The resolution, the first of its kind in the Conservative movement, passed overwhelmingly with a 94-8 vote during a Special Meeting of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ) General Assembly, JTA reported. “USCJ, as a valued and trusted partner, is committed to assisting welcoming, vibrant, and caring Jewish communities to fully engage the spiritual gifts of all community members,” the resolution read.

‘Trump will keep his promise to move embassy to Jerusalem
Chairman of the House Subcommittee on National Security Ron DeSantis (R-Florida), a member of the delegation, told reporters at a press conference Sunday evening that President Trump intends to stand by his campaign pledge to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Israel’s capital, Jerusalem. Israeli journalists have been writing articles doubting Trump’s intentions since the inauguration.

Tony Blair, Jared Kushner Held 3 Secret Meetings on Mid-East Advisor Appointment
former Prime Minister Tony Blair (Labour) held a secret meeting at the White House to discuss his becoming an advisor to President Donald Trump on the Middle East. According to the reports, Blair has met three times in secret with the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner since September 2016. It is possible that the fact that the meetings are being leaked suggest the appointment is about to be announced.

President Trump would not renew the waiver that enables the President to postpone implementing the Congressional decision to relocate the US embassy to Jerusalem, said Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Florida), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on National Security, on Sunday.

Pro-Pope Francis Cardinals Seek His Resignation to Avoid Schism, Reports Times of London
The London Times newspaper is reporting that a group of cardinals who supported Pope Francis now want him to resign and be replaced by Cardinal Pietro Parolin because they fear his reforms will cause a schism “more disastrous” than the Reformation. The Ark of the Covenant, which supposedly has contained the tablets with the Ten Commandments, is the subject of a new search
Researchers from France and Israel are getting together to search for this historical artifact. They believe the Ark rests in a Biblical site that has not yet been extensively explored. Kiriath-Jearim in West Jerusalem will be opened for research between August 7th and September 1st.

North Korea: Four ballistic missiles fired into sea
North Korea has launched four ballistic missiles towards the Sea of Japan. Three of them fell into Japan’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ) after flying some 1,000km (620 miles), in what PM Shinzo Abe called a “new stage of threat”. They were fired from the Tongchang-ri region, near the North’s border with China, the South Korean military said.

Trump needs 60 Senate votes to fund construction of his “great wall” along the Southern border. The French president, François Hollande, has warned that Britain cannot hang on to the advantages of EU membership after it leaves, saying his message to Britain is: “That’s not possible; the UK will become an outsider to the European Union.” In an interview…Hollande said he regretted Britain’s decision to leave but stressed France’s long-held position that the UK could not exit the EU while holding on to any of the perks of membership.

Mosul exodus grows as Iraqi army advances towards Isil-held old city centre
The exodus from war-battered Mosul passed 200,000 people on Sunday, as US-backed Iraqi forces launched a fresh push towards the Isil-held old city centre. The speed of displacement has accelerated as fighting approaches the most densely populated areas of west Mosul, with more than 40,000 men, women and children fleeing in the past week alone. By Sunday evening, Iraqi forces were in sight of the main government complex in Mosul.
