Satan's Stooges
Satan has a very powerful ally in this nation that is rarely addressed by Christians. This foe has been very successful in corrupting the moral foundations of entire generations, and it has done more to enslave this nation than any other conspiracy group could ever hope to achieve. Of course, I'm talking about the liberal media. I'm certain that the prince of darkness spends more time in the headquarters of media corporations than he does in White House or the Congress.
The liberal media sets the culture agenda by the types of movies, music, and television shows it produces. The press is an ideal vehicle for swaying minds. By just reporting news with a liberal bias, over time, the general population can be made to accept any view. In recent weeks, I’ve seen several examples of the devil boldly over-playing his hand.
If one truly ponders what is going on, the only conclusion that can be made is that something sinister is at work
in the media.
Family-friendly movies have always guaranteed a good financial return. Despite this
common knowledge, Hollywood producers keep turning out movies that are loaded with filth.
It has been several decades since most filmmakers have produced a movie with any positive biblical theme.
Earlier this month, Sony pictures released a big-budget movie called the "Golden Compass." The film was based on books written by a radical atheist. Christian groups boycotted the movie, and it bombed at the box office. The fact that Hollywood keeps following this same money-losing pattern indicates some evil strategy is being followed.
In the coverage of the current presidential political races, I see all sorts of indications of
the media’s agenda. The other night, I was watching reporters on ABC's "Nightline" program talk about Mitt Romney's Mormon faith. The news anchor said it was bigotry for people to question his faith. Several other news organizations have echoed this remark.
Two things are wrong here. First, why is the liberal media coming to Romney’s aid? When did the press become the defender of faith? Second, it is perfectly fine for people to question Romney’s faith. If most Christians knew that Mormonism is a cult that denies Jesus as the true Son of God, they would never
vote for someone who holds that belief. It would be a disaster to have Mormons able to knock on doors and say, "Hi, we're from the President's church."
The liberal media defends Romney because the god of this world is the author of Mormonism. To confirm this theory, all one needs to do is see how the press treats Mike Huckabee. When Huckabee became the frontrunner, reporters began attacking his religious beliefs. "The Drudge Report" ran this shocking headline: "I hope we answer the alarm clock and take this nation back for Christ."
Gov. Huckabee was once a Baptist pastor, so it should surprise no one that he would
make a statement about bringing our nation back to Christ. The liberal media is trying to
depict his faith as being something diabolical.
If Huckabee wins Iowa, you can be sure that every investigative journalist will be out to get this man. They've already asked for copies of all his sermons. I would say that reporters on "Nightline" will soon make hypocrites out of themselves, but in their view, there is no religious bigotry when attacking evangelical Christians.
Liberals are not without their own religion. About every media person today is involved with
promoting environmentalism as a secular faith. Satan knows that a desire to save the earth is a good distraction from the more urgent need to save one's own soul.
Brian Williams, the anchor of "NBC Nightly News," typified his school of thought when in an
article for Time Magazine he replied to a question about who would be the next 'Person of the Year': "My nominee for 2007 'Person of the Year' is a woman--a woman with a history of abuse, a woman who has never run for elective office, someone we all know, someone who makes her presence known on a daily basis in all our lives and, for my money, is better than any male alternative. That woman is Mother Earth. I think the environment is the compelling issue of our time,” said Williams.
For many years, the liberal media has chipped away at the death penalty. Its favorite
method of attack is creating doubt by featuring everyone who claims to be wrongly accused
of a crime, and by portraying capital punishment as being cruel.
By raising doubt at all levels, the press has successfully put all executions on hold. Just
this past week, New Jersey became the first state in four decades to abolish the death
penalty under a measure lawmakers approved and the governor intends to sign within days.
I believe we are at a tipping point, with the liberal media now in the driver’s seat. Because
America’s politicians are easily manipulated and our clergy lacks a moral backbone, the press is truly the most powerful force in the land.
Slowly but surely, our nation is being driven down a path towards destruction. As believers, we have the hope of knowing that a Savior is coming to rescue us from this runaway express.

Poking God in the Eye
If you have ever caught a finger in your eye from someone while you were engaged in athletics, or if you have ever been poked there in some other way, you know the agony. Your whole body convulses because of the pain. The reaction is immediate, and violent.
The God of creation likens man’s dealing carelessly with Jerusalem to their jabbing Him in the eye: “For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye” (Zech. 2:8).
The world of nations is closing in on Jerusalem. Pressures are being brought to bear upon that city--the center of the earth, from God’s perspective.
God tested Abraham and Isaac there, providing a ram as substitutionary sacrifice just as Abraham was plunging the knife downward toward his son’s heart. Jesus Christ, who himself wept over Jerusalem millennia later, was sacrificed for the sins of mankind near the spot on Moriah where the ram was caught in the thicket.
Jerusalem, atop the Temple Mount (Moriah), is where God’s Law, the Ten Commandments etched by the finger of God in stone tablets, resided within the Ark of the Covenant. Jesus fulfilled the Law, with God’s sacrificial act of supreme mercy and grace for lost and perishing mankind. The veil covering the holy of holies in the Temple ripped apart from top to bottom at the moment Jesus voluntarily gave up His life on the cross at Calvary. Mankind has, since that most profound moment in human history, had direct access to the throne of God through prayer in the name of Jesus. Is it any wonder that the Supreme Being is sensitive about anyone who might act destructively against the one place on the planet where He chose to reach down to sin-blackened mankind and provide redemption by sacrificing His only begotten Son?
Yet, no consideration is given by the nations’ leaders to what God’s Word says about this strange geographical site that is a special contact point between lowly man and his creator.
The Temple Mount reportedly was on the table with regard to man-made peace efforts at the turn of the millennium.
“…According to declassified Israeli government documents published today by Israel's Haaretz newspaper, during U.S.-led negotiations in 2000 at Camp David, Ehud Barak,
then prime minister, agreed sovereignty over the Temple Mount would be either ‘ambiguous’ or control would be determined based on the bond of each party to the site. The Palestinians would therefore control the upper sections of the Mount, which houses the Al Aqsa Mosque and also is the site of the First and Second Jewish Temples…”
Apparently, treachery at the highest levels of the Israeli government continues to be pervasive. The same report quoted a Palestinian negotiater, a questionable source that I realize must be viewed with a jaundiced eye. Arab officials are known for making wild claims. And, truth to most of them seems to equate to whatever is advantageous to their cause at the moment. Nonetheless, the negotiator’s words must not be unheeded, in consideration of such a crucial matter as the future disposition of the Temple Mount.
“… The chief Palestinian negotiator said that in the months leading up to Annapolis, the Palestinian team was ‘surprised’ by [Israeli Prime Minister] Olmert's willingness to give up the Mount.
"‘We had intense debates on many topics, which remain open and unsettled, but the Harem Al-Sharif (Temple Mount) is not a sticking point. The Israelis didn't argue with us. We were pleasantly surprised Olmert didn't debate about giving the lower section of the [Mount] either, which was a sticking point in the past.’…” (WorldNetDaily.com, "Revealed, Israel Agreed To Forfeit Temple Mount," Aaron Klein, Dec. 13, 2007).
The American presidential administration is in the process of wading in on the effort to push Israeli/Palestinian movement toward a peace the Lord of heaven declares will never stand.
“US President George W. Bush is set to take a more active role in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, his top diplomat said in an interview transcript released Wednesday.
"US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told USA Today Bush would be visiting the region because 'he very much wants to signal support for the bilateral process between the parties and to continue in a hands-on way to encourage them to move forward.'" ("Bush To Take 'Hands-On' Peace Talk Role," Jerusalem Post, Dec. 13, 2007).
Mr. President: Be aware, and beware while you take America into the three millennia-long fray. Be sure, in your “hands-on” actions aimed at making man-made peace that is doomed from its inception, not to poke the Almighty in the apple of his eye.
Here is God’s ominous forewarning to those who either overtly or covertly, whether through commission or omission, do anything to deleteriously affect His city, Jerusalem: “And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem” (Zech. 12:9).
