John 15:18-20 “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.”
How odd is it? Once again I am taking this same sentence or maybe question and asking you, the readers, to answer it. Do you see where this statement from God’s Holy Word is leading you and I? For lack of a better answer, I am bringing a question to you, in that we are truly a messed up species or do you not see this?
We are so arrogant as to think we know what all is going on and never would we concern ourselves with the fact that we are so fallen. We do not take the statement, “It’s all about ME” as being so close to home in our own hearts, in our every waking moment, of every day. In fact we are fully consumed in that statement. And that is arrogance to the Lord God Almighty.
We have gotten to the point, that simply because we take the next breath of air we think we will always be able to do so. And yet, in spite of this, people everywhere are taking one final breath of air and then never again; they die. How many are born and grow to think that everything in the world is for them? My friends, it boggles the mind.
Every single individual believes this; stop for a moment and consider it. And again, there are so many that “think” they are in control of their lives. So much so that they make all their decisions and anything that happens to them is rightfully taking place because of their choices. Surely my friends, you see the arrogance of all this. And it is arrogance to the Lord God Almighty. I know, I am repeating myself but are you able to consider this aspect of our lives?
Look at the Scripture above once again and then consider this: If you are of the world, then the world will love you, make sense? Then again, the entire world is against and is an enemy of the Lord God. So now, if you choose to give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, and walk with HIM then you are NOT a part of the world; thus the world will hate you.
You want to have salvation through the blood that Jesus shed on the Cross, you want to live forever in heaven, after this life ends here on earth. Yet if you do so, the world will persecute you, and possibly kill you. Simply because they hate you for loving and following Jesus Christ.
Somewhere along the way you have come to the point in your life where you recognize that you have a “spirit” in your body, that is the REAL YOU. So then you wonder why that is so, what does it all mean? Then comes the question that everybody at some point in time asks: Why am I here, what does this life mean, what am I suppose to be doing?
Maybe the Word of God has the answer! Let’s take a look:
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are NOT your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
There’s your answer my friends. In pure black and white straight from the lips of our Lord God Almighty. We are here to follow the Lord God Almighty every second of every day, in our bodies and spirits. You were created in the “image” of God, you nor I are a god of any kind, we are the created…NOT the Creator!
Thus it is our responsibility to know who God is and to Worship HIM and HIM only. Please remember, Adam was the first man. Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden and we have him in our lives, thus we are a fallen species because of his sin. So if you reason this out, you will understand…that sin…separates us from God.
That is why Jesus Christ, who IS God came here to earth and died on that Cross for us. That is the only way to heaven and to the Father, through our sins being covered by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Atonement! Sanctification!
If this rings true in your heart and mind, then you will understand…it is NOT all about YOU. It is all about Jesus Christ and HIS Sacrifice on the Cross. Let’s step back and look at the world. Thousands and thousands of babies are born every day and by the same token, thousands of people die every day.
This simple fact proves, more is going on in this world, than what happens to just YOU. This saying “It’s all about ME” is hog-wash. Evidence is all around you every day; life and death take place every day and in all things in this physical world. God proves this to you and me…all the time. People are born and die, trees grow and then die, the sun rises and the sun sets every day.
Thus we are always able to see these things for ourselves. The problem usually is that no one wants to think—much less discuss these facts. It tends to make you truly see just how significant you really are, how humble it makes you feel. Since there is the CREATOR God, then you ain’t diddly-squat. You are just a part of the creation. Now that is humbling. Suddenly we are stepping on someone’s toes here, thus says the Word of God.
Somewhere along the way, we have gotten it into our heads that we have choices we can make; things we can do, places we can go. The Word of God says otherwise:
John 15:1-5 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
This truly means, that we are not able to have a single thought without the Lord God allowing it. Thus the ONLY choice we can make freely on our own is whether or not we will follow Jesus Christ. Everyone already knows there is good and bad; there is a GOD and we choose to follow HIM or we die for eternity.
This is NOT rocket science, it is the plain truth. You will either accept it as God has laid it out or you won’t. Thus we know there is a heaven and hell and every single one of us will choose where we wish to go, after this life is over here on earth.
I am going to say this, someone is going to be angry with me. If you are not able to see the Truth of God’s Holy Word to you and me, if you are not able to see the proof in every single living thing here on earth, if you are not able to discern the Truth of God’s Word…then you my friend, are very lost.
One day, very soon you will be required to give an accounting of your actions here on earth. The question then is, how will you respond? You will stand before Jesus Christ and KNOW that HE already knows what you will say. And the real truth is this: Is YOUR SIN covered by HIS blood from the Cross at Calvary? THAT my friends is the real question and it will determine where YOU spend eternity.
