Netanyahu says campaign against Iran ongoing on three different fronts
Despite a slight easing of tension in the north, Israel’s campaign against Iran’s aggression is not over, and “we are still in it,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the cabinet at Sunday’s weekly meeting. Netanyahu said he spoke over the weekend with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and expressed Israel’s appreciation for the strong and determined position the US administration is taking against the Iranian nuclear agreement and the Islamic Republic’s aggression in the region.

Israel strikes target in Gaza, two Palestinians reported killed
Two Palestinians were killed after the Israeli military struck an observation post in the southern Gaza Strip in response to an explosive device that was placed on the security fence with Israel. According to the IDF, the observation post that was attacked by artillery fire was overlooking the area where the explosive device was placed. The device detonated while being neutralized by IDF troops.

Swastikas spray-painted on 150-plus grave markers in Illinois cemetery
Employees arriving at the Sunset Hill Cemetery Saturday morning were horrified to find swastikas spray-painted on 150 to 200 headstones and grave markers. Swastikas also were painted on 10 homes and two cars in a nearby Edwardsville subdivision, police said. Mark Johnson, grounds superintendent at the non-denominational cemetery at 50 Fountain Drive, said the defaced stones were discovered about 7:15 a.m.

21, including Iranians, reported killed in IAF strike in Syria
Twenty one people were killed, including nine Iranians, in Thursday night’s attack on the Dabaa military airport in central Syria, Sky News reported on Saturday. The strike was reportedly aimed at Hezbollah members and militias supporting the Assad regime. According to reports, six strong explosions, allegedly caused by missile strikes, were heard in the Homs region, near the Lebanese border. Syrian air-defense systems reportedly attempted to intercept the missiles.

North Korea’s Kim Jong-un ‘set on Trump summit’
It is North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s “fixed will” that a summit with US President Donald Trump in Singapore should go ahead, state media say. This followed a surprise meeting on Saturday between Mr Kim and the South’s Moon Jae-in, who said the North was “committed to denuclearisation”. Mr Trump had cancelled the 12 June summit, citing the North’s “hostility”. But on Saturday he said that the date “hasn’t changed” and that things were “moving along very nicely”.

US Vice-President Mike Pence says sanctions will remain on Venezuela despite the release of a US prisoner and his wife on Saturday. Joshua Holt and his Venezuelan wife Thamy arrived in the US accompanied by Senator Bob Corker, who helped negotiate their release. Mr Holt later met President Donald Trump at the White House. Mr Holt and his wife had been imprisoned in Venezuela for two years on charges of concealing weapons.
