 1:6-7), and even the angels do not know that timing. This is the reason Satan does not have that knowledge, as he is an angel. He can only guess by the signs that are present, which is one reason satanic activity is rapidly advancing. Satan knows the Bible; he just “twists” it to meet his own agenda. Sad as it may seem, he was possibly the most beautiful angel ever created, yet pride took its toll. Now, he is the core of All evil, and his main desire is to defeat the Heavenly Father in any way possible. He knows that the Lake of Fire was created for him and his demons (Matthew 25:41), yet he is just arrogant enough to believe he can win over the Creator. He convinces false prophets and antichrists to do his bidding in the art of deception.

As shown in 1 John 2:18-19, false prophets and antichrists were among us from the time of the Crucifixion, and will be here until the end of this world. Their activities are increasing with renewed aggressiveness and boldness, as their leader (Satan) is pulling out all the stops. There have always been Satan worshipers, but not in the open as today. This only started a few years ago with the emergence of all the “alternative” lifestyle folks. Next thing to show up were the “Churches of Satan” (definite misnomer), and satanic statues being placed in front of several government buildings around the country. Meanwhile, nativity scenes and “Crosses” are being challenged as somehow unlawful.

Organized evangelical churches of almost every denomination have started putting on “stage shows” rather than preaching the true word from the Bible. People are being convinced that by just “attending” these services, they are okay with God. Messages are given to make people feel good, and nothing that is considered negative is presented. They make sure the music has a great beat, and “7-11” songs (same 7 words repeated 11 times) are a must.

Prosperity messages keep the people “inspired” so the seats will be filled along with the collection plates. Messages about confessing sins, accepting Jesus and having a relationship with the Creator aren’t there. In fact, people are being told that what the Bible called “abominable” is no longer viewed as sin by God.

John 14:6 is definitely not mentioned. Jesus is presented as having been a good prophet, if He is even mentioned at all. He is not shown as the only pathway to the Father and eternal life. Too many people today want this to be true, so they won’t have to change their lifestyle. They fall for the twisted messages and don’t believe in the “straight and narrow” as given in Matthew 7:13-14. They will accept lies as told in 2 Thessalonians 2:11.

Those who remain faithful, and are about the Father’s business, will be rewarded when 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 takes place. We will be the fulfillment of God’s promise to keep all believers from the Wrath that will come.

Meanwhile, all those who are living for their own personal gain, and are seeking “praise” from people, will be very disappointed in the end. As Matthew 6:1 states, they will have had their reward here. Their forever will be very miserable. James 3:11 gives warning about anyone who presents their own ideas as being from God, and will be “judged” more strictly.

Revelation 19:20 and Revelation 20:11-15 give descriptions of the Lake of Fire, and it’s described as being forever. Anyone who attempts to tell you otherwise is a false prophet.

The good news is, you can be “about your Father’s business” and miss eternal punishment. If you will read Romans 10:9-13, you will have the formula of how to do God’s will by accepting His Son, and be totally Rapture-bound when the call comes. Anyone who has passed away, or will pass away before the Rapture, will not miss this event, but will actually be “taken up” first. Then, those who are still alive will be called up to meet Jesus “in the air.” The only thing the secular world will witness is that people will have disappeared. Paul describes the total Rapture event as “in the twinkling/blinking of an eye.” That’s considerably less than one second, and yes, God is able to do this.

To hesitate can put you in the “Almost Persuaded” category. Almost, but lost. Call on the Savior now. It’s the absolute most important decision you will ever make.
