I Believe In The Risen One :: By Clay Smith

My wife and I were at our church last week helping at a special dinner event when the worship leader played a certain song called “Because He Lives” by Matt Maher.

One of the lines or stanzas was, “I believe in the risen one.” The song is incredible in the first place; but when I heard that one line, my spirit just jumped with enthusiasm. That was the title for my next article. I just wait till God gives them to me.

The lyrics are amazing by themselves; and another one line stands out in the song that I will have to title another article later: “He rolled the stone away.”

Look up the YouTube video, listen to the song and notice the lyrics in it. See how God will bless you because he loves you so much and desires a relationship with you. Let him draw you to his presence.

Jesus is the “Only Risen One” from the dead whereby we have inherited eternal life with Him.

Ephesians 1:13 “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.”

That’s an inheritance. Read the entire chapter; why would anyone not want that? You can have that right now.

The price for admission to eternal life with Jesus is repentance and faith, plus Nothing.

Isaiah 55:6 “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.”

What this verse and others are saying is that no one knows how many opportunities God gives each person so they can make a decision for him. If you seek him, he will draw you to himself; and believe me, you will know it. Then jump for joy and rejoice in what he has done.

We have hope and life eternal in what he did by:

  1. Going to the Cross for us.
  2. Laying down his life willingly.
  3. Three days later, being resurrected, Jesus Christ came out of the tomb. By the power of God, the “angel” rolled the stone away; and Jesus walked out of that grave by his own authority and will. And he lives forever more. He did that for you and me.

He is the only one who can deliver you from eternal death and give you eternal life-salvation.

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

There are other beliefs:

Most – not all of mankind – believe in a god or gods “out there somewhere” in another dimension that they can’t see. Along with that, there are also many different religions and belief systems in the world that people supposedly place their faith in, or at least acknowledge. They have to believe in something, right?

Out of all of them, there is only one God that has come down to earth, lived in the flesh, died and “Rose” from the dead. That was Jesus Christ.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

Now Jesus is at the right hand of the Father on his throne in Heaven, and we can’t see him. But we as believers have a relationship with him, and we have placed our trust and faith in him. We live because of him and for him.

“Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory” (1 Peter 1:8).

We love him by faith, yet believe, and also have such joy in our entire being, because we know we will be with him forever one day. We can’t comprehend that right now in our limited knowledge.

Did you know our God has a sense of humor? Of course. Check this out:

Isaiah 44:8 “Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any.”

Did you notice that “God” is capitalized? He did that to show that there are many “gods,” but they all are made of wood, metal, stone, dirt, even human (they think they are), and they are not real like he is. He is the only one whose title can be capitalized with the big G.

Speaking of other gods

Here are a few gods of other religions that man serves. We know that there are many religions and faiths, but the main ones are: Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Non-Religious (secular, agnostic, atheist). We know they are all false and non-existent.

You can look them up, and others, and see what their beliefs are. None of them claim their god rose from the dead. There are so many more, but none of them has ever risen from the dead – only in Christianity. Only our God-JEHOVAH.

That’s why we believe and sing in our heart, soul, and spirit, “I believe in the risen One!”

Because there is only One. The one who is, the one who was, and the one who is to come. Read (Revelation 1:8).

And HE is COMING!

So what now?

There is still time, yes, but it appears that’s running out as we see the day drawing near.

Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

What day? The day Jesus comes back for his Church—the body of Christ.

You need to be ready for the Lord to come back, because he can come at any time; therefore, you will be able to escape all that’s coming upon the earth during that seven-year judgment of the Tribulation – God’s wrath upon a rebellious and unbelieving mankind.

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

In Jesus name

God Bless you all,

Clay Smith
