The Signs of the Times Are REAL!

We have been discussing the “signs of the times” as in the “end of days” or “end times.” I am quite taken with the idea, that the majority of the world is so willing to turn their backs on God and HIS gift of eternal life. It has to be the “mother” of oxymorons if there ever has been a thing. Think on this for a moment: Everyone is so very concerned with what all is going on in their lives today, so much so, that the average person could be seen as having telescopes attached to their eyes.

All that they see are their own personal, hopes and dreams, their own unique little problems and seldom are they willing to take these telescopes off and see the rest of the world. They are almost never concerned with anything other than their “stuff” or their pleasures; they are literally consumed in this. The problems creep in like a slithering snake, when the wants and desires of one collide with those of another. Then we hear, “That’s mine” or “You’re in my space” and the worst expression of all time is the “It’s all about ME!” This is where I have been focusing my attention, to a degree.

Everyone wants what they want and that’s all that they want but when they finally get what they want, they decide they want something more, so the wants just keep growing. The need for cash to acquire said wants grows as well and now we open up a new field in the world of satisfying said wants.

The problem is, everyone has some sort of special desire or want and the world has to be cognizant of this. It matters little to anyone, just how depraved some of these people are, pedophiles for instance. The point is that it’s all about a single individual. Again, “It’s all about ME!” And the problem grows immediately when we consider there are over 7 billion people on this planet!

Now...looking at this immensely growing problem, there are questions and as with most problems, very few answers. What is unique is that each and every person has these telescopes on and every one is paying severely close attention to their own needs and wants. So I decided to throw a monkey wrench in the works! I began asking the question, “If life is about meeting your singular wants and desires, what do you think things will be like after your dead?”

I always get the look of death for asking such a weird question and then the usual, “Huh?” Then I am required to ask the question again, because who in their right mind would think of asking something like that to begin with. “Why would you ask that? You have nothing better to think about all day, than death? Wow, get a life,” is the usual second barrage of statements. Then I say something like:

“Well, everyone wants to be the most gorgeous or handsome, right? So when you die, that all goes away and horribly at that! Right?”

Now they see I am a little serious.

If beauty is the greatest thing wouldn’t their death be of greater concern to them? I mean, think about the changes going on. And then ask yourself, why we only get 70-80 years to live? And then what about growing old, I mean, you never hear of a beauty pageant for the elderly, right?

This is the point where they get a worried look on their face and try and slink away unnoticed.

2 Timothy 3.1-7: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

We must understand that these are the people of this world right now! If you don’t recognize them, then you must have your head in the ground like an ostrich! What is more important, the Bible says the situation will get worse and worse, but since no one is paying any attention, how are they going to know this? Remember those telescopes on their eyes!

If beauty is the greatest thing, you get 20-30 years with it and then it all goes away. Then you’re an elderly person and the beauty pageants have stopped. Same thing goes with money! Besides that, when you die, it all stays right here! The cars, the big house and the big bank accounts and portfolios, all your clothes and jewelry it is worthless─you no longer need it!

The problem is, no one is thinking about this! You also leave that “once” beautiful or handsome body behind and it all goes back into the ground, just bones. So if you think about it, if you’re willing to consider a life after death, then what should you concerned you? How about the condition of your “spirit?” According to the Bible, that is the only part of you that continues on into eternity!

I don’t think people are running around and saying the Bible is worthless, without first facing the fact, that the Bible states there is a God and that there is a life after death! That really is the “crux of the matter,” here. “Oops...there is a greater authority! I am not to do things just cause they feel good to me, I’m not supposed to just think of myself anymore!” Oh Wow! What a concept to consider!

All of a sudden you begin to see those 70-80 years will just zip on by in no time and what have you accomplished in reality? Oh No!! Now you’re wondering, if there is a life after death, then where will I be? Where is all the info on this, “I have a need to know this stuff?” All of a sudden the world has gone from a great big party place to a dry and seriously small place, where you get to face these questions. The very fabric of time changes and now your brain is pumping on all eight cylinders, the sweating starts along with the clammy hands and the racing of your heart!

Then someone comes along and hands you a Bible, where all the answers are, but you in all your wisdom and great intellect, YOU turn it down! That is the dumbest thing in all your life to do, considering the new questions that are bouncing around inside your head! Jesus Christ says:

“I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father except through me!”

You have the answers right there in your hand. You have the opportunity to live on into eternity in happiness and peace, like you have never known! But you don’t want Jesus Christ? You would rather be, as the Bible says:

“For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God!”

 And now you want everyone else to be the same as you? Somehow, somewhere along the way, you think being that kind of a person is the fun thing to be?

“But...I thought it was all about...YOU!”

That just doesn’t make any sense to me! You get to live on this planet for 70-80 years and that is the only thing you’re concerned with, your time here and now? You do realize, there is an eternity and the two choices for your life there is either in heaven or in hell! Seeing you are only concerned with yourself...don’t you want to go where the love and peace are where you’re young and vibrant forever more? Did I miss something here?

Revelation 21.8, emphasis added:

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Knowing this verse and adding it to your life as NOT saved to Jesus Christ, you choose to die again! A second time! Believe me, the death in hell never ends, the suffering and pain go on forever and ever without end! This is exactly the point, why Jesus Christ wants desperately to save you from. He wants you to join HIM in heaven! Like I said before the “mother” of oxymorons is alive and well in the world today.

Taking into consideration, of just how close the Rapture is, it would be the smartest thing in your entire life to re-consider the Offer or the Gift of Jesus Christ! Once the Rapture or Death takes place, you have just stepped across the “Dividing Line” and there is no recourse after that for you.

 If you accept Jesus Christ, you will have heaven for eternity! Deny Jesus Christ and you will have hell for all eternity! “It's all about ME” has never existed in the Bible, it's all about Jesus Christ first and then you, but the ultimate question is only for you to answer! To be continued...!
