The War We Have with Ourselves! :: by Don Twobears

“All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body” (1 Corinthians 15:39-44).

When are we going to examine the Scriptures and see what the Lord has said, instead of trying to change the Scriptures to fit our own wants and desires? This is not conjecture, this is absolute truth according to the Holy Word of God Almighty and it would be wise for all to read and know there is something important to find. The Holy Word of God is simple. It is divided into two groups, if you will, one being: “What is of earth or the physical?” and then “What is eternal, or spiritual?”

What is earthly or physical?

We know what we are able to measure, to find a beginning and an end. We as humans have a “finite mind,” in other words we are only allowed so much knowledge and no more. (This is about all that is of the earth, things made from raw material found in the ground or on the ground.) We have light from the sun, the moon and the stars; we feel the warmth and/or the coolness of each. We have a created body and as such we must find food and shelter in order to survive. We are able to touch and feel and know different textures it has been this way ever since we were born. That span of time can be anywhere from seconds after conception to even 100 or so years.

The one most important feature with this life which we live is that we are told that this physical life is temporary. The Bible tells us we must eat food in order to survive we need shelter from the elements as well. The Bible tells us that we are to make one simple decision” of whether we will follow Jesus Christ or not. True to that, we find that this life is only worthwhile to those that choose not to follow Jesus Christ.

Because it is temporary to be here, there must be somewhere else we are headed to. The Bible then tells us that there is a place called “eternity” and that it is divided into two areas as well, one being heaven and the others hell and later, the lake of fire. The Bible tells us that we make that decision while we live here and we make it just for ourselves and no other.

What is of eternal or the spiritual?

We were created with a physical body and we also have a spiritual body inside of us. The physical body will not operate unless the spirit is alive within us. That spirit belongs to God, as does everything else. God created all things, physical and spiritual. Because our physical body is temporary, one day it will cease to operate and the spiritual body will continue on, knowing everything that happened in the physical body.

That one decision we make will dictate where we spend the next or the rest of our eternal life. Follow Jesus Christ and you will go to heaven. Follow anything else you will go to hell and the lake of fire!

You must realize that there is a God that created us, physically and spiritually. You must realize that as a human, you are filled with sin. You must realize that God came to this earth as a human, Jesus Christ. You must realize that Jesus Christ lived and told us how to live, thus the Bible. You must realize that Jesus Christ willingly sacrificed His life and died on a Roman Cross.

You must realize that it is His blood on that Cross is used to cover our sin; thus we will see heaven with Him. You must realize that Jesus Christ was dead for three days and was resurrected from the dead and is now in heaven. Salvation in Christ is the only way you will ever see heaven!

So where does that leave us?

Everything we know today is about life or death. People are coming and going every second of every day and there is no stopping it or giving it pause. If you are born, then you have life for a very short period of time and then you die, it is that simple. I am not telling you anything you don’t already know. The real question here is this:

If you wish to read the Bible, you will find that there is another life to live. Because we have a physical body and we also have a spiritual body—while we are living we get to choose where our spirit goes, once our physical body dies. That is the ultimate choice.

God is Spirit, thus the reason we have a spirit within our physical body. The physical body gets between 1 second and 100 or so years then it dies. The spiritual body, within our physical body does not die, it goes on into eternity. That spiritual body will go to either God in heaven or to hell and then the lake of fire. You must choose where your spirit goes, while you are still alive, here.

God is the Trinity: HE is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. That is in the Bible. He is all three put together! If you want to give him a name, then call him Jesus Christ! You have been given a great blessing to have been born. That means you have the opportunity to go to heaven for the rest of eternity and be with God. To do so, you must choose to follow Jesus Christ and be covered in His blood from the Cross at Calvary! Nothing else will work!

Right now, you’re alive and doing well but a day is coming when everything is going to change. It will be either a good day for you or a bad day for you. That day is called the day of the Rapture. You will either go in the Rapture to be with Jesus Christ—or you won’t! It is your choice.

None of us know if we are going in the Rapture or going to die here on earth first, but IF you have chosen to follow Jesus Christ, alive or dead, you will be with HIM. There is a GREAT PEACE OF MIND in knowing that.

The PEACE that passes all understanding!
