Deception Through Insinuation :: By Dan Payne

As with most entities in existence, whether they are comprised of just one person or a group of people, they have allies and they have foes.

In congruence with any entity, media outlets also have allies, and they also have foes. Furthermore, in keeping with standard social behavior, allies of certain media outlets are usually supported and protected while foes are usually targeted for slander and destruction.

In order to maintain what they brand as their own “credibility,” the media purports that truth and integrity are the bedrock of their existence. To keep with the narrative of truth, the media resorts to very deceptive practices to apply the lipstick of “truth” upon the pig of deception.

Several popular media outlets (WAPO, CNN, NYT, just to name a few) use insinuation as the primary method of their deception.

They endeavor to coax the audience to false conclusions through misleading headlines that insinuate the desired narrative. They are aware that most people just “skim the headlines” and usually do not read or listen to the details of a story, for various reasons.

Therefore, they reason, that as long as the headline contains “things that are true”, whether anecdotal or otherwise, they then cannot be accused of publishing misleading and false content. The way the media is currently accomplishing this objective, is deception through insinuation.

Take for example the recent news that Vice President Mike Pence used a private email account which was hacked while he served as governor of Indiana. A headline published by CNN in reference to the story reads as follows: “Mike Pence on Personal Email use: ‘No Comparison’ to Clinton.”

The obvious insinuation is that the two completely different situations are indeed comparable and thus Mike Pence is a misleading hypocrite.

All one has to do is learn the details of each case for themselves to recognize the stark differences that confirm the two cases are indeed not comparable. Of course, the media realizes that the vast majority of its audience will do no such thing.

A federal crime was committed in one situation; followed by lies and a cover-up, meanwhile no crime and no cover-up took place in the other.

Hillary Clinton used a private email server secretly housed in her private residence while Mike Pence used a private email account without prevarication, as allowed by Indiana state law. Both were hacked.

Those who orchestrate such misleading headlines recognize that the headline itself will be remembered and the details of the story will be forgotten or ignored altogether.

The enemy slowly daubs away, one brushstroke, one headline, one day at a time, in order to paint the intended masterpiece of deception in the minds of a significant portion of their audience.

Take for another example the following headline by the Boston Herald which reads as follows: “Donald Trump Swipes at Dems over Russian Face Time.” Again, the obvious insinuation is that the interactions of President Trump and the Russians are comparable to the interactions between leading Democrats and the Russians.

Once again, nothing could be further from the actual truth. In keeping with the obvious fact that President Trump and his allies are hated foes targeted by a large percentage of the media, and the obvious fact that the Clintons are beloved allies fawned and protected by the same media entity, we once again have deceptive headlines insinuating that the situations of President Trump and the Clintons are comparable.

President Trump and his allies held legal and legitimate business ties with the Russians as private citizens while the Clintons have maintained deep connections to Russian government officials for years while serving in public office.

The two situations are not comparable.

Two former advisors to President Trump engaged in legitimate business deals as private citizens with the Russians while another former advisor gave a paid speech in Moscow as a private citizen. Attorney General Jeff Sessions communicated with the Russian ambassador while serving as a senator and member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, which is standard practice.

Meanwhile, hundreds of millions of dollars and tremendous benefits were exchanged between the Clintons and the Russians while Bill Clinton was president and Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State. Yet, President Trump is relentlessly pounded by the media for his “ties” to Russia while the incredible amount of associations and dealings between the Clintons (and The Clinton Foundation) and the Russians pales in comparison and is completely ignored by the media.

One has to wonder how long this deception will sow until its intended fruit is born amongst the fields of moral depravity encompassing the earth.

“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. ‘Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches…’” (Revelation 16:13-15a).
