John Hagee

Born April 12, 1940, in Baytown, Texas to Rev. and Mrs. B. Hagee, John C. Hagee distinguished himself academically as a member of the National Honor Society. He was the winner of the American Legion Award given to the most outstanding student in his graduating class. Pastor Hagee was also a four-sport letterman from the seventh grade until High School graduation. At the age of seventeen, John Hagee gave his life to the Lord and surrendered to the call to preach the gospel. His personal desire to be an attorney ended when he felt and headed the call of God to the ministry and followed in the tradition of his father and grandfathers.

Dr. Hagee graduated from Trinity University in 1964. He also attended North Texas State University where he received his Masters Degree in 1966. His theological training was received at Southwestern Bible Institute where he was President of his class and a member of the College Concert Choir. In 1989, Hagee received his Honorary Doctorate from Oral Roberts University and he has served on the Oral Roberts University Board of Regents since that time.

Dr. John C. Hagee is the founder and Pastor of Cornerstone Church, a non-denominational, evangelical church, in San Antonio, Texas. Hagee took the helm of this church when it was the 25-member Church of Castle Hill, in San Antonio. That church–rebuilt to seat 5,000 and dedicated in October, 1987, as Cornerstone Church–now has a membership of over 17,000. Dr. Hagee is married to Diana Castro Hagee, and is blessed with five children: Tish, Christopher, Christina, Matthew and Sandy, and three granddaughters.

Dr. Hagee is also the President and C.E.O. of Global Evangelism Television which telecasts his national radio and television ministry that can be seen weekly in over 92 million homes. John Hagee Ministries is also broadcast across the U.S., in Canada, in most Third World countries, in Africa, and in Europe.

“America stands at the crossroads. Our destiny as a nation hangs in the balance. America’s hope for survival is the anointed preaching of the gospel with such force that the chains of drug addiction, AIDS, Satanism, homosexuality, pornography, divorce and drunkenness are broken” explained Dr. Hagee. He believes that the most effective way to reach America and the world is through the most powerful communications weapon ever known to man … television.

The John Hagee Family Singers have released several major recording projects. They have performed at the National Quartet Convention as well as other major concert halls and arenas across America and Canada. Pastor Hagee and his family, along with Randy and Elizabeth Travis, and other groups, continue to minister around the country with Crusades, bringing hope and joy to the body of Christ through music and the Word of God.

Pastor Hagee was given the “Humanitarian of the Year” award by the San Antonio B’Nai B’Rith Council. It was the first time in the Council’s history that this award has been given to a gentile. Dr. Hagee was also honored with the ZOA Israel Award by U.N. Ambassador Jean Kirkpatrick, with recognition from the Jewish Community of Dallas, Texas. Mayor Kathy Whitmire set aside a special day of honor, declaring Pastor John C. Hagee Day in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Hagee has been honored so frequently by the Jewish community because he holds a deep passion for the Jewish people. He has been to Israel at least 20 times and has met with every Prime Minister since Menechim Begin. John Hagee Ministries has given more than $3.7 million to bring Soviet Jews from the former Soviet Union to Israel. Hagee has also written many books dealing with Jewish issues as they pertain to prophecy fulfillment.

Pastor Hagee believes that the promise of Genesis 12:3 regarding the Jewish people and the nation of Israel, is an eternal covenant between God and the seed of Abraham to which God is ever faithful. Cornerstone Church sponsors “A Night to Honor Israel” to express love and support for the State of Israel and the Jewish people.

While holding the Jewish people apart, John Hagee asserts that every believer has a unique relationship to the Lord. As His children, every Christian has immediate access to the throne of Grace and the ability to manifest the power of the Lord Jesus Christ in ministry. Members of the Cornerstone Church are encouraged to find a place of ministry in the Body of Christ and utilize the gifts that the Holy Spirit has placed within them.

John C. Hagee has authored many books. The Beginning of the End, was a run-away best-seller on the New York Times Best Seller List and the #1 book in America in 1996, in the CBA non-fiction division. Another of Hagee’s books, Final Dawn over Jerusalem, was released in February 1998, and by April, was listed as the #1 book on the Best Seller List.

From Daniel to Doomsday is a poignant account of prophecy from the writings of Daniel until the end is foretold in Revelation. Among the questions answered in this book are: Are we coming to the end of the world? What will happen on January 1, 2000? Will there be a germ warfare attack on America? Dr. Hagee deals with current issues such as China’s stolen American military secrets, Saddam Hussein’s rapid positioning for another attack on Jerusalem, Israel’s new prime minister, and more.

In, The Revelation of Truth, Dr. Hagee unveils the pictures that God has painted–not on paper or canvas–but in the Bible and the annals of human history. “In the beginning, God knew that Satan and sin would color His creation black, and that only blood red could restore mankind. Still, He dipped His finger in the blue of an ocean and painted a sky, then nudged His thumb into clay from which He formed a man. Knowing everything that would be required of man and Himself, God continued to create”out of love for His creation” (Revelation of Truth).

Both Devil’s Island and its sequel, Avenger of Blood, are unique fiction accounts of Bible history. Caesar demanded that every Christian in the Empire publicly choose between Christ or Caesar! Exalt the Emperor as God and continue to prosper. Or claim Jesus as Lord and suffer exile as a slave on the Island of Patmos or, worse yet, a martyr’s death in the Roman Coliseum. In Devil’s Island, the apostle John is exiled to Patmos where he is given the great Revelation which he recorded as the book of Revelation.

In the Avenger of Blood, The apostle sets out to deliver his apocalyptic writings to the seven churches of Asia. This powerful sequel to Devil’s Island follows the apostle John and the family of Christians he has befriended as they confront danger and the many challenges that face first-century believers.

In, God’s Two-Minute Warning, Pastor Hagee confidently states, “I believe that we have arrived at the “two-minute warning” on God’s clock. Unlike the players in a professional football game, we do not know how much time we have left. What we do with the time remaining will make all the difference in the world…and in eternity. It is vital we live every day for Him.”
