State Department Stands With Israel Over Gaza Rocket Attacks
According to the Israeli Defense Forces, more than 400 rockets have been fired from the Gaza Strip at southern Israel on Monday and early Tuesday amid renewed tensions following the death of an Israeli special-forces soldier, with the Iron Dome missile-defense system intercepting dozens of them, while others have struck Israeli homes and buildings near the border, or have landed in open areas.

“These attacks are very different from what we did in the past,” the officer said, “both in terms of quantity and quality of the targets.
